I went from exercising 5/6 days a week and eating healthy. To not exercising for 2 weeks straight and eating a bunch a junky food every day. Plus I got sick and have been on antibiotics. So yea I gained back about 5 lbs, today is my last day of medicine so gonna start fresh0

I'm glad to see this thread. I overdid it during the holidays and was beating myself up. Reading these responses helped me pause and see that gaining five pounds isn't the end of the world as long as I get back on track. I sometimes fall into that trap of continuing to eat poorly because I fall off the wagon. I just need to move on and get back into the plan.
Agreed!! useful thread0 -
I loosened the reigns on healthy eating but I also kept up my exercise. I ran a half marathon a few days after Christmas and I'm running an eight miler today. No, I didn't maintain. I got back on track on December 30th and as of right now, I'm just a few lbs up and ready to go back at it. Most likely, you didn't completely gain everything back. It takes a few days to get rid of the bloat. Just pick right up where you left off!0

I did pretty good. I stayed with my logging and while I didn't lose, I didn't gain, just the normal water weight fluctuations. New Years Eve was the worst, we went to a party and I pigged out and drank some good beer and was over 1000 calories over my daily goal. It's just one day though!0

Crash and burn then get right back out it really isn't that bad. Crash and burn and decide to quit is. I haven't ever done a detox but when I gain over a holiday a lot of its water weight and will come off in about a week.0

Yup! I went back to my parents and basically overate for 10 days, averaging about 4000 cals! I went swimming a few times and made some good choices but gained 3lbs. It could have been a LOT worse though. Back on it now.0

I did not log for 9 days over Christmas and New Years. I ate more, ate treats and cookies and had drinks. Unexplainably I only gained 1 pound. Now I wished I would have tracked so I'd know exactly how many calories I did consume. I always get more stressed a Christmas time between busy work schedule, shopping, cooking, and travel. Maybe I fretted the calories off!0

Absolutely right, Micbou1!0

You feel gross because of the crap that you ate, but you don't really need to detox, you just need to stop eating crap. I am amazed what a difference a day can make.

Pretty much Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve was not pretty. My ultimate goal was to maintain during the holiday season since we also had a two week vacation thrown in there. On New Year's day I started logging and went for a run. This morning I was up only 0.6 lbs. That is totally worth enjoying all the holiday goodies. Starting Body Revolution tomorrow and fully expect to be back at a loss by next Monday.0

yes i consumed lots of deliciously toxic food such as cookies and cakes and pie and pasta and cheese and ice cream and prime rib and mashed potatoes and the list goes on and on and on. gained 4lbs. it was amazing and i enjoyed every bite now i move on. in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal to me.
May I ask what is toxic about that food? There is no "good or bad" foods..Food is food you can lose weight eating junk food as long as its at a deficit0
