    A) If it fits your goal then it fits your goal. End of story.

    2) All avacado is too much avacado

In Conclusion: accusing people of being turds in your opening statement is sure to bring in people who act like turds.

    whoah sensitive! Relax

Do I seem as if I'm not relaxed? As opposed to one who assumes people are going to be turds from the outset?

    I see.

    Avocados = more turds

Does this mean avocado tastes like crap? Because I'm inclined to agree.

Its clearly that you obviously like to spam posts in the message boards. Get over it or go away.

    Hi, I'd like to play.

The main issue I see is that they're extremely calorie dense and the database entries vary a lot. As long as you weigh your portion and choose the entry with no asterisk (that's the USDA entry) you'll be fine.

^This. Just make sure you're logging them accurately. I love me some Avacado wif Tabasco sauce.

You're not eating too much avocado. And honestly, if it fits into your calories and your macros, then can there really be such a thing as "too much"? Of course, I love eating avocado too which explains my thinking I can't get too much. I can't do more than 1 a day or I do throw my macros and calories out of whack (often I don't even have one because they are calorie and fat dense despite being so good). And even when I do have one, it's one for the full day. A few slices on an omelet with breakfast, maybe some more on a salad or a sandwich for lunch, a few slices for a snack and then the rest in salad with dinner.

Cost keeps me from overindulging. Even on sale, avocados are still around $1 each (sometimes 75 cents rarely 50 cents).

So I say don't worry about it if it fits into calories and macros unless you start eating only avocado and nothing else.

Avocado consumption is associated with better diet quality and nutrient intake, and lower metabolic syndrome risk in US adults: results from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2001-2008.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23282226
Not surprising really considering a diet higher in natural foods and variety will trump the SAD diet, which is what most things are compared with. I think avocado being rather expensive for the most part of NA would also be purchased I would think from a more nutritional aware demographic, but just a guess.

    Heheh. Good point.

What if someone just likes avocado? I don't get what's the point of being so angry at a simple piece of fruit.

Ask Batman. Fruits killed his parents. I'd be angry too.

I'm really curious if this varies wildly from place to place...because in my area, Aldi and another supermarket sell avocadoes for less than a buck...sometimes you can get 2 or even 3 for a buck.

And I don't live anywhere near avocado-growing operations...I'm in southern Missouri here...

Are they stupid pricey elsewhere? I do know sometimes other supermarkets will charge a couple dollars apiece or for special varieties...

I'm in Kansas. They were .29-cents each at Aldi this week and .99-cents at Dillons.
SE Alaska... $2.48 for a small, sad Haas...

I love avocados and eat them regularly!

Our brains and bodies are composed of fats and need fats to thrive, especially whole, natural fats. It's when we load up on the man made "food like products" that we get in trouble for indulging in fat. As long as you aren't going overboard and eating excessive calories due to the avocado (which I've been guilty of doing in the past) it can be a perfectly healthy addiction, that also has the benefit of giving you energy, and great hair :)

Food is evil. Especially fruit and circus peanuts. Probably related to all that sugar.

too much avocado CAN throw you off.. an actual serving of avocado is 1/8th of the whole.. that's about the size of your THUMB.
it's a great spreadable fat though...

A serving is how much you eat of it. I eat the whole thing. :smokin:

    Clearly. Avocados = less butthurt

And in this scenario butthurt is of course not demanding that people not 'fight' in the very first post, before any hint of arguing breaks out, but in pointing out that demanding such things is only going to bring about such things. Though in most conventional definitions it would the OP who was displaying butthurt from the get go by assuming/warding against behavior that had yet to develop.

Today I have learned new ways to use both playful and butthurt. MFP, so educational.

    Avocado is still gross.

Actually, asking people to not argue around here makes sense to me. The butthurt is strong around here. More people should IIFYM to avoid butthurt.

Here in western MO, you'd have to go to Aldi's or Sav-A-Lot to get it for a buck on a regular basis. They are never ripe though, so all the waiting makes me anxious.

Sometimes HyVee has good ripe ones for a buck.

I think asking people not to argue from the get go is silly, especially when you could just not say what you clearly believe to be an inflammatory phrase/statement and avoid it.

OP says: I love avocado, am I eating too much

Someone says: If it fits you eats.

    End thread.

Op says: I love avocado, it's got good fats, don't be a turd and argue about good vs bad fats!, am I eating too much.

No such thing, I eat one a day. Yes one every single day. They are 50 cent each here in AZ, or free if you have a nice neighbor with an avocado tree.
