1) went from not being able to do the elliptical for 2 minutes, to doing it 40 minutes yesterday (span of a month)
2) bought size 12 jeans a month ago and now they won't stay up.
3) Didn't miss a single day of exercising at least 30 minutes at the gym last month
I "only" lost 7 pounds last month but I can tell with my workouts that my body is changing shape. I look the best at ~190 i've ever looked.36 -
Over Christmas my Aunt bought me an expensive winter jacket since I didn't have one. It didn't fit at all and I was too embarassed to tell her so I gave it to my boyfriend. I recently was heading north and needed a jacket and bf convinced me to try on the jacket again and it actually fits now! It's still a little snug when I zip it up (especially over my boobs), but I CAN ZIP IT!41

My favorite jacket fits better today than it did when my mother bought it for me 15 years ago.

I just tried on some pants that fit perfectly in 2009 when I was breastfeeding and more active. I couldn't even pull them up 2 months ago - now I can and my next goal is that I can actually zip and button them!28

After losing the plot for a few days, I don't give up so easily anymore, but come back to tracking and exercising again.

1. My mom gave me a bag of Starburst jelly beans a few days ago (my favorite!) and there are still some left! They never lasted this long before haha
2. Got offered a new job yesterday!
Better hours = more time with my family and more time to move!
Better benefits and pay = more money for exercise gear and race entries!36 -
i finally decided after almost 2 years of walking ALOT to try and suck it up and go running on the treadmill (in a gym surrounded by people oh my)
and guess what?!?
I WENT 5.5 MPH FOR 20 MINUTES NON STOP!!! holy hah. Not bad for someone whose never run ever. Not like super speedy sprint or anything ... nice comfortable jog.
Beter yet i could have kept going i wasnt like dieing it felt relatively comfortable i just got hot from wearing a sweater and decided not to push it. Next time ill go beter dressed41 -
My boyfriend noticed my gluteus Maximus is firmer now.23

Someone asked me if I was a professional ballerina today. She said she was a dance teacher for years and I have "the body of a competitive dancer". Such a nice and surprising compliment .45

I've been eating overnight rolled oats in the AM and feeling better doing that, even adding in a few drops of vanilla sweet leaf stevia to pump it up a bit. Added blueberries into mine this morning. It's so good and only about 150-200 calories depending on your toppings. I missed oatmeal!!27

The jeans i bought a few months ago have gotten loose, so wife and I went shopping today. For the first time in decades, I'm able to fit in size 38 jeans.41

I signed my whole family up for a Color Walk/Run! So my kids (12, 11, and 7) now want to be my walking buddies so they can prepare for a 5K!
Also, I tried on an old pair of jeans I bought at least 11 years ago, and they fit!! It took me 50 lbs to do it, but I FINALLY went down a size!!32 -
One pair of my swimmers has adjustable straps (bit like a bra); I actually had to tighten the straps more about an inch and a half shorter - haven't worn these swimmers in about 6 weeks - so they would stay on properly.
Then I jumped in the pool and did a 1.2 km swim - just like that! I still have 80 more pounds to loose so I am really happy with that swim. My goal is to repeat and beat it next weekend.26 -
2 related NSVs:
I got on the treadmill at the gym today to warm up before strength training I set my light/jog pace and realized that when I started running that was my all out sprint pace.
Second, I accidentally got sidetracked by my podcast and ran for 30 minutes instead of 5 and didn’t really feel it at all.
Moments like these make me realize that I have definitely come a long way. Makes me wonder where I can end up!50 -
My head hasn’t been in a great place the last few days but I’m so proud of myself for not having a binge and staying under calories.33

I think one of the newest things that had me a little caught off guard is that I have people walking up to me that I have known most of my life who were finally asking me “so what is your secret“? Also my shoulders are starting to show new definition so I’m pretty thrilled about that.20

I have finally reached the smallest of the clothing I've kept around since high school. New territory ahead!32

I went to visit my folks this weekend. As much as I try, my eating is usually off the charts when I visit them because I am not in control of the food, and frankly, we just hang out and talk and eat and spend time together and eat, and eat and eat, lol. Usually during these weekends, I have not paid attention to or logged my food, and assumed the worst (i.e. that my calories are off the charts), and it would generally have put me in a funk for a week or so afterwards.
This time, I logged everything that I ate - didn't restrict what I ate up front, but I did log after the fact. And you know what? It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. My mother is a registered dietician, and I always tend to forget that she is calorie conscious, too - so she makes good choices. After all was said and done this weekend, I was 600 total calories over my net goal, which put me AT goal for the entire week (I saved a few calories along the way!).
So no funk this time - I just went back on my schedule this morning, and I am enjoying the memories of the time I had with my family guilt free!46 -
I brought cereal to work this morning for breakfast. I had a container of milk left over from last week. It was only a couple of days past the "sell-by" date, so I poured it on my cereal and took a bite. YUCK! The milk was no good. I had no choice by to throw out the cereal--why didn't I at least sniff the container before pouring?????? My NSV for this is that I immediately pulled out my emergency protein meal bar from my desk drawer instead of heading for the donuts and bagels in the staff lounge!31

Awesome!
You've earned the Sahara badge
You've walked 2,983 miles! That's more than the length of the Sahara Desert, which stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea. Congratulations on making it over this huge hump and securing the Sahara badge.

Last night I went to the movies. I had calorie budgeted for a junior popcorn. I ate the popcorn. It was delicious.
There's a Wendy's by the theater that I used to stop at after EVERY movie. I could have stopped last night, I still had some calories left. Instead, I checked in with my body and realized I wasn't actually hungry. I drove home, brushed my teeth, and went to bed satisfied.
I also reminded myself that if I had stopped, that would have been okay too.36 -
I bought some tops in size medium and they fit!
I genuinely thought I might never see the day since having children. I started in August as an XL (but let's be real, XXL).24 -
Well I’ve had a blast reading all (!) of these, a great way to keep me on track for the last few weeks and start my day off right. I’m a returner as of January 2018, currently down 17kg of a target 65kg loss. I’ve had some good victories lately:
- I had to buy a belt for my work trousers. I remember buying them in November being grateful that they fit, now I need a belt.
- Said belt was purchased at a regular store. Yes it is size L, and it might be running big, but I literally never find belts that fit. I’m in the first hole, and I look forward to conquering several more!
- I started taking the stairs in my building (I live on the 4th floor) and anytime there are stairs next to the escalators on the subway station and such.
- I restarted my yoga practice and aiming for a consistent 2 times per week for now. Last week I did 420 -
My husband wanted to go out for a burger tonight. I didn't have the calories for it.
I ate my lentil dish as planned and then when out with him so he could have his burger.
Had a nice evening and didn't go over my calories! Yey!32 -
No longer hate shopping for pants... at my heaviest I was a size 17-18 (34-36 waist). On st. Patty’s day I wore a size 0 (25 inch waist). This time last year I was between a size 4-6 and only about 10 lbs heavier. It’s amazing the changes your body can make without much change on the scale!16

Jogged through a whole song without stopping. (about 3 minutes) Two months ago I could only job for up to a minute.36
-
- My waist is 28.5". It's not been under 29" since I was 17. And I'm 36 now!
- Also did 10 x 3 sets of push ups today. Only ever been able to do 3 at a time before. My pathetic bench pressing this year has counted for something!17 -
NSV 1 - I had my belly pierced after losing 102lbs as nearing maintenance.
As part of belly ring care I noticed a pulse in my abdomen that I have not been aware of before. I’m a nurse (and a hypochondriac!) and I’m aware that it could by an abdominal aneurysm so I asked one of my medical consultant colleagues if it was normal. To which she replied:
NSV 2 - perfectly normal if you’re slim! Me slim? I’ve been overweight since I was 8, I’ve just turned 40
NSV 3 - I’ve always had long brown hair which I have hid behind. I’ve since had a pixie cut with majenta and blonde highlights, no more hiding!
NSV 4- I also overheard someone describing me as the tall lady with short hair, not overweight/chubby girl who smiles a lot
NSV 5 - I’m having an identity crisis and I’m loving it lol!56
