You made it look like they weighed nothin'!0 -
That is awesome!! Though I don't know what Soft Knees are.
Anything I can find says you are supposed to do them with soft knees (knees not locked).?
You are supposed to lock them out in a competition. That being said, from the pic they look to be pretty harsh judges.
Thank you for the explanation.0 -
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on your first meet, you are now an undeniable, official POWERLIFTER!
I too competed in my first meet this past Saturday! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
It was an amazing experience, and just the beginning. Mine was full power, and I was most worried about my squat- I dominated the squat! I failed my final bench of 155lbs because I failed to follow the "rack" command, after I had completed the lift... BUMMER. And I failed my final deadlift (286) and felt soft knees too, and my hamstrings were NOT cooperating.
Anyway, its awesome meeting other PL women, especially one who had her first meet the same day I did  Again, CONGRATULATIONS STRONG LADY!0 -
That is awesome!!! Good for you Thanx for sharing.0

Aw, hell yeah!0

I wasn’t going to add this, but I’ve just realised that it might push someone else to push themselves.
I discovered the day after the event, that, by virtue of no one in my age/weight class having ever competed in a GPC Australian event before, I am now a two time GPC Australian record holder.
An Australian Record holder. ME?
When Chris Davey started pushing me to compete, I kept telling him that everyone else was way out of my league. Then one day when I posted about a new PB for bench, he said “Do you know that the Australian women’s bench record is 70kg?” and I thought... “I can do that!”
Of course between me signing up and the competition, the record when up to 87.5kg.
But I was hugely motivated by that record. It made me sign-up.
So if one other person thinks “She’s in my age/weight class, I can lift more than that!”, pull on a onesie, get some knee-high socks, sign-up for a comp and lets go!0 -
Congrats on your success!!! Well done!0

Amazing!!! Keep up the great work!!0

GREAT attitude! You should be very proud.
Your bench is only 25kg off mine. Can you train me please?0 -
