So, last January I bought a diet/fitness tracking workbook and page one was weight, measurements and goals. I took the measurements and wrote down my goals and then folded taped the page shut. I was thinking yesterday my ankles were especially swollen (they are) and went to that old workbook that had my stats written down so I could verify what I was thinking.
My goal “lose 50’pounds”… I’m down 55 from that recorded weight (125’total) which is a scale victory, obviously , but the NSV here is looking through the early pages of that book, how much I was eating (1300 calories) , the exercises I was focusing on, the small victories I was recording (not eating McDonalds with my family, making better choices, etc.) … guys, I’m a whole new person.
I met my recorded goals. I exceeded my highest wishes for myself and I am just so proud of what I have done. I have medical conditions that limit what I can do, but I’m 100% committed to building health and wellness in my body despite those other issues.

@IAmTheGlue Awesome NSV! I feel a little left hanging, though, lol. I was expecting your NSV to be your now swollen ankles are smaller in diameter than your previous ankle measurement, sans swelling.2

I was actually expecting that as well, like maybe it looked more swollen because of something else being smaller, my ankles just looked bigger but no it’s actually more swollen than it used to be. It did use to be swollen as I have had edema for years. I have two rare autoimmune bile duct diseases that have put me in cirrhosis. Being in cirrhosis tends to cause me some ascites and edema, hence the ankle swelling… I’m pushing through though.
The NSV here is I’m just better overall. I’ve lost a lot of weight. I’m in a size 8 😮 and I’m properly fueling my body. I’m super active and 1300 calories would no longer cut it. I need fuel so I can keep pushing my body. I just feel better. I’m just so happy about how far I’ve come despite my physical body fighting me the whole way. 💪

NSV - I've been on a long, long holding pattern for months (mostly due to life overtaking my normal efforts and having a lack of motivation) but even with all that, I was able to take a business trip without any limitations to my movement, my ability to walk, or any issues with seatbelts or seats. I had a ton of stamina and walked long distances while carrying luggage without needing to stop or rest. So, even though I'm still twenty to thirty pounds above goal and still have more bulges than I want, my life is still entirely transformed.27

I was able to put on my Ariat boots without my husband’s help. I guess I’ve lost some weight in my feet, they slipped right on. It’s usually a struggle. 🤪11

I can ride 100 miles! Last year this would have been impossible (even 10 miles was very taxing), but now it is a thing I can do on weekends.15

The scale was up today, but I'm not beating myself up. I know where and how I derailed even without consistent logging (trying to get back in that habit). But I remember when I start trying to lose weight, things don't go the way I expect for a number of reasons, so my weight almost always goes up initially. So not being frustrated about it today. I know this is a weird one and very small to boot, but I am working on the mental side as much as the physical; I'll take my wins on any front.19

Amazing!!! Seriously, that’s so awesome. My dad got heavy into biking when I was a kid and would go out 50 miles at a time which I always thought was an insane amount and here you are doubling it! 💪5 -
Bought a white linen top a few months ago and was sad to realize I couldn't button it over my tummy. Pulled it out a few days ago and it was LOOSE!20

I did! Or I lost the fat from behind my ears, maybe? Anyway, I notice that my earlobes seem to hang rather than being pushed out at an angle. And at my highest, I always had problems with altitude changes affecting my inner ear. I *had* to wear ear plugs on planes or I would suffer. Now I don't have issues.
And the award for weirdest weight loss change goes to...maybe me?
ETA: also, what I came here to post--I just came back from a fabulous trip of a lifetime. 10 days in Australia, 20 in New Zealand. Did I gain weight, eating out every single meal? Yes, I did. Do I know how to drop it back off? Yes I do!
And all those thirty days, all the airplanes and tour buses and taxis and Lyfts and trains and all--Every Single Seatbelt Fit. I didn't have to ask for help or an extender ONCE.26 -

Its been a wet fall, so my jeans have been getting soaked through, and are all in the laundry basket. I pulled out a pair I bought last summer that fit well when I bought them. Put them on, zipped them up and walked out of the room and as I was walking, they FELL OFF MY BUTT.
Had to do laundry to get a clean pair to wear, because even with a belt on, they didn't feel comfortable, the waistband was all bunched up. I’ve only worn and washed them once. Those and another pair bought at the same time are on MarketPlace for sale and hopefully will give another lady nice jeans at a bargain price.9 -
I'm gonna buy this new winter coat that I love and no way could have fit into 9 months ago when I started my journey.13

Well no one will know you brought it on sale. I would try to sell it and then put the money towards a new smaller coat. Who knows maybe you will be lucky and someone will also be selling a coat they’ve hardly worn and sized out of4 -
I've had to strategically buy clothes over the past few months. I've lost 122 but I still have 35 to go, so I've been buying just enough clothes to keep me going till my goal15

Trying to train myself to eat 2 slices of pizza at a sitting instead of 3 slices. Had pizza last night for dinner and felt full after 2 slices. So, yay?24

Congratulations on graduating to a new size class!
Some people find that they are colder after weight loss. Before you get rid of your new coat, see if maybe you'll actually want to use some of that extra space for another layer or two. Even more than the sweater. Depending how cold it is. Or if it's REALLY too big, get it to someone who can use it.
I bought some nice clothes right before I started to successfully lose weight a few years ago. It was for a life event for someone in my family. I usually don't wear dress-up clothes. All my old ones were way too tight, and of course "out of fashion." I mean, who wears pants with pleats? I digress.
I got a nice pair of slacks and a couple dress shirts. I had the slacks altered to fit right. I wore them to the event. That was fine.
I had another life event a couple years later. I tried on the brand new clothes. I looked like a schlub. So sad. They were worn for one weekend. I might get the slack altered again if it won't make them look goofy. The shirt - well, I'm not in to baggy clothes, but I can wear it if I really need. But it's really too big. I was fortunate to find a nice pair of slacks that fit at a second-hand store. For fun, I tried on my old slacks, and while they fit, they really are out of style. I'm not that stylish, but this was a special event.4 -

Yesterday I learned a new term following an EKG for an upcoming medical procedure - sinus bradycardia.
It's a heart rhythm that's slower than expected (fewer than 60 beats per minute for an adult) but otherwise normal. It could be indicative of certain heart conditions or just a sign that a person is in very good shape because of regular exercise.
I would have NEVER imagined this would have ever applied to me - I am tremendously proud of this NSV.

Not to burst your bubble but it doesn't necessarily mean you're in good condition.
I have a heart rate under 50 and I an over weight and out of shape old man.
Bradycardia is just another condition that happens as people age.
You may actually be in great condition but maybe there's another reason.

Point taken. That being said, I am in great condition and have no other health concerns.12 -
My NSV is that I am finally losing inches from my waist. Of course I have lost inches everywhere after a 90+ lb weight loss, but my waist has been lagging behind the rest of my measurements. I take my measurements monthly and some months my waist has not decreased at all. The most I have lost in a month was one inch. That changed this month. I lost a full 2 inches in my waist! I don't know if it's because I added weight training to my routine or if my body just decided it was time to let go of the fat in my mid-section. Lol.15

Ran a half marathon in less than two and a half hours.29

I went shopping over the weekend. Knowing I could walk into any store and they would have something in my size was SUCH a good feeling. Not something I've always been able to do.22

I had three rolls of back fat.
I now have two rolls and a faint crease.
I'm doing something right!34 -
Can walk down the stairs without having to take them one at a time. My knees feel so much better.

I've walked 5000 steps each day yesterday and the day before! Still not the recommended amount but I feel it in my legs!22
