Scary event at a Tough Mudder

So I was participating in a Tough Mudder last week by myself. It was a lot of fun and quite challenging. However, I had a bit of a traumatic experience and I need some support in understanding what happened and what I should do about it.
I came up to an obstacle that was basically a pyramid of monkey bars. I felt confident that I could make it and started out quite well. However, I started slowing considerably by the halfway point. A sense of black, foreboding doom came over me. Like death was creeping up my back door. This distracted me and I slowed even further. The bars started shaking, it was coming all right...it was coming for me. Fumbling, I tried to make it through the last few rungs but it had caught me. A tank of a human being was right on top of me. I could feel it breathing on my neck. As I struggled to dismount the rungs, I heard it whisper "Tonight....YOU".
I ran off without looking back, terrified of what I would see.
A friend captured part of this event and turned it into some animated evidence:
What should I do with these feelings of inadequacy? This lingering fear in my heart? What happens when "tonight" finally comes?
Sincerely,
Terrified in Vegas

Next time bring the pepper spray. And your dog.0

The TM was terrifying. I got chased by a guy with a golf club. Apparently there is photo evidence.0

I just got a PM from another MFP member indicating that this same shady character was following them in another part of the event!
Who the hell brings a golf club (the most dangerous weapon of all time) to a Tough Mudder? Is nothing sacred?0 -
This is why I don't do cardio.0

BTW2 didn't "tonight" already happen? shouldn't you be releived by now and in the clear?0
-
you're lucky to be alive! i hope you reported that guy to the proper authorities so that other people won't be (potentially) victimized by him again!0

This is an excellent point.
You're pretty much Sherlock Holmes. Well done.0 -
ROFL!!!0

I can't believe you people are making jokes about this obviously serious situation.
OP, did you call 911? If not, why not? Call them right now!
Were you armed? Why didn't you deal with what is essentially an attack w/ the deadly force you were within your rights to use?
But seriously, you people should be ashamed of yourselves. This is *not* what MFP forums are for.

I think I missed something
OP is the guy in the blue shirt...
...the guy that was being chased, intimidated and threatened.0 -

This is why you should bring a gun, a knife, and pepper spray with you to all TM events.0

I thought it was why you should stay home, in your basement, and board up all your windows.0 -

yes
Then you missed nothing and are fully up-to-speed on everything you need to know to suggest that OP take drastic steps to be better prepared to deal with this kind of assault.
OP, perhaps next time go backwards so no one can sneak up on you?0 -

Can't you just do the equivalent of a TM on your treadmill in the basement? Assuming it has an incline feature, of course.0 -

If you have a mini-trampoline (which I do) then you are in business!0 -
^ really the above are good suggestions. i just bought a nice mud masque and can slather that one before heading down to the basement and jumping on the treadmill, also I just remembered I have an inflatable kiddie pool that I can put some masque and water into. i think I'm set.0

You gotta keep a kit in your trunk to deal with this Dope....
Essential items:
Duct tape
Rope
Chloroform
Wheelchair
Shovel
Gloves (unless you wanna get busted for fame)0 -

This would of course be the safest route.
However as a woman, I can't really run without my uterus falling out.
And I hear its not manly for dudes to run.
So maybe staying in bed is the best option.
Plus, TBH, going into the basement alone? What, do you have a death wish or something?0 -

*Makes note to add gas can, bleach, and matches to the special trunk kit.*0
