Horses require an extreme amount of time (if taken care of properly). I have clients that inquire about buying because "they have enough money" and I have to explain that money is not always an issue, but time is. If she already rides, she probably has an idea of the commitment involved. If she doesn't ride, I would suggest getting her some riding lessons (as a gift would be a nice present!) to get her foot in the door. The mare in my profile is a rescue I own that was headed for slaughter because someone probably didn't realize what they were getting into when they bought her.

Hope that answers your question. :)

I figured they need a bunch of time. But is it something that would be manageable for two people that would be working full time jobs?

We actually rode horses last summer at a place by our house and loved it! Horses are really fun to ride. Not sure how you get rid of the sore bottom though haha.

An almost-4 year old boxer/shep/lab mix, 92 pounds of love and loyalty.

And a 6 year old chubby, cross-eyed kitty.

Oh, and one fish in an overkill-large aquarium (major upgrade from the plastic cup we bought him in).

I have two dogs. One's a 4(?) year old 55 lb. pit bull mix that is a certified therapy dog , the other is a 1-2 year old 25 lb. hound/mystery mix (he's a lunatic...). Both are rescues from the euthanasia list at high kill shelters. Pics of both of them are on my profile.

Pixel--17 yr old DSH tabby & white girl (rescued at 5 weeks with her sister who passed 11 months ago)

Ender--18 month old black male DLH with a silver undercoat (rescued 12/27/13)--who is turning into a real mama's boy (right now he has his head on my wrist as I type) he's my current avatar

An 8 year old tabby cat called Mush who loves everybody even if they're a small child pulling her whiskers.
A 3 year old long haired calico cat called Mia who hates everybody but me.
An 8 month old springer spaniel cross called Jessie who likes to sit on feet. Or children, if they're on the floor.
2 goldfish called Nuzzle and Scratch (named after characters on kid's TV by my special needs son).

This is my 2nd forum post ever and I have no idea how to put in a photo lol
