Oh, yes! I love to play at the park now, especially on the swings (now that my formerly-enormous backside will fit on the seats!18 -
The last week in April I bought a new skirt for work in my usual size large. This month I had to start using safety pins to keep it from falling off! I finally altered the waistband last night and I'll be buying a replacement next week. Size medium here I come!25

I went to a polo festival today and bought a polo shirt in small. Never thought that would happen.22

I did two sets of band-assisted chin ups at the dojo on Thursday ^_^
I've been losing weight really slowly lately (I'm down about 5lb since Easter) as I'm into the last 10-15lb, so NSVs are where it's at right now.22 -
My arms hold my most stubborn fat! They are really starting to shrink now to match the rest of me FINALLY... the last area to go! For everyone who thinks that One area just won't respond, keep dropping your weight and lifting... you may be thinner than you'd like to be in the end, but it Will come off!24

Realised today that my chest is now bigger than my stomach! Stomach sticks out a bit more because of the curve of the back but it's a huge milestone for me! I'm a former high level rugby player but even at my fittest I don't think my stomach was ever smaller than my chest25

Two piece bathing suit arrived, looks super cute! Last year this time I wouldn't be caught dead in a bathing suit, much less a two piece.20

I've been eating horribly lately and went on a junk food kick when I went shopping recently. Well, something clicked today and as I was reaching for the M&Ms I realized I didn't really need/want all this sugary candy. I threw away 3 full size Hershey's bars and a family size bag of peanut butter M&Ms. I'm hoping I can now get back on track food wise and go back to my way of making room for a sweet treat in my calories each day (usually a piece of dove chocolate) without going overboard.27

My husband sent me a pic of myself and my son at the zoo today and and I literally responded with "OMG is that me?!!!!?" It was a great feeling27

Had a few this week:
1. Had pizza on Thursday and only had three slices! Normally I finish off the whole thing.
2. I've been to the gym four days a week for two weeks. Early days yet but still happy about it.
3. This one's sort of scale related but it's more a habit: I found a spreadsheet on r/fitness and have been inputting my weight and kj's for each day and I'm enjoying looking at the trends. The scale itself isn't a source of frustration and demotivation anymore - just a data point that I'm curious about now.30 -

I did something similar this week. Got hit with a sweets craving while shopping and went overboard. Thankfully it's all gone now and I can hopefully get back on track too.
My NSV for this week is doing a 6 hour hike on Thursday and wanting to go again the next day!16 -
I'm wearing size 12 shorts!31

This is super-important only to me, but I was always closer to my Grammy than my parents (though they're awesome people) and used to wear a ring size 5.5
When I gained weight, I couldn't wear her size 7 Emerald and Diamond ring *that my Mom decided should go to me* anymore and it really bothered me. Now I can wear my Gram's ring again with room to spare (it's a 7). Finally. And unlike my previous "a bit too skinny" state...I'm only down to 148, so right now the ring actually fits perfectly for the first time ever.26 -

I was so surprised at how differently it fit me! It really drove home that I was losing weight.
i know this one . . . i used to have this set of underwear that i bought in my denial days, when i probably weighed in the low 150's. about two years ago i was really pleased because they fit, which was when i was down to the low 120's by then.
then i decided to eat a lot more because i was lifting, and re-gained 20 pounds. the thing is, i've been working on that, very slowly. i just resorted to the last surviving pair this past week, expecting to spend an uncomfortable vpl day because i'm still 10 pounds heavier than i was at that time . . . but they fit me right now.mgibbons22 wrote: »I do a little lifting for tone, and consequently the veins in my arms bulge out. I sent a picture to a friend in jail. She showed it to a friend, who said I would make a good drug addict.
i was pretty pleased when some nurse at the arthritis society commented on my 'good veins', back when i needed regular draws to watch for side-effects of the meds i was on.17 -
Made it to my first mini goal to log and try for 4 weeks! Regardless of how well I'm doing, I usually unconsciously sabotage myself on the 4th week and then drift off plan. I don't know why, there's no reasonable excuse!
So I made a conscious effort this time to set small goals, keep on it, and just try to flex my current eating rather than make loads of new changes.
Glad I did, I'm 10lbs down and a new hand bag heavier (the reward!).
Here's to the next 4 weeks.

Well, I delivered my paper at the conference yesterday, and it went great! Pretty pleased and proud of myself.
I think I spent more time in airports than at the university, but I'm glad I did it. Several times when I went into a bathroom and saw myself in a mirror I literally stopped to see if that was really me. I have a full-length mirror at home, but in pubic restrooms they are also wide and brightly lit so as I walked I could see myself move, how I walked, bent over to pick up something, etc. Truly, it stopped me in my tracks the first time. And the second time. Then again. Is that me?! Unbelievable.
I was so hungry by the end of the day (I'd been up since 2:30 AM and had a small breakfast then). So, when I was back in the airport at 3 PM, I just let myself eat at the restaurant: burger, fries, even a dessert ... For sure it was probably twice what I'd normally eat calorie-wise, if not more. But, I didn't sweat it. Funny thing is that I seem to be getting thinner lately though the scale doesn't move much. I didn't weigh myself today, but I feel / seem thinner.
Back to my routine today, back in the pool tomorrow ...44 -
My husband and I were at a soccer match yesterday and looking for shirts. He pointed one out for me and the conversation went:
HIM: What about this one?
ME: That's a kid's shirt.
HIM: Get it in a large.
Ok so it would still be too small (maybe a kid's xl or xxl) but it's clear I've lost weight now! Even to my husband who never says stuff about my weight!24 -
Went to a conference this week. My days were full, as were the evenings with vendor sponsored dinners.
I made the time to exercise late at night each day. I have never done that before.31 -
I went to the gym for the first time EVER at the weekend today. I usually only go during the week (usually in an attempt to undo all the "damage" I do at the weekend!)25

I've been lifting weights for several years now. I'm pretty happy with how I look in general, although my abs could be improved, but I thought I had been pretty much stagnating for the past year. I didn't really realize how much I've progressed in certain areas until today. I was trying on swimsuits in a dressing room and they had one of those mirrors that shows off every angle. That's when I saw the back end. I couldn't stop staring (and flexing) at my amazing back and shoulders...and everything! I didn't even know they looked like that. I looked like Wonder Woman up in that dressing room. For all I know, I've had this nice muscle definition back there for awhile now and I just never noticed. Huge ego boost! I gotta start wearing backless tops.41

Went too a Zumba class today...was high steppin' when I recalled that 4 years ago I thought about selling my home because (due to chronic injuries) I could barely walk up the stairs in my home! My weight has been steady for some time now...and that's where I need to be...increased intensity in terms of weight training plus other exercises that I enjoy (Zumba/walking/other) continue to pay off!37

I have a belt that I added an extra hole to when I was at my heaviest because it was too small. That belt no longer fits me now at my smallest, even after adding a hole because it was too big. I bought that belt when I was 15 or 16.
My wife says I should buy a new belt, but I hate to let this one go. Maybe I'll add another hole.31 -
My 14s are getting loose. It's almost time to move comfortably into the 12s I've been flirting with.
I consistently run 2-3 miles 3x per week.
I stared down the longest weight stall and summer eating challenges since
I started losing, and busted through with a nice whoosh.
We booked the 5 day kayak trip I have been wanting to take as a reward for losing the weight (80lbs lost and 20 to go).
Loving my new life so much.43 -

Take me with you! It's gonna be so much fun! (I have kayaking planned for this summer, but only short, day trips. A long, multi-day trip sounds amazing.)12 -
I successfully tried on some UK size 10 trousers on the weekend, for the first time in my adult life.27

My husband and I are currently on a 4-day trip to visit family out of state. He told me yesterday that he misses eating at home. What a change! We used to love getting free unhealthy food from family haha. But now both of us could just use a home cooked meal instead of pizzas or burgers.
NSV: I've been logging everything to the best of my ability. I have gotten a lot better at eating "off-book" in the year I've used MFP.26 -
I have 2 from this weekend. I got told I could squeeze by the luggage cart in the elevator. The other was more of a reaffirmation of the good that has come of losing some weight even though I've been stalled for a long time. We went offroading with the Jeep which also involves in and out of the jeep and walking around the rocks and mud and whatnot to go watch. I really enjoyed the improved coordination, balance, ease of moving, and less joint pain. That was even with having mildly tweaked my ankle at the beginning of the week, but no pain or honestly real worry of rolling it again.19

1) My son and I actually ran 3 miles today, in 43 minutes. Major achievement as that's almost the 5km! Our last run, we only did 4km in 42 minutes, so I don't know what's happened to up our speed as it didn't seem to be any faster than the usual plod. It did seem a lot further though Actually, it may have been a slightly more level run than the last one that took in a few slopes.
Had I known that we were a mere 171.78 metres from a 5km, we'd have kept on going. So, for our next run on Wednesday, we are just going to keep on running until we hit that 5km I'm going to alter my distance tracker from miles to km so that we can be certain of the distance.
2) We have registered with the "ParkRun" programme and want to do our first (timed) run a week Saturday. That gives us almost two weeks to get used to the distance before being "officially" timed.
Happy days!44 -
It's official!!! My size 4 shorts are too big!!! I am now at my goal pants size...the size I was almost 3 years ago, pre-prego, pre-depression (after 2 miscarriages) and pre-knee pain! I'm still slightly too big in my chest and arms for a size 6 dress (my old dress size, but I think that might because of the way my posture has changed and also the fact that it's more fat than muscle there, so I'm working on it). And...and...and... I know it's an SV but I'm 4.4 lbs away from my GW, and then it's time to really focus on toning and definition. Every day it's a new thing. Most people don't notice because in their words, "I've never been overweight." But a) you'd be surprised what you can hide with the right outfit. And b) even if I didn't look unhealthy I was a size 10/12, which is still overweight for a 5'4 woman. We are used to hearing that since that is the average size and so we assume it must be healthy. Not only that but I lived on a strict diet of bean burritos and chocolate, so it was only a matter of time.31
