As someone who has this type of transmission in his wife's GTI, it would be better on track, but for the other 99.999% of the time we would both really rather have a true manual. It's our biggest regret about her car, but we just didn't have enough time to find a true manual when her previous car lost air conditioning (in Florida). After playing with it for a while, you just treat it like a regular automatic. A very good auto, but still.
Yep, exactly. It also gets confused and is sometimes clunky in low speed driving. And during autocross when it thinks you are coming to a stop and shifts into neutral when you are going into a hairpin.

    That's why I'd prefer this:

But since they are not legal for import in the US yet, this:

This is another nice option, more affordable:

    Buick enclave

I like them...I think Buick has been putting out some pretty nice cars the last 2-3 years.

Agreed! I would totally love an Enclave. Oddly I like just about all the current Buicks out now...seems crazy since they always used to be old people cars.

2002 Pontiac Trans Am (if we're talking "affordable").

    Edited: to resize image

I had the 2002 modle of the Firebird (basically the same car). I LOVED it. They are getting kinda hard to find in my area. Good luck!:drinker:
