Just moved from XXL to XL belt.25

Well I can finally fit comfortably into one of my shorts. I'm feeling brave enough to wear my denim shorts tomorrow and go out for a walk since it will be warm outside. Last time I wore regular shorts and walked outside I think I was in high school. I never liked how shorts looked on me. I'm enjoying these mini rewards as I slowly lose weight.25

I went for a run for the second time so far this season. After 5 months off (winter), I thought it'd take a couple weeks to be able to run my 5.3km again. Nope! Did it today and it felt fantastic!! A year ago, I couldn't run 100m, never mind 5km.
Also felt a lot smoother and stronger somehow. My core work over the last months ACTUALLY made a difference!
While running, I passed a lot of people on the path. I didn't feel self conscious, like I was the "fat girl trying to lose weight". I felt legitimately athletic and no shame. I enjoyed every moment of my run!

I went for a walk today and I had to get down the street to my car before the doors automatically locked so I broke into a jog. I not only made it time but wasn't even out of breath and considered for a moment continuing to jog on my walk. I didn't, but only because today I was skyping with my bff from a different town while walking so it would have been too hard to do that and I hadn't spoken to her all week.
But I WANTED to jog.
Also, we had a brunch for Easter at work today and I found out that sooooo many of my coworkers are on similar journeys (I knew a couple of them were) and it makes me so happy because we all were to positive and supportive of each other.25 -

There was also an uncomfortable amount of bounce on my run yesterday, so it looks like new sports bras too. I just got home from my run and noticed the bounce too. Ugh and I *just* bought new sports bras! I guess it's good that I'm shrinking but buying bras is expensive!!!13 -

This is wonderful. It's amazing what losing weight does for a person.
I'm having to get used to all of these feelings for the first time as I've always been overweight/obese, from childhood. It's a whole new world for me.
The issue I've been trying to deal with at the moment is how uncomfortable I am due to bones sticking out everywhere. It was my spine today, even sitting on a sofa, or in my DH's very comfortable car were causing pain today. Lying on my side in bed, every time a bone is near a surface (those funny round bits on the clavicle are usually red due to being under my bra straps) it's uncomfortable, bordering on painful.
But better that than how I used to be
It IS wonderful!! I'm sorry that your bones are so uncomfortable but yet so excited that it's "better than it used to be."
I remember having similar (yet backwards) experiences as I put on weight. Things like noticing that my stomach was resting on my thighs as I sat, or my legs rubbing through the inner thigh portion of my jeans..all new experiences for me when they first started happening!
Also, your posts about your bike rides and time with the kids gives me hope! I've got 2 kids now and we don't feel done yet so I know it will be a bit but I'm anticipating (but not wishing away these days) the days when I shall go out and RUN again! Hahaha!10 -
Today I was on my run. (Really walk/jog) but it was week 6, day 1 of C25K. For those who haven't done it, or don't have the days memorized (who would really?) its 5 minute warmup, 5 minute jog, 3 minute walk, 8 minute jog, 3 minute walk, 5 minute jog, cool down. Well I was on my last 5 minute jog and struggling a bit and I did the 20 minute jog yesterday (!!! Another NSV for me) and my legs were tired. So I checked the time on my phone, and I thought "oh, at least there's only 3 minutes left." ONLY THREE MINUTES. 30 seconds used to kill me.
So I may not be a fast runner, or even distance yet, but there's definitely been progress.27 -
I've got a few:
1. The capris I posted on here before that were too small but I was happy about it because that meant they would fit in a month or so, now fit. Thay are very cute, and whenever I wear them I feel skinny. Really I keep looking at myself in the full length mirror.
2. I wore a belt I haven't worn since graduate school (25 years ago). 25 years ago I wore it 2 holes tighter, but I'm positive I'll get there.
3. Even though I've been having a very stressful time at work and home I haven't been indulging. I have been less strict with the calories to be kinder to myself, but still eating healthy and with a deficit. My weight loss might slow a bit but, shrug, I know I'll get there and it's not a race.
4. Rather than just taking the day off exercise on Sunday, since I am spending the day with my parents for Easter, I am trying to figure out how to get exercise in.18 -
Went to the doctor for my yearly physical. my blood pressure was 100 over 62. Used to be 130 over 8035

My NSV is I made it to my first full week of cross-fit classes with the regular classes 3 times this week. I am feeling it but is a great way.....it is such a challenge every class21

I've realized that it's so much easier for me to stick to my deficit if I'm working towards a fitness goal, rather than a weight loss goal. Now that I've signed up for a 5k in July, it's so much easier for me to say 'no' to extra treats!
Also, I signed up for my first 5k!29 -

Me too. If I'm not actively training for something, I lose focus.
I always wear a RoadID bracelet with my medical and emergency contact info on it. Normally, I use a grey band, but when I'm training, I use a neon green one. It's a nice reminder of what I'm working on.15 -
I ran to work yesterday! 4.5 miles!! Apparently I CAN be one of those people who multi-tasks their workout with their commute. Took a bit of prep the day before (change of clothes etc.) but totally worth it. I think I want to try running to work twice a week
I had to run past my college (yes I am one of those post-grads who lives 5 minutes away from their alma mater LOL) and I kept thinking how I used to dread walking from one side of the college to the other. And here I was running past it all and then some.
Also a coworker saw me running, and instead of being like "oh GOD NO" like I used to be, I was pretty proud like, hey, yeah I did that. I ran to work35 -
I have a couple this last week.
1) my mini and I ran 2.5 miles straight on our C25K 2-mile run day. An extra half mile because we could!
2) I had 6 coworkers ask me how I've been losing so much weight and tell me I look amazing.
3) yesterday was another C25K running day; 10-1 minute runs with walk/jog for 90 seconds in between. I jogged between all but the last 2 runs, and that wasn't because I couldn't run, it was because the 11 & 12 year olds running with me were dying. I told them they were getting their a$$e$ kicked by an old lady. Lol. They stepped it up for a couple of the jogs, but then just couldn't do it. So we walked.
4) I am 0.9 lbs away from "normal" weight for my height!31 -
Had to get measured for a tux in a wedding. My last suit I owned was a 52 for coat size. After measuring I was guessing it would be a 50. The guy told me I was a 46! And instead of regular size suit I actually was able to wear the slim fit! It looks so good! Can't wait to buy another suit soon!33

When I got to maintenance I decided I needed fitness goals instead of weight loss goals so I started c25k. I lost an additional 10 pounds. Fitness goals are the way to go, lol. Comgrats on the 5k. I also signed up for my first 5k. I'm pretty excited!22 -
I have been frustrated recently- as I have been maintaining a 50 pound loss for about 6 months from 195-200 (6'1"), but I was TRYING to lose .5 pounds a week (or a little less). According to my logs, I should be successful- but I suspect I have been a bit slopping with them- not always adding in the licks, nibbles, tastes, etc.
Ideally, I'd like to be maintaining between 190-195, but I'm working on accepting for now as I don't feel like cutting much. Will experiment with upping my activity a bit in the spring/summer.
To cheer myself up, I thought I'd measure myself to see how I'm doing inch wise.
Overall- down 26.5 inches since I started!
Chest 45.5--41
Waist--43.5--37
Hips 49---43
Thigh 28.5---23
Calf 17.5--16
Arm 15--12.528 -
I did my first 5K last week. 46:21 by my watch. I was hoping for better than 50, so I was happy.
Did a 5K Park run today and almost broke 40. 40:02 according to the official time (40:58 by my watch but I forgot to turn it off right away).29 -
Oh dear. Worn out yet another set of brake pads on my bike.
Had to resort to using the front brakes today down my crazy hills. I hate using the front brakes as I have a mortal fear that I will pull them on too hard and go flying over the handlebars (I have actually seen this happen to a woman who was learning to ride; I don't think that anyone told her to gently squeeze the brakes on).12 -

I didn't eat it just because it was there.
I had to google 'pickle fries' and now I want to try them so bad. They look delicious!!6 -

Try checking with a specialty bra shop if you have any in your area! I spent quite a bit of money on my sports bra (~$70), but it was fitted by professionals so I have practically no bounce when running like I do with my cheaper bras. But the best part is that they told me at the shop that they would continue to provide alterations to the bra for me and take it in as I lost weight! So it's a large investment up front, but fits a lot longer since they will make it smaller for you!

I rummaged through some of my 'thin' clothes that haven't fit for 5 or 6 years. The olive colored pair I loved before fits again. I also found a really cute pair of capris in a 14 and they fit.20

Biggest NSV and lesson learned in my first 100 days, as long as i maintain a caloric deficit and see changes in my body inches then I don't have to worry about the weight fluctuations on my scale. I thinking I'm caring less about the weight from my scale and becoming more obsessed with my inches.23

1) I was able to complete a 13 mile run and keep up with my running group, its been over 2 years since I have been able to run that far.
2) I am able to fit into my favourite dress without looking 4 months pregnant, it used to fit but I had a large tummy bulge that the dress accentuated, now I can wear it and it looks great!28 -
Sort of a sweet irony, non-scale-fail. Bought new shorts that are too big, realizing I've dropped another size in the blink of an eye.26

I am wearing size L shirts instead of XL for the first time in a decade!32

Bye bye 6 black bags full of clothes

Just ran(jogged) 2.75 miles straight! 5K, you are so close I can almost reach you!!! Only 0.35 miles to go!!
C25K graduation isn't until May 12, but I have a feeling that I'll be able to get the distance before that. That'll give me a couple weeks to work in speed before the 5K Glow Run on the 27th.20 -
Bought a new pair of jeans that were about a size too small for motivation. I was in a hurry getting ready to leave the house and grabbed those instead of one of the stretched out comfy pairs. They fit!!!37

This one is technically a scale victory, I guess, but I wanted to share!
Yesterday was my wedding anniversary. I'm not yet back to my wedding weight (although I'm edging closer!), but I'm the lightest I've been in probably 26 years now. I can also wear my wedding ring all day, which makes me happy!44
