    I haven't listened to a lot of metal since Peter Steele died. I think it coincided with my new found appreciation with darkish folksy stuff. I'm lame, man.

    We have total crap for music where I live, so I'm thrilled to hear all the new suggestions! I'm kind of all over the place with most of the recurring names mentioned, but a new fave is a local band called Anti Mortem which is touring the US currently... :)

    I love metal but haven't really paid attention to the scene in years, As such the bands I have listened to most recent are Dragonland, Dragonforce, Adema and Trivium.

    Adema are actually my favourite band though, along with Deep Purple (not metal I know).

    Metal just isn't the same as it used to be. Sorry but to me a lot of the newer bands just aren't cutting it. It's play fast as you can and scream so hard there is no vocals. What happen to when it was still music?


    I hear you :) I love the old bands (maybe my age) but hate the screechers (young bands)

    The last one is a Christian death metal band. Their music is amazing though and you'd never guess it's associated with religion at all. In fact, I like Christian death metal more than a lot of other types. They just seem to put more effort into their music.
