2) Saw my oldest friend today, I haven't seen her since Christmas. At Christmas she gave me an odd look, a "I think that you may have lost weight but I'm too polite to say so" sort of look. At that point, I was 67lbs into my weight loss journey.
Today, she didn't even say "hello", it was "OMG! You've lost LOADS of weight!". Her face was a picture. Since Christmas I've lost a further 63lbs but it must be so much more noticeable, or maybe it's because I now wear clothes that fit rather than my old "fat" clothes that hung off me and disguised my weight loss (buying clothes that fit make SUCH a difference to how I look and, more importantly, how I FEEL).
She also made a point of telling her husband, as he opened the front door (he didn't even get into the house), that I'd lost weight.
I'd be willing to bet that the minute I left, she rang her sisters and parents to tell them as well (I've known her and her family for 32 years).
She also said that I could probably get back into my wedding dress now but before I could answer, my husband jumped in and said "No way, it's FAR too big for her now" (gotta love that man ). I said that my dress had been a (UK) size 18 and I was now between a (UK) size 12 and 10. My friend said that I am now SMALLER than she is (she's a 12/14) and that she has never known me so slim. ME - smaller than my friend who is TINY.
I still have a way to go, another 38lbs but I am really looking forward to getting there. My daughter also shocked me by saying that she's looking forward to seeing me at goal as well
And I cycled further today than usual, in the same amount of time (an extra mile!).
Good vibes all around!
I LOVE reading stories like these, where good friends are so excited over our successes. You read far too many of the opposite sort of thing.13 -
I am wearing a 34 DD bra. I haven't been beneath a DDD since I was 13 years old. Words cannot describe how elated I am at this.
Also, I totally look awesome in my bikini.29 -

My doctor told me July 15 that I have hypertension and might have to go on blood pressure pills (140/something). My BP is now normal (117/75) after 6 weeks of exercise and losing 14 pounds. No pills for me.34

And that's just so sad as friends should be just that, FRIENDS. No matter what.11 -

Yep - been doing this too. Great way to get through challenges and get the blood flowing at the office - I also stand at my desk more than 50 % of the time. Really helps keep the back problems I used to have at bay!

Last night after work, I was in back with the dog, saw all the weeds growing in one section. It was a jungle. No plan at all, but I just grabbed my work gloves and pulled weeds for 20 -25 minutes. Since it was on an incline, even better workout.14

Do it! such a rush to be able to do this stuff! Woot woot3 -
this morning i put on a belt with my favorite dress (it's a little big now), the last time i used the belt i think i had it on the first notch for like 10 minutes before i sat down and needed to increase it to the 2nd or 3rd. when i put it on today i was looking for notches where none exist. i'm currently sitting at my desk at the tightest notch and it's totally comfortable, a bit loose when i'm standing.11

I catch myself doing this too once in a while! It feels great!
Been on maintenance for a month and have started lifting heavier and I've lost 1" around my chest, which means I've lost some back fat!11 -
Alarae21, that dress is beautiful and you look wonderful in it!0

For some reasin i have a bunch today:
1) My husband challenged his sister to run/walk 100 miles in August. I thought I can do that, and walked 117 miles in August, beating them both.
2) I can buckle my belt on the fith (last) hole. When I started I couldn't even buckle on the first hole.
3) I went way over cals today (thai food and chocolate), I was tempted not you track, but that is a slippery slope, so I tracked every bite.24 -
Gone down a shoe size so have claimed 2 pairs of ballet flats from my 12 year old10

As I go along learning more about weightlifting and form, keeping my macros as close to recommendations as possible, actually resting on rest days, realizing instead of just knowing this IS a life long choice... tons of stuff. When I first started (after I finaly discovered CICO) I was just happy to drop weight with food, but as time went on, my goals for myself changed, and I'm more active than I have been in years. I guess my NSV in a nutshell is I'm very happy with the knowledge and action I am using to get to where I want to be and be the best me I can be. 'Cause after a while, needing to drop 2lbs a week just isn't working and you gotta find yourself or you might just get too discouraged and join the droves of people who may never make it... I hope that makes sense...
Absolutely makes sense! I started dieting this year to try to slim down and was very successful in a short time on the Atkins diet, Phase 1. Of course this is not a phase that is supposed to keep going, but I already looked so different and got so many astonished remarks and excited encouragement that I wanted to keep it going somehow. I found a wonderful book that mentioned MFP and taught me about CICO. Since MFP, I have been losing weight consistently and in the beginning stuck to everything in my goals stringently. I remember the feeling of panic the first time I went over my calories and hoped it would not lead to failure LOL Since then, I have learned that these changes are not about being perfect, it's about just moving on and keeping on doing it! After I realized that and lost more weight, (the total is almost 45 pounds today,) I began to actually begin wanting to exercise. (All done with just counting calories so far.) Just dropping the fat is not going to be enough for me. I want to be strong, lean and shapely. I want to have endurance and controlled grace in my body. I want to confidently wear a bikini!! I would have NEVER sincerely had these thoughts before and NEVER actually thought I could ever be capable of it, but I do now and that is crazy. I started this year just wanting to lose 25 pounds and not feel as big, so a total change of mind from one stage to another is a huge deal and more than just wanting to be lighter and smaller. =NSV22 -

My company just went from business casual/denim Friday's to an all denim dress code. The size 18's I wore on Friday (my former goal pants when I was a tight size 22 10 months ago) were getting a bit saggy. Since old navy has 50% off jeans I went in to see if I am ready to squeeze into a size 16. Nope. Walked out with 2 pairs of 14!!!!!
I actually cried in the dressing room45
