Larro don't you know anything about book clubs? No one ever actually talks about books, its just an excuse for women to get together and eat, drink, and gossip.0 -

Oh, I understand now. The Quilter's Club that meets at the Civic Center every Monday night has a themed party once a month. After they eat, they play games the rest of the night. So that is 25% of their time that there is no quilting going on. A couple of times they have brought their husbands, which means the guys end up sitting in my office all night taking up my 'me' time.:grumble:0 -
that lookso good0

Had an early start to my day, so I'd been remiss about defrosting my salmon. Popped frozen dry rub salmon into the oven [note they're still icy ... lol] for a pyrex steam, plain white rice ~ which was meant to be lemon/herbed garlic rice [was on rote and filled the pan up with water, instead of heating some oil with garlic and lemon wedges ... I just chose to roll with it and added herbed butter my sis and I had made earlier after plating~ more options ~ added a dob on top of my salmon too] with warmed caramelised onions, mushrooms and spinach salad ~ threw in some slithered almonds [5 count] for crunch. Easy dessert@Klondike bar
Salmon
Frozen salmon flavouring process ~ lol
Rice still cooking

Dessert Cookies n cream Klondike bar

I raided the freezer to get ribs and pork loin. Also had peas from last night, and green beans, stir-fry veggies and a crusty French baguette. All very good. I have a late party at work, so there might be a 2nd supper closer to midnight.

I made a grilled turkey sandwich with cheddar cheese, spinach, tomato, and mustard (it was ugly but tasted really good). Sides of salad and 2 clementines.

Totino's Combination Party Pizza
Didn't end up going out because my mom decided that "i wasn't hungry enough for supper" yesterday, so yea. Whatever. She always gets like that. Almost.0 -
Tonight mine is a chicken fajita:
leftover skinless rotisserie chicken, orange pepper, 1/2 onion, with mushroom sauteed together with chunky salsa. Ideally it will be on a sun dried tomato tortilla which I have in my fridge, but if its age caught up to it by the time I got for it, I will be having deconstructed fajitas instead with a serving of tortilla chips.0 -
^Hey that sounds good!
Mine for certain will be tacos, as I finally got the last two ingredients I need for it! Will definitely post pics later!0 -
******Disclaimer******* This was lunch, but I wanted to brag about the restraint I showed. Even though I also had pork loin and ribs, all I put on my sandwich was BBQ turkey burger, bacon, Tavern ham, cracked pepper turkey breast, Colby Jack, pickles and tomato. Practically a 'wish' sandwich.

We went out for Chinese.
Egg drop soup (only ate about 1/4 of the bowl)
Cashew chicken, chow meon, white rice and egg roll.
Lots of leftovers!
To top it off, my fortune cookie let me know a great fortune is coming my way some time today!0 -
Dinner was pan fried chuck steak [friend bought them > not an ounce of fat on them, as is the norm with this cut of meat], so I had to braise them a little to make them more tender. Ughhh!!! Served them with caramelised onions and apples, which we all ate whilst watching our Friday night movie "Godzilla." Dessert ~ Cookies and cream Klondike bar ~ had contemplated a Reese's PB Klondike bar ~ nuh!! The steaks were served with cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg butter ~ Yum!!
Plain mash pic ... Pre herb buttering. Held off on the butter because of the 'fat' nazis.
