Artificial Sweetener Demonizing

I'd love if everyone would stop using Splenda. A small percentage gets stored in fat cells (because that's what happens to toxins in our bodies) but the rest ends up getting flushed into our water supply. And our water supply is very quickly becoming contaminated. It doesn't biodegrade so this could be quite a big problem in a short period of time.
This is not even remotely true. Not by a long shot. It's incredibly, unfathomably, ridiculously untrue.
Where on earth did you hear this?0 -
Ah bite me
Strong argument. I'm convinced by your superior knowledge and understanding!
Nobody twisting your arm to be in here, and the only reason I said that was cause your were being an *kitten*. Should I just show no spine and take your ****? I'm betting you wouldn't.
Laughing now lol Not mad, just tired.0 -
I think it tastes like crap. If other people like crap, that's ok by me. As long as they don't put it in my food or drinks, I don't care.
While on this topic, why cant I find pickled ginger without aspartame for my sushi? What's up with that?0 -

Otherwise, not caring just means that you are willing to be a guinea pig in a scientific experiment.
But most artificial sweeteners have come out on the wrong side of weight gain in the scientific studies, causing the brain to crave sweet more than regular sugars, making it more likely that people slip up.
And once you've been off of them for a while, they really do taste so awful that you don't want them. They just taste like chemicals.
I personally try to avoid all sweeteners but when I do have some, it is normally unrefined cane sugar. Sweet in all the right ways without the problems that arise in the bleaching process, and has been around long enough for us to know its effects on our long-term health.
I've volunteered for a research study or two in my time. Does that mean it's okay if I don't care about artificial sweeteners?0 -
Btw, I got the post off yahoo. The only thing that was mine was "what are your thoughts?" lol0

water's not man made
You come in to decry the use of artificial sweeteners, but then argue that water's not man made. Water, artificial sweeteners, and every other thing we put in our mouths are chemicals, because they have a chemical makeup. If you don't want to eat artificial sweeteners, then don't.
Troll much?0 -

It's the sugar in the sushi rice that is causing you to gain weight0 -

I'm happy to play guinea pig in the name of science. And pepsi max...0 -

When you quote other people, it is proper to use quotation marks and attribute the original source.
It's also not proper to call people "dumbass" or "*kitten*." Consider this thread your Introduction To Talking To Other People With Some Degree Of Humanity.0 -

Oh, well that makes it . . . better?0 -
Artificial sweeteners have become a necessity for many people to make their food palatable. They need sweetness, but they don’t want the calories. Artificial sweeteners mean they can have their cake and eat it too. But don’t tell people it’s bad for them. They actually already know this, but they don’t care. Sugar is addicting, and like most addictions, people don’t want pleasure to be taken from them. What are your thoughts??
My thoughts are that your OP may be the dumbest thing that I have read all day. Possibly all week. I will let you know on Saturday.0 -
I've already written an article with my thoughts http://cdnutritionandfitness.com/aspartame-is-the-devil/
I get people telling me all the time that I should stop drinking my diet drinks. I can't even be bothered arguing anymore. At least when I die of cancer, I will be lean0 -

I wonder if she would have admitted that if people didn't argue against it.
BTW love the new pic!0 -

Food can be palatable without sweetening it and there are all kinds of natural sweeteners available to meet any sweetening need so there is no real need for artificial sweeteners. At least we know how the body responds to natural sweeteners.0 -
LOL
Anyhow, in...
...this flame-baiting post.0 -
I think it's none of my damn business what other people put in their food, and if the thought even enters my head to tell someone else a food is bad for them or lecture them on eating habits in general then it is probably time to re-evaluate my priorities and get a hobby.0

Indeed we do. It pretty much doesn't.0 -
Absolutely Don't get what the big deal is anyway? Opinions vary, a lot of people getting all pissy for what? Cause somebody didn't share their opinion?0

You're entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts.0 -

I eliminated a lot of pain in my hands and feet when I switched to all natural; agave nectar.0

You mean we can't go with "I reject your reality and substitute my own?"

Indeed, indeed. No one got pissy, except maybe you, who started calling people names.0 -
