My belt is one notch tighter this week...23

In November I was deadlifting and hurt my back. About 8 weeks of pain and feeling sorry for myself went by and I decided to start from the bottom and work my way back up to where I was. about a month ago my top set on stronglifts 5x5 was the weight that hurt my back. This morning was the weight I was working up to on that day. I lifted it and felt so good I was able to make my last rep into a double. Now I still have a bit of back pain now and then but I'm getting better.
Next goal 400lbs.19 -
I made it to the gym for the first time in 2 months. Plus, I didn't use the excuse that the BF wasn't going to go with me.24

1. I've been having bad dreams lately, related to a tragedy our family suffered a few months ago. My NSV is that in my bad dream last night, when something else bad happened, I went to the gym to help me cope and ate salads! My habits have even changed in my nightmares!
2. After 80 days of logging and gradually moving more, I have more energy to do things around the house. I used to collapse on the couch after dinner. Last night I washed all the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen before sitting down! Baby steps!34 -
My daughter's 6th birthday was yesterday. I took cupcakes for her class. I passed them out to every kid and staff. But I did NOT have any of them. Before I would have wanted to roll around in them!!32

Had cataract op this morning and the nurse said my BP was perfect (actually better than hers) this time last year was on 2 BP tablets. Hooray for weight loss and exercise30

That made me laugh out loud! I have a golden retriever who lives to wallow in puddles, the muddier the better. And your comment made me realize that that's exactly how I still feel about certain foods. Thanks for that mental picture. Its going to be a huge help to me17 -

Major props. Not sure I could have done that!7 -
A coworker of mine had a work anniversary yesterday and I said no to free cake. Chocolate cake.35

Out in-house fitness person, is referring people to me, to discuss weight loss.29

Leaving work without taking one of the chocolates I was eyeing all day22

Finally bought a new pair of jeans last night and discovered I went down two sizes. I put elastic in the waist band of my old pants so I really had no idea.28

Today I walked 20000 steps! I normally aim for 8500 having a desk job, but the school had an end of term disco for my two, so on top of my 8500 I managed during the work day, I walked to and from the school 3 times this evening. Very proud of my two children too as they did it twice...here's hoping I get a lie in tomorrow morning!20

I enjoy my workouts and have a cumulative distance goal I'm trying to reach by April 30th. But we're going on vacation in a couple of weeks and I was bummed about losing that week.
At the suggestion of my supportive hubs, I just talked to the local Y down there and I'm all set to use their facilities, and we can bring the family for swimming! Bonus!23 -
Comfortably sliding into a smaller sized pair of jeans! Size large t-shirts and not having the big belly bulge, the shirt is loose in front.19

I fit into a Medium T-shirt for the first time in my adult life! EEK!!32

Which is why I'm buying dresses instead of pants theses days. Takes a bit longer for them to look baggy on me. I was going through pants so fast, it was getting ridiculous.
mmmm then again... probably not an option for you
Haha, indeed not for us. Although really, if I could just wear a majestic robe of some sort until this process is over, that would be great. Honestly, today I wore a pair of pants that no longer stay up even WITH my belt. Work has been fun.32 -
My wedding ring is slipping OFF of my finger!!! It keeps turning around and it's slowly inching up to my knuckle. In a way, that's great but in a way, not so much. I'm scared of losing it!
I'm having the same issue but I'm not ready to have it sized yet. I'm thinking a ring guard will do the trick. Congrats on your NSV!9 -
Today I ran for 10 minutes. I felt like Wonder Woman; then I felt silly because someone who can barely run 10 minutes isn't exactly superhero material. Still, I'm proud of myself.54

My son in law said tonight that he had to do a double take because he didn't recognize me. hadn't seen him since Christmas.30

I climbed up/down 20 flights of, stairs for; exercise yesterday! Yet I typically don't have the, energy to; even do half that daily!24

My smaller jeans fit again!22

I keep resisting the urge to weigh in. I'm trying to develop healthy habits that keep back pain and depression at bay. The chronic back pain is under control, and I'm getting better at identifying depression triggers and avoiding them. It would be lovely if I could do all this and weigh less, but I don't find myself fixated on my body size like I used to.25

I needed to cycle 31.12 miles to make a total of 400 miles for March. I worked out that, if my DH looked after the children, made the dinner and got my son ready for cadets, that I had three hours, which was plenty of time to get those in. Luckily he agreed.
So, off I went. It was windy (what a surprise) but dry so that was good enough. I stopped to take my coat off as I was getting too hot and found that I was cycling at a faster speed than usual. So I decided to do a slightly easier route in order to get the miles in. Plus I'd already been up those hills loads of times this week and didn't feel the need to do them again The easier route takes me further from home but that was okay.
I saw some really cute lambs - they weren't very old but they made me go "ahhhh!". They could only have been born within the last couple of days. So sweet. No time for photos as I was on a time limit.
I'm doing really well, going at a great pace despite misjudging the wind and ending up cycling miles in a headwind. Ooops. Too late to change things so had to carry on.
Then (minor) disaster. My bike started making odd noises. At first I thought it was the road, then I realised that it was the bike. I stopped and found a flat (ish) tyre. So annoying. I didn't have a spare tube or tyre (stupid mistake to make) which would have been the quickest way to repair it so had to ring my DH. He laughed at me and said he'd be with me shortly.
So he turns up, walks across to me laughing and that sets me off as well. Once we've recovered from dying with laughter, DH repairs the tyre. Good job he came out as when I'd tried to undo the nuts on the rear tyre (I did have some kit with me) before he got there, I couldn't shift them as he'd done them up so tightly last time he fixed the bike. I'm changing the nuts on those for wing-nuts.
DH drives off leaving me to carry on. I decide to head straight for home as I'm 10 miles away and have less than an hour to get there, most of it is uphill, so I may get back in time to get my son to cadets.
I have never cycled as hard as I did during that less-than-an-hour. Got back just as my son was getting into my husband's car so we swapped over, I took my son to cadets (as I needed to get milk whilst out) and my husband put my bike away.
Checked my biking mileage upon my return and found that (as expected) I was under my target. By 11.12 miles. I was so annoyed. It was still daylight. I was really, really annoyed, so DH asked me what the problem was. I told him and he just said "go and do it now then". Despite the fact that he'd looked after the children, fed the children, got my son ready for cadets and fixed my bike, he was still willing to continue dealing with things so that I could have peace of mind (as it really was eating at me).
So off I went again. Getting darker by the second. I stuck to the cycle paths and cycled really fast (for me). A mile from home DH rang as it was VERY dark by this point, told him I'd be 10 minutes and rang off. Cycled even faster, and made it home. Put the bike away, checked my mileage and . . . . . .
. . . . I'd done it. 400 miles over the course of a month. It may not sound much, but considering the weather has been so awful, I'm pretty pleased with that. Of course, it's nothing compared to the 800 miles I did last September but there were more daylight hours, better weather and I didn't have so many constraints on my time as I've had this month. Plus I'd only managed to get out on 19 days out of 31 in March, making it a 21 miles a day average. So a good result I think.
But that's not all.
I've also walked 110 miles and been to the gym 26 times during March.
And DH has just informed me that it's going to rain this afternoon so if I want to avoid getting wet, I'll need to get cycling straight away . . . .
. . . . so off I go again

um, yeah. so i made a pr deadlift today. by one pound, but i can't even remember when i supposedly did the previous one, so imo it counts.
and then just to make sure that it really happened, i did it twice more.
i'm happy because it's not much but it's progress.30 -
Went for a 6 mile trail walk today.
My feet hurt and I'm oddly ok with it:).25
