Instead of making a pasta bake tonight, I decided to basically do the keto version with no pasta just meat, sauce, veggies, and cheese. I've already been eating too many carbs today, so this makes me feel better even though I haven't done it yet today.

I can't remember the last time I had acid reflux 😁32

After years of not fitting into knee high boots, I finally bought a pair that not only fit but I have room to tuck my fingers in the top to adjust my socks!! And their not even wide calf boots. 😊😊22

It takes persistence and not kicking yourself when you slip up. We all do from time to time. Just dust yourself off and continue on your healthy lifestyle journey. We all deserve that.6 -
I punched two new holes in my belt a while back, needing the first but not expecting to use the second, perhaps ever. Today, that's where it is done up! There are 15cm (6") between the hole I was using when I was at my largest in around 2014 and where I am today. Where my belt does up does depend a bit on what trousers I am wearing. But 15cm! The pens in the photo mark the belthole I once used and the belthole I am using today. (Sorry the picture is so fuzzy.)

I saw my APRN yesterday. She was thrilled with the progress I've made. My labs and blood pressure were good. My fasting gluclose was higher than I would like but at this point she is not concerned. She feels I am well on my way to preventing diabetes. I told her I would like to lose another 20-25 pounds and see how I feel then. (I will be in the mid-range of overweight according to BMI charts.) She thought that was great and told me that "BMI's can be brutal and not to be to concerned about that." I was extremely happy! It has been a long time since I've gotten such a good report.17

I got on the scale and my weight was up about 3 pounds from 1.5 weeks ago (not trying to gain, actually trying to lose a few/body recomp). #1: This didn't get me down as I know my weight fluctuates wildly and #2: A pair of jeans I bought about 6 weeks ago fit a little bit looser, even though I've already washed them a couple of times.20

Had to exchange for a size medium, have not done that in a decade. Can’t take the smile off my face!22

Noticing a big change in my stomach, sides and back.16

I put on a pair of capri's I haven't worn since summer of 2020. They were so big, that they kept sliding down.16

I notice I’m moving more in between actual exercise. When I’m carrying extra weight my body doesn’t enjoy movement as much because it’s hard work, but at a lighter weight I’m naturally bouncy.17

sat down this morning while dressing and noticed my belly is starting to look a little less stretched. It is starting to resemble a deflated balloon (slightly!).13

In 2014 I found this red, suede, bomber jacket in a thrift store and bought it because I loved it. I've worn it some since then, but as an open jacket because NO WAY would it zip.
Today? It zips with room to spare.30 -
Also, as someone who didn't start weighing myself (at all, ever) until way late, NSVs like this feel like the only thing that MEANS anything. I know the weight I started trying to be healthier, but there's no way for me to gauge my weight (as in numbers) compared to other points in my life except 'lower than when I started'. "This Jacket has never fit me/zipped closed" is measurable.14

I have noticed this as well. I am just more likely to bop along to music, or run up the stairs. It makes life a bit more fun18 -

This is a victory as far away from a scale that can be. Last Friday I invited my ex wife over for dinner and a talk. We aired all out grievances and said everything that need to be said. We made a pact to start fresh, have a friendship that looks to the future, not the past. So freeing and conscious cleansing.40

Multi-part non-scale victory: If I'm honest, I've envied my little sister's shape from time to time--she's almost as tall as I am (I'm 6') and I struggle with my weight skyrocketing way more than she does. She's not petite; she's healthy. And dedicated to a mindfulness I don't seem to easily maintain.
COVID messed with me, and last summer I was back up at my high weight from a decade ago, plus some HBP, depression, and lethargy. At Christmas, after about four months of dedication to eating better and exercising more, I visited my family. Sis had a pile of clothes ready for Goodwill, and she let me go through them. I ended up needing to mail myself a box full of new items for my wardrobe--a huge deal since I'd gotten rid of several large garbage bags of stuff that no longer fit me! (And my girl dresses cute, so now I'm feeling great!)
Second part: a couple of her items at Christmas were a little snug yet, and I'm pleased to report that as of this week, they all fit great. Also, my BP is normal, my energy is up, muscle definition is way improved, and I'm flexible (due to yoga) in ways I didn't know I could be. Saw a pic of myself with some friends and didn't feel like the elephant in the room... and I have the confidence to try dating again.31 -
Well, it's official. Every single piece of too small clothing that I've kept in various closets in a growing list since 1999 fits. Every single one. Every suit, every swimsuit, every pair of jeans, every evening gown. I'm stunned. AND I think it's time to purge a whole lot of clothes and mental baggage.

I went on a two week "diet break" where I ate pretty much at maintenance and did extra strength training, and I got right back on plan afterwards without issues. I was worried about that in the beginning but now have a whole lot more confidence knowing I can. (My weight stayed relatively stable too which is also encouraging.)27

Positive: Clothes are all too big
Negative: Clothes are all too big34 -
I donated all of my all clothes. They are all too big for me now. Thousands of dollars worth and lots of memorys.

My most recent NSV is the fact that I fit into the jeans that I wore before I met my fiancé and ended up gaining so much weight from him wining and dining me!22

You missed the chance to just get a cup of Sonic ICE which is BOMB! But good on you for saying no! I can never turn down ice cream!8 -
