I wish there was. You think my butt would still be fat if there was a food that burned it? Hell no! I'd be chugging or eating this magical food every single meal!

Food doesn't burn fat. Your body burns fat through chemical reactions (aka metabolism). Moving around more makes your body use more energy. It gets that energy from the food you eat, from stored glycogen, or from your fat stores or from your skeletal muscles. The way to make your body use up your fat stores for energy, is to eat a little less than you burn off in a day, but not too much less (you only want it to use up your fat stores, not your skeletal muscles.
So all the advice re move more, eat a little less, but still feed your body properly is what you need to do. there are no special foods. Just eat less than you burn off and make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body needs, do exercise you enjoy and have patience. The human body loses and gains fat slowly. 1lb a week is a good target to aim for.0 -

There is no such thing. Same with eating at a deficit-you are burning fat and protein (protein first). You have to add exercise in there to truly burn fat. The key is that for the first 30 minutes of aerobic exercise you are using up your glucose and glycogen stores. After 30 minutes you turn to burning fat. So you want to shoot for >30minutes of aerobic exercise to burn fat.
30 minutes helps to prevent fat stores as you are using up the glucose and glycogen that would become fat.0 -

Cardboard. It takes more calories to eat it than it contains (BUT remove any glue for this to be true).
My credentials on this topic are non-existent (like the food you seek), and I confess total ignorance of the caloric content of cardboard (corrugated? flat? shredded? mmmmmm so many flavors too choose from).
No....McDonald's does not count as cardboard.....no matter how many minutes it has sat in the cold air.0 -
At first I was just going to roll my eyes, but I did remember reading this:

This study suggests that green tea, or green tea extract, in high amounts will help you burn more fat. However, please note that in three months, the group that drank a crap ton of green tea lost 2.4 more pounds than the group that didn't. So, you could drink four cups of green tea every day for three months... and you'd probably lose about as much as if you stuck to your MFP diet for only week.
**As far as I know, this study has not been replicated and therefore in no way can be regarded as scientific fact - just something to think about**
Conclusion: Green tea is really good for you, but there are no miracle foods. Exercise is the fastest way to burn fat, and getting a gym membership will pay off a lot more in the long run that spending hundreds of dollars on supplements (that might not even work).0 -
Cold water... Does require caloric burn to bring it to body temp and will assist in weight loss... There is some evidence that green tea and coffee do raise the speed of your metabolism slightly. The real answer is Eat Less Move More.

As much as I love the symptom checker, I don't really trust WebMD as a source of medical information.
I'm going to guess (didn't read the study) that the group that drank green tea was less hungry because they were full of green tea and ate less calories.0
