Have your bagel early in the day. Giving up food groups is not the way to lose weight, it's about the whole plan. If you don't have carbs in the day you will pay for it big time in the night. I've struggled most of my life with weight loss issues and different diet strategies. They may work short term but they will not give you lasting results. Look at the big picture calories in/calories out. Good luck to you!!
    Oh dear....
    why would you do that?

My favorite bagel spot which I picked out after going to almost all of the top rated ones in the city is closed for Passover. 10 days. The let me know 1 week in advance so it would be so traumatic. I told them if the alarm goes off while they are gone, I didn't do it.

Maybe google other shops and give them a try? Otherwise...I had baguettes in France with cream cheese and it was bagelish?

Personally I can't do the cookies in the morning. Nothing sweet until hour 3 of being awake. Sorry if that's too close to the other answer of understanding dropping cookies.

I think you will make it, but please try not to eat your arm.
Not an option. Have you no loyalty?
Also, all Jewish bagel shops are closed for the week.

As somebody who grew up in Jersey, you're really making me drool. If you start posting pics of Black&White cookies, I'll have to kill you.

You could always go to a bagel shop run by Greeks or Albanians... sure, they aren't as good, but they're still way better than the bagel shops in the rest of the world.

There's only one way I can think of to solve this problem... and that is....

to invent, patent, sell, and eat "The Bagel Cookie". Is it cookie? Is it bagel? Did the cookie fall in love with the bagel and have lots of nasty nasty, I mean, sweet gooey lovings? Only one way to find out...

I live in South Jersey and work in a bakery that has about the closest thing you can find to a real NY bagel outside of NY. There is a guy originally from NY that recently moved to the area. he comes in on the weekends and always tells us that, but he is quick to add that it's still not the same and always has this slightly disappointed look on his face. poor guy lol

I eat a bagel EVERY MORNING with peanut butter. However, today I decided not to eat one and I am sitting here salivating over tv commercials. I feel your pain.. nothing beats a bagel.

Same here... add on no bread, pasta, cake, brownies, oatmeal, cereal, pancakes, waffles... or anything made with flour except matzah.

Would you like a friend to share the experience with? Or would you rather the rest of us enjoy it for you?

    Why no oatmeal?

Oats are one of the five grains that cannot be consumed during Pesach if they've been exposed to water for more than 18 minutes. Some oatmeal is exposed to water during its processing. Regardless of processing, I don't want to feel like I should be watching the clock while trying to eat breakfast with my family.
