This week I met my last health goal - my waist-hip ratio is now under .8 at .78! My waist measurement is now under 30” as well. As an apple shaped woman who always seems to lose from my nonexistent hips, this is huge for me!23

I stopped paying attention to how many days I have been logging my meals when I reached my 1 year CICOversary. I just noticed today I have logged my meals for the past 501 days. Look at all that dedication . It’s amazing what the mind is capable of when you insist on achieving your goal and failure is not an option. You know, MFP should really reward us for all this hard work ( granted the website is free and there is the occasional UA discount we receive). But a congratulatory e-card won’t hurt

100 day streak on MFP! I've lost 30 pounds so far and have 30 more to go, at least, so this isn't that impressive -- but one of my goals this year is to have a 364 day streak on MFP.24

After 6 months of upper Midwest US climate discouraging any outdoor bike riding I've been pretty steadily logging ~75miles a week on the stationary bike at the gym (60minute "cross country" program 3-5days a week) while watching Netflix transferred content. Spring has finally sprung here and family life supported me getting out for a bike ride on my 'mountain bike' (now a ~20yr old bike that is old and heavy by current market offerings) yesterday evening.
Aired up the flat tires on the bike and instead of driving my truck to the gym I drove about 2miles to local bike trail access parking lot and biked the miles to the gym in less than 20minutes so I rode past the gym another 5minutes and looped back. Did a quick high intensity, little rest between sets workout on biceps, forearms and some planks at the gym. Jumped back on the bike and was back to the lot with my truck in less than 20minutes so I pushed on past another 10minutes before looping back. Pulled some significant mileage at an elevated heart rate (mouth breathing) but I felt great! I never really stopped a high RPM pedal rate (kept it in the mid range gears) and felt like I could have easily kept going even further but it was getting dark.
I also loved the feeling that each rotation on the pedal crank truly "pulled" the bike, which I attribute to a combination of stronger leg muscles and 30+lb weight loss in the last 6months from all the stationary bike riding over the long cold winter.
So my NSV is the emotional high of getting back on to a real bike, feeling/experiencing the fruits of my 6+ months labor on the stationary bike at the gym. I personally committed to myself to more frequently use this "cross training" of real bike riding to the gym and feeling the sun/wind on my face and hopefully leaving the stationary bike only for those days where the weather makes actual bike riding too undesirable.24 -
I'm finally free of all prescription medications. Great checkup this week.48

Man, I literally just stopped doing Keto because my performance in the gym took a dramatic nose dive. And, that was with "carb timing". How on Earth do you do it?0 -
I felt like crap and lonely. So what do I do? I debate with myself, know I'm already over my calories but I just want ittt...
So I open the packet, put it in the microwave and BAM! I DIDNT EAT IT.
I know it's small but I've only been back on track for about two weeks and I'm just so happy I stopped myself from an emotional binge.41 -
New NSV today I was in the garage doing jumping jacks between sets and my 8 yr old daughter tells my son, "Look, you can see her muscles!" She's very proud- and she's a dancer so it's important for us to model healthy eating and exercise habits for her.
Another one: When I do my lunges, I sometimes put my hands on my waist and I'm noticing that I like the way my waist/stomach feels now. Slimmer and stronger.21 -
im terrified of having my pic taken...i dont mind body pics i got used to them as i lost weight and took a bunch for progress.....but today i won a glamour photo shoot i entered but didnt expect to win just wanted to get the link to my friends who might like it. We promoted our fifth graders today. After the ceremony we (teachers included) change into our promotion t-shirts. I asked for an xl and had to exchange it for a large. Started in a 2xl. So exciting!31

I love this!
At jobs I always dreaded the times we would get special event or logo t-shirts or sweatshirts. I always needed men's 2X or 3X and it fit so badly, huge long arms & hit me at such an odd spot at the hips. At my current job we don't really do any of that, but in my office we ordered jackets at Christmas time and it was amazing to get the ladies fit Large...it reminded me of how far I have come.

I've been doing yoga enough that my 8 month old son started modeling it today28

I've been sewing/taking-in my scrub tops as I've been loosing weight. Today, I was running late and grabbed one of those tailored tops and put it on...OMG, it's huge on me now. So, with no time to iron another top, I'm sitting here at work trying to cover up my oversized top. Yup, planning on retiring this when I get home.21

I went for my first run in a week and a half today, and it went great! I deliberately took time off from running and filled it with other activities (walking, mtn biking, etc.) because running was starting to feel way more difficult than it had. Rather than push myself and end up with an injury, I listened to my body and took a short break.
I think the most amazing thing about this process is how blatantly obvious it now is when my body isn't functioning as it should. 60lbs ago, I think I was just in constant discomfort to the point where I blocked it out. While I am in this to lose weight and look better (~60lbs to go!), my main goal has always been my health, and I think I'm to the point where I'm happy with it... now to just get a butt worthy of an instagram belfie15 -
Tucked the small towel around my body with no gaps!20

Last night while taking several selfies with out-of-town relatives at dinner, I sat in chair pose beside their seat in the restaurant without even thinking. I didn't even realize it until later. A small thing, to be sure, but a marker of being fit.18

I can't believe I'm even typing these words, but--I joined a gym! I HATE gyms.......and exercise in general! My 15-year-old granddaughter has just come to live with us (long story and sad family dynamics we have no control over). She's a dancer and wanted to join a gym to stay in shape. I definitely want to encourage her to be as healthy as possible, so, of course--Nana signed up with her! I think she's going to keep me motivated--she already wants to go tonight. What have I gotten myself into?????????????50

I am back into 3 out of 6 pairs of my UK size 10 crops, which is definite progress from 2 weeks ago. Currently wearing the pair seen in the profile pic. Now for the next 3 pairs.15

Realizing my "work shirts" are looking baggy decided to step into 'formal' clothing store and get measured for new button down long sleeve shirts. Neck measurements down one full size and when I explained that I'm trying not to have shirts that look so "baggy" the sale consultant says "well, that's probably because you need a slim fit" and the other sales consultant who was folding shirts a few tables away says "of course he does, if I can comfortably wear slim cut then he definitely can"
NSV = Being referred to as "slim" in any context for the first time in a long time (and 'yes', my new shirts do fit much better)32 -
In much the same vein as the above post - I discovered I'm overweight and my clothes don't fit...
I needed to dress nicer than usual for an awards ceremony this morning - I had to DIG in my closet to find clothes that came close to being small enough. My wife said, "We need to take you shopping."24 -
Fancy Gourmet Cupcakes in the Kitchenette at work for several days now and have been able to walk by them numerous times without even considering eating one.21

This week I was accused of secretly having gastric bypass surgery. While I found the comment itself very rude, the fact that people see that much of a difference in how I look is pretty flattering, so I call that a win! It's hard to see the changes in myself, and I think most of us on here feel the same way. I see a small difference while the outside world is seeing something very different!29
