Same here... add on no bread, pasta, cake, brownies, oatmeal, cereal, pancakes, waffles... or anything made with flour except matzah.

Would you like a friend to share the experience with? Or would you rather the rest of us enjoy it for you?

    Why no oatmeal?

Oats are one of the five grains that cannot be consumed during Pesach if they've been exposed to water for more than 18 minutes. Some oatmeal is exposed to water during its processing. Regardless of processing, I don't want to feel like I should be watching the clock while trying to eat breakfast with my family.

Meh, the California bagels impressed me more and that's not saying much.
I've dropped 2 things from my standard routine for 10 days. Based on your posting history you've dropped all the goodies entirely. Me, Sad Panda for 10 days. You, Sad Panda for life.
I'm into healthy lifestyle, and thus healthy foods as well, if that's what you're saying.
I enjoy the healthy foods more and find them tastier - much tastier.

Everyone has their own cravings. :drinker: Beer is one of mine.

You, Sad Panda for 10 days. Me, Happy Panda for life.

I live in South Jersey and work in a bakery that has about the closest thing you can find to a real NY bagel outside of NY. There is a guy originally from NY that recently moved to the area. he comes in on the weekends and always tells us that, but he is quick to add that it's still not the same and always has this slightly disappointed look on his face. poor guy lol
Easy solution is easy to solve that problem. Get the water shipped from NYC there. Profit. It's all in the water my friend.

so you are saying just open up a sewer..??? Bahahahahahahaha

I didn't realize just how lucky I was that my favorite bagel place stays open over passover. (They have non-jewish staff who keep it open during holidays).

Imma get me some bagels tomorrow.

I looked up your profile to see where you live and make fun of you for thinking your pathetic little town would even know how to make a decent bagel. I see you're a follow NYer tho. Damn, I'm so, so sorry. Hope you make it.

    Yes you do.

Hm, yeah, but I live in CA. I guess the good news is, I've never had a bagel anywhere else, so nothing to compare it to.

However, I changed my mind and I want to lift so I can eat chili cheese fries. And cookies. And probably a bagel sandwich.

As the title states, today is day one of not eating my daily bagel with cream cheese and 2 cookies in he morning and I'm already start to chew on my arm.

    Am I gonna make it?

Don't restrict any food group - just eat half a bagel and half a cookie.

Restricting will only lead to failure!

As for the cookies...eh...I make my own so I can have those whenever...maybe you should try some baking....

    Great will power!
Today Brueggers has a special on bagels for tax day. Of course someone brought 2 dozen to work, and of course someone toasted my favorite (onion). The smell is permeating the office. I am salivating at the moment and trying to stay strong. I already ate breakfast.

They are NY style bagels and can challenge the local Jewish deli bagels I grew up on.
