Ladies & Gents, here we are at week EIGHT!! Woo hoo. Time is definitely flying for us. Its hard to believe that its this close to Halloween. I haven't met my goal, I know that. Blah.. Doesn't help that Ive been sick and TOM.. All those "factors" of why Im not where I wanted to be. But I am looking good so I cant complain.

Welcome to all the NEWBIES: recent and the ones who are yet to join. Feel free to join in at anytime. We are a very friendly group WE are here for support, and to talk about everyday life.

We have all come VERY far compared to EIGHT weeks ago. You should all be proud, even thru the struggles. Its been an amazing journey with all of you ladies and gents!! I know Ive struggled, but you know, its still been worth it. Because when I begin to doubt I can I try to remember I am worth all this hard work.

ATTENTION: This week I may be a little absent, I will try to be here as much as I can be. I will have to get things around for Saturday. Getting our pictures done for our anniversary then going out of town. Sunday: PINKY is going to start week 9 for me. Thank you again Pinky.

We still need our next challenge. And our challenge is about up so we need ideas. We can do to Thanksgiving but how many pounds. Wanna start doing weekly challenges after this one? Ideas are greatly appreciated.. Looking forward to the next challenge with you guys. I love how well this group is doing.. ;)

Happy Week EIGHT!!

  • Im right there with you AprilVal with not reaching my goal. I also have been dealing with being sick and also a shoulder injury. I dont even think I will come close to this goal now since what I lost I gained back but thats ok. As long as we stick with this and keep on moving forward we will eventually make our ultimate goal.

When we finish this goal we will be about 10 weeks from Christmas. So our next goal could be C20 about the same as this one. Or we could do a weekly goal and each week set a goal to met at the end of the week. i.e. Workout 4 times this week, lose 1 lb this week, cut out sugars this week, no pop this week,....the list go on and on. Just some ideas.

Yay Week 8! I'm going to have to start plotting, er, planning, for my Week 9 into. You always do such a great job getting a conversation going, April!

aprildauer - I like your 20 pounds by Christmas idea. We've worked with that time frame(ish) for this challenge, so we know what pace we'd have to keep. And so we have a goal to work towards for turkey day, maybe have a mini-challenge to tackle. I dunno. My brain isn't coming up with anything creative right now.

April, back to your anniversary outfit, have you looked into a shrug/bolero like these?:

I'm totally in for a 20lb Christmas challenge! I have a feeling the holiday's will be kinda rough for me. I have a ton of family and that means many, many Christmas, Christmas eve, Thanksgiving dinners/parties to attend.

    Happy week 8 everybody!

Well we could always give ourselves a little break and strive for 15 pounds by Christmas (so we can guiltlessly enjoy some of the Holidays' offerings). H20 - Festive Fifteen Challenge.

That's such a cute hairstyle! I'd pull some of those tendrils on the face back, just so they don't get in your pretty eyes.

Week 8 woo woo! I cannot believe it has been 8 weeks! Time sure flies by, and it is only going to fly by faster because the holiday season is coming up! I swear once Halloween hits, the holidays are like a blur!

I really like the idea of having a challenge that goes till Christmas time. 15 pounds sounds good too. I mean just being realistic because the holidays and weight loss aren't exactly best friends haha. Maybe we could have mini challenges within the Christmas challenge? For instance when we start the new thread each week we can designate a mini goal for that week like everybody complete x number of sit-ups, etc. Just a suggestion!

I have about three weeks to lose 6 pounds which means I have to really up my game! Wishing everybody luck for the final weeks, keep pushing hard everyone!!

Oooo one more thing! Can someone please tell me how to get that cool pumpkin H20!?!? I am not a "pro" at mfp quite yet so it would be great if someone could help me out. Thanks!

Ooh! Idea! We can make the Christmas mini-challenges like the 12 Days of Christmas song. Only for us it'll be the 8 weeks of Christmas (did I calculate that correctly? If so, 15 pounds seems a bit daunting to me and I'm ready to downgrade to 10 pounds. ). So, "on the 1st week of Christmas MFP gave to me...1 minute planks" or something like that. Tie in the number of the week to that week's challenge.

    What does everyone think?

I have a feeling my weigh-in isn't going to be good. I'm nearing the end of TOM and was confident for the upcoming week 'cause I weighed in on Saturday morning at 183.4. Yesterday the Wii said I had gained 2 pounds. Today my scale told me something along the lines of 185.

I really am genuinely happy for my progress so far, and my inches are down so I KNOW I am making a difference. But dammit, I wanted to be in the 170's by Halloween, and last week, it seemed SO doable.

Suppose I should stop whining and save my blabbering for Wednesday when it is time to put the scale where my feet are. *dun dun dunnnnnn*

WOW, :noway: week 8 already! WOOT WOOT for fall and Halloween and mostly the anniversaries coming up

April, I didn't get a chance to comment on the previous thread, but I LOVE the top and skirt! CUTE CUTE CUTE! I had to find a half jacket for my outfit as well, I hit up my local mall and found a store called Deb's and they had a bunch of black hald jackets from XS to 3x I believe. So, if you have a Deb's close by, check it out, mine cost $16 and it's something I can use with many other outfits :) Can't wait to see your anniversary pics! I think we are doing those when we hit 5yrs. Which would be 2013 and the last time we had pics done was 2003 when we first started dating. So it would be nice to see them exactly 10yrs later.

Our plans for this weekend are changing slightly in case hubby works Saturday (which means 8hrs of overtime), so if that's the case, we are going to go to dinner at the Lumiere Hotel and Casino at a place called House of Savoy and then a possible horse carriage ride afterwards around ST Louis. Then hopefully we'll be staying at the hotel so Sunday after we eat breakfast, we're gonna head to Botanical Gradens (no matter what, per Nick, lol), and then 2 of the following: the Zoo, the Arch or the City Museum. Hopefully I'll have pics of everything we see and of us dressed up at dinner :)

I like it all!! I do weekly challenges for my mfp friends on my status every Monday and it runs til that following Sunday. We've done things such as 3min planks for the week, walk or jog for at least 30min 5 days this week, do 50 jumping jacks 3x this week, etc, so if you need ideas, I have a list of everything we've done so far :) I can message you with them April if you want :)

Hi all. I am a little behind where I wanted to be by now, but no worries; the scale is going down, slowly but down. I can actually run a bit now too so all is well. I AM getting healthier. Still hoping to pull out 6lbs by Halloween! Lofty goal but, it could happen.

I love the new challenge idea. I think Festive 15 is a great goal (being realistic about the potential difficulties of loosing weight during the holidays) if it starts after the H20 ends. Or we could start a new one now, the Turkey Ten. I also love the idea of the mini goals along the way!

Bru and April, enjoy your special days!

Thanks.. I cant wait to celebrate on Saturday.. ;)

WE need to get everyones input on it and then we can decide when to start.. Christmas is on a Saturday this year.. So maybe start it on October 30th? Day before the end of our halloween challenge?? Remember to have a weigh in by 11:59pm on Sunday.. So we can finish off the halloween one right.. :)

Pink- you CAN be in the 170's by halloween. If you are at 185, you have to lose 6 lbs to be at 179 and you can do it! Stay strong in these past few weeks and keep up the good work!!

April- I like that idea of starting on Oct 30th. If we start before Halloween it may add a little encouragement to those who want to eat too much halloween candy. Like me! haha.

Pinky, youre doing great even if you dont hit where you wanted to be by halloween,. Just keep up the work. Remember sometimes inches come off instead of pounds.. <3 Keep your chin up. No use getting all stressed and bent outta shape. It will only make it harder for the weight to come off... <3
