When I first read this post I had to google NSV ... then I waited ... and waited ... to have one!!
FINALLY the day has arrived!!
Well, colleagues at work have been making comments - but I can't actually see much physical difference, so I haven't really felt those as NSV's ... yet. But today, I put on a shirt and it was just quite huge and floaty ... I looked like a clown! I was kind of shocked! I was poking around at where used to be flesh and is now just air! lol. So I have decided to start to box up those larger baggy clothes now and - well bit to nervous to dump them yet -- but in a few months I can get those out of the house. And that box begins TODAY! <-- that is my NSV! *woot woot*40 -
I have had the same experience lately with the floaty shirts. The other day my shirt was exposing far more bosom than appropriate and I had to put it in the donate pile. I keep saying to my husband this shirt got longer or this shirt grew! He corrects me with a smile!19

I ran a 5K race yesterday. I just realized that I didn’t have a single thought about looking fat in my running tights, or feeling conspicuously huge in any way. I did my warm-up without thinking anyone would wonder why such an obviously unfit person was taking the race somewhat seriously. I felt like I fit in and was just another runner. I ran my first race in 1995, and this is the first time I felt like I belonged there.48

Yes I had a couple of similar moments, like when I started being able to get back into some of my clothes from, say, 2009–2012, my husband didn't remember those outfits anymore and thought I'd gone out and bought a bunch of new clothes. I said "No, just they were too small, er, I was too big," and was received with a very entertained reaction

My jaw line is actually pretty defined now. I always just thought it was a genetic family thing and that I wouldn’t have much of a defined jaw line and chin no matter what, but there it is in the too-many selfies I have been taking the past few days.
Also this is really a scale victory, but I am now at a healthy weight! Not at goal but feeling happy.24 -
Yesterday went shopping for a men’s jacket, thought will need XL size, my friend suggested try L size and it fit perfectly. 4 months ago had bought a 3XL jacket. It was overwhelming but was excited and happy. Cannot wait to fit into a M size in next 4 months.32

Managed to get out for a bike ride today - the weather recently has been pretty bad (snow, ice, wind, rain, blah, blah, blah) but today was dry. Out I go to the garage. By the time I've got the bike out and put my gloves, helmet etc. on, it's started to rain. AGAIN.
But it's only spotting so I decide to go and see how far I get.
By the time I've cycled a couple of miles, it's raining a lot harder and I am seriously beginning to doubt the wisdom of my decision. But, I figure that as I'm already wet, I may as well carry on . . .
So on I go. It eventually stops raining, after six miles and I did the remaining 14 miles without a drop of rain in sight.
Got home, put the bike away and the skies opened up.
But at least I by the time I got home I'd dried out. Nothing worse than getting home soaking wet24 -
Recent NSV after 50+ pounds down: Able to have my hair cut short and finally have it look great on me because my face has thinned down so much. I always thought I had a round face but now see that it’s more of an oval shape with a nearly pointed chin. Who knew?!29

I can tie my shoes without having to move my belly and boobs to just the right position to reach them. A couple pairs of jeans that I've got, that were wearable, but tight, are now comfortably snug.24

I've wanted to kayak for so long, but was terrified I wouldn't fit into one. My husband got me a gift certificate for a kayak lesson for two in December, and we just used it. After 80+ pounds down I had no trouble at all fitting into that thing and also had the stamina to paddle for three hours. As it turns out, I'm not sure I'm in love with kayaking but it was a life experience I'd always wanted to have and it's now been checked off the bucket list.44

We could have each fit the whole portion into our calorie goals, but it was more than we wanted. So we split one!
@__TMac__ - Congrats on splitting those nachos! Portions in restaurants are pretty crazy, aren't they? We go to an ale house place once in awhile and always split the meal. I love fried shrimp, but their serving has nearly 50 fried shrimp (I seriously counted them) and a whole plate full of fries. It's enough for - what? - four people? Insane.10 -
Mine is... I went to give mother in law her Mother’s Day gifts as hubby away, haven’t seen her and my sister in law for a few weeks and they both couldn’t believe how much weight I had lost! It’s only 7lbs and I have 1st 10lbs left to go but I felt great!16

I was inspired by @Madwife2009 to drop the excuses and get out to ride.
I ride a trike, and I'm a bit more on the utilitarian side most of the time, but hey, it's biking (triking in my case), and I got out there. 28 degrees Fahrenheit (think that's -2 C or so), overcast, and WINDY. Gusts were around 25 MPH. I need better protective gear if I'm going to make any sort of habit of doing this. Add to that the snow/ice chunks, rock/brick hazards, sand/gravel, overreaching trees/bushes, horrid sidewalks, streets that weren't much better... Wow, I can't wait to visit a city with a good bike trail! And, truthfully, I can't wait for SPRING!
Got to the two different grocery stores I shop at and back home though, so that's 4.65 miles on the books, as well as the first ride of 2018!
Add-on NSVs:
1) Had to make a HUGE adjustment to my helmet strap. I could fit my hand in under my chin, vertically! I think I may be due a helmet a size smaller by the end of this journey! (A bit more than 60% of the way there.)
2) It was WAY easier to zip around, and had a bit of fun doing drift adjustments on the trike. I would have been terrified of attempting this where I was at the beginning of this journey!
3) I'll have to buy a new ...erm... seat cover? Not sure what it's called. The seat is an open frame with (what was) taut mesh fabric, and the love I gave it at my heavier weights has stretched the mesh far too much. My (now skinnier) behind sinks down and hits the frame!23 -
I had to get some new swim trunks as I only have the pair I wore before I started my journey. My wife told me to try Old Navy. I laughed to myself because the last time I was in there getting close for the kids I remember thinking that I would never be able to shop here myself. Found a pair of trunks size that fit size 34 (started out at a 46). Saw some shirts that I liked and came to the full realization that I can shop for all clothes there if I wanted. I had a little bit of an emotional rush!38

Just bought my second one-piece swimsuit ever. In the past 15 years I've only purchased 1 one-piece swimsuit. I have such horribly experiences with one-piece swimsuits since I'm pear shaped (bottom heavy). It's hard to find a good fit for my bottom and top. Every time I tried a one-piece swimsuit I had to go up to a size 12-14 (XL) to get something that fits comfortably on my bottom but then it was huge on my bust area. So I always avoid them. Well this weekend I bought my first medium size, one-piece swimsuit from Old Navy and it fits!!!! I was jumping around like a kid in a candy store. No uncomfortable tight fiting in the bottom. The top of the swimsuit is a little big but still looks really good. I'm looking forward to wearing it this summer!25

Went to a mate's barn dancing party at the weekend....
NSV 1 - i have cowboy outfit that comprised of a Medium shirt, 34" jeans and new boots - looked pretty swanky if I do say so myself!
NSV 2 - all of my mates' family commented, saying I looked good and asking where I had gone hehe felt nice
NSV 3 - mate said I was 'well skinny now' - am not, but can see I am sooooo much thinner, brain progress!
NSV 4 - I danced pretty much every dance and only had sore feet at the end of the night, so after 4 hours of walking round, dancing round etc
NSV 5 - I really enjoyed the dances - normally I hate dancing, but getting told the moves etc really helps
NSV 6 - mate loved her bday present - it is the first crafty thing I have done in a while and am really proud of it! Nerftastic

This doesn't sound like an NSV but it is to me in not getting downhearted. It was my birthday on Friday and I tried on a dress that I've not been able to wear for months. It was snug, I could have worn it but decided it just showed how much further I have to go rather than how far I have come (14lb since January) In the end wore something more flattering, was comfortable all evening and allowing for a little birthday excess at the weekend, am back on it now. Looking forward to wearing that dress soon though!31

I had a party on Saturday which included pizza and way too much vodka, but I was back on track the very next day and best of all the pizza didn't send me into a junk food spiral!24

I really slacked off last year and managed to gain about 15 lbs. I've finally gotten back on track and today I was able to wear one of my favorite skirts that was way too tight a few months ago!14

Friend just turned up at my business with McDonalds for her lunch and a chat while I worked. I didn’t stab her.
Does that count? I also didn’t want the McDonalds either!33 -
Not sure how many would see this as a NSV but when I've been hit by the "ugh I have so much more to lose!!" feeling, I've been able to think about how much better I feel already and how amazing I'll feel when I keep going instead of getting discouraged. I have a lot of weight left to lose and have been here in the past but have ended up giving up. The ability to not get discouraged at this point is a huge step in the right direction for me so I'm celebrating it!23

I managed to perform 10 proper pull ups, 10 proper dips and 38 beep test pushups on my last fitness test17

Today my doctor complimented me on my weight loss and told me I'm doing a great job. I was feeling down about being up .2 oz since the weekend, but she hasn't seen me in a year so reminded me that there's a bigger picture here!21

Great time on your 5k! Congratulations! I have my first one in 3 weeks. I have not run since my military days 30+ years ago. I was cheering when I ran 5 minutes a couple of months ago.

I keep getting the whole "You are going to go to far and look like you are on drugs" speech, or the whole "what are you taking" speech from my friends, family and acquaintances. Some positive and some negative. Most of the negative is from those who don't choose to work hard as I have and feel bad with themselves. I understand. I try to be nice. I have lost around 75 pounds in 200 days. Good or bad that is what I have done. I do the work though. I stick close to my eating plan and I hit the gym hard. I have had no surgery or taken not even one weight loss drug. I have dropped 10 points on the BMI scale (not the NSV)
The NSV is that (1) I have made it 200 days of tracking. I thought I would have fell off by now as I am a little compulsive. When I decided to decrease my rate of loss and increased my caloric intake I assumed that would be my trigger to fall off completely. I am a all or nothing person so staying on is (NSV 2) a big accomplishment.
I have a few more points to go to get off the OBESE end of the scale but this is an achievable goal. I am doing this. You can do it. Lives do change for the better sometimes.29 -
Three expensive skirt suits back in my closet for me to wear to the office. And comfortably.18
