ooh. this works for me. i live in saskatchewan, canada, so i'm at home with a trainer, but i look forward to getting out again this spring. my short-mid term goal is to ride 6 days per week for the next 12 weeks, at which point i hope to conservatively begin training for a sprint distance triathlon.
2014 week 1:
Dec 30/13 - 12.0 km (30 minutes easy spin)
Dec 31/13 - 12.35 km (30 minutes speed intervals)
Jan 1/14 - 16.63 km (48 minutes resistance intervals)
Jan 2/14 - 12.60 km (30 minutes easy spin)

Happy to join in. I ride my recumbent bike almost daily. It's the only exercise I'm allowed to do (besides swimming, and I can't swim...yet) due to a broken back and spinal instability. But the bike, paired with proper diet and nutrition, has helped me lose 71 lbs since Feb. 2013, and I am 7 lbs away from my first goal of 160 lbs.
I'm now fighting my second bout with thyroid cancer (after 27 yrs) and the treatment has lowered my metabolism, but I'm now back on my thyroid hormones and feeling a little stronger each day. I have a possible spinal surgery in the near future, so I am committed to keeping up the bike workouts, counting time spent pedaling more than actual mileage, which can be very deceptive. I will post my progress at the end of each week.

I absolutely love cycling. In the summer months, I will ride approximately 100km per week. For some reason, i just can't get motivated to go to a spin class. I do have a recumbent bike in basement. I will join this January cycling challenge and dust off the bike.
My goal this summer is to complete the Toronto Island Olympic Triathlon. i really gotta get on the recumbent bike. I will aim for 50km per week starting tomorrow.0 -
I have been using the Expresso bike in the gym. It was 2 degrees this morning in South Jersey so outside riding does not seem like an enjoyable activity. The plan i to up the miles and then do the New York TD Five Boro Ride in May 2014 (45mile)0

I spin twice a week (about 15-17 miles each time) and also take my bicycle out a few times a month. Living in Arizona definitely makes for some good riding weather.
I would say I log about 150 miles a month give or take a few miles. I've never actually added the numbers up but they sound good considering I didn't think I rode that much. :-)
I would like to add more road rides into my routine as I love getting out in nature AND the giant cicadas are finally gone for the year! They are everywhere on the roads from the middle of summer until late November. They make an especially disgusting crunch when running over them. *shudders in disgust* They also have a tendency to jump on me during my rides which makes me almost crash each time. There is no easy way to shake one off while riding and I panic.0 -

I got just short of 2000km last year... was sooo cross when strava started my year all over again on the 1st of january!
So this year I WILL ride over the 2000km.
Did 72km last saturday, tomorrow will ride another 40-60km

If you do not have experience with the TD 5 Boro bike tour. Please be aware that it is an astonishing amount, in numbers ,of cyclists. This is a major cause of accidents during the tour.0 -
