We had to fit for new lab coats at work yesterday and I was extremely nervous when it was my turn. I struggled for years to find one that fit right and it was unfortunately always an embarrassing size. Imagine my surprise when the man said: "All right, a small for you. Next." I was close to tears and couldn't believe I was so petrified of not finding one that would fit me (happened in the past). Definitely a win.34

Today I did my first proper plank. Until now I have only been able to do one on my knees29

Oh I am, and you can do it (depending on genetics)! Takes time, a lot of effort, then the shock of realizing that you can wear bralettes instead of bulky bras sets in! I went on a bit of a shopping spree because I can now wear the cute bras instead of my old industrial strength with 5 hooks in the back and straps made by Craftsman ugly bras. Oh yeah, they get cheaper as well... 4/$20 at Forever 21.19 -
I can do a bent arm hang for a respectable length of time now.
This is huge for me as one of my worst memories was being forced to do bent arm hang for the President's Fitness tests in the 70s in grade school. When I was 10 years old I basically had my adult body - 5'8" 120 lbs with a c cup - and all the other girls in 5th grade were still tiny prepubescent children with a child's strength to weight ratio who could still swing on monkey bars - and they made us do bent arm hang on the parallel bars, which the other kids had to be lifted up to, but they were so close to the ground for me that I had to tuck my knees to my chest in order to keep them off the floor. The coach got a bonus based on how many kids passed, so he would yell at me that I wasn't trying hard enough.
I'm still a long way from my first pull up but I least I could pass that damn fitness test now.31 -
I picked my daughter up from a party and the Moms who put on the party offered me the left over pizza and cake. I would have loved to stuff my face - really good quality stuff. My mouth was watering literally as I looked at it. I asked for a small piece of cake, ate less than a tenth of it and took the rest home for my son. Then I ate 3/4 an apple and the the flesh from the seeds from the mangoes I cut up for my daughter at home! Slightly over budget for the day - but went for another walk to help cancel that out!22

I did a 30 second plank without resting yesterday28

I finally got the pixie cut I’ve been dreaming of but always thought I was too fat for. It’s been my big goal weight reward for a year!28

Lol. I call my bras industrial bras as well. Over the shoulder boulder holders! Yes, they are pricey and only come in three colors: black, white, and taupe. Not sure if genetics is on my side though. The women on both sides of my family are heavy chested no matter the age and size of the person. You must feel like a million bucks.8 -

Yep. I feel like I have to don plated armor every morning. I'm hoping against hope they'll go down... but if not, I'll seek out the surgical option when I've finally hit my goal.5 -
I got really excited last week as I actually manage to buy a smart dress (for a wedding) - in the past my top half has always been at least 2 sizes bigger than the bottom half and I have had to opt for separates. Now can accomodate both top and bottom in a UK 16 - now trying for a UK 14. Will love it when underwires are not essential - here's hoping18

I noticed this week that shirts are getting to be more loose and not so tight. Pants are getting looser in the butt, still not the waist though15

Started over... again...
And my most recent NSV is being able to bend over to cut my toenails or tie my shoes. Always my favorite when it happens!24 -
I was paddling my SUP with a group and someone at the ramp we left from said "Maybe I should get a paddleboard. They're all so skinny." This was true, BTW. It was only a group of 5; there certainly are many large SUP paddlers out there, but people who show up for paddle that is purely for training/exercise tend to be in good shape. I only recently started attending the session and still fall behind, but I am out there (two NSVs in one).22

Did a BodyCombat class. Kept up. Didn't die.32

Today's victory: was able to just hoist myself on to the table (got a facial for my mother's day present) without them having to lower the table. I realize I used to look something like a Walrus getting out of water to get onto massage tables, now I just hoist myself up.17

I do, thanks. Even if you don't get to bralette sizes, just take a look at the options for smaller bands. They are much cuter (and usually A LOT cheaper). I was elated the day I had a choice of an actual bra that wasn't black, white, or nude, let alone the bralettes. Cheaper bras that are nice looking is a great motivator!8 -
Walking across the grocery store parking lot to my car, carrying two 2.5 gallon jugs of distilled water, plus a reusable grocery bag of stuff and my megapurse, then a total stranger stops me and needs to tell me a joke (you've heard this one) about how elderly people should weight train by lifting 2 10-pound potato sacks, then go to 25 pound sacks, finally 100 pound sacks, and when that's going well, start adding potatoes.
So, I'm standing there smiling at him, holding 40 pounds of water and 10-15 pounds of other stuff, while he tells me this joke.
Joke? Not funny. Overall situation? Pretty hilarious, if you ask me.
NSV? 62-year-old woman carrying 50+ pounds of groceries, and able to wait there easily, not only take this calmly, but actually find it one of the funnier things that's happened to me lately.40 -
Actually getting back on track. I started this journey 3 years ago and had a great loss but put some weight back on over the last year. My nsv is that I’m back on track with exercising and eating healthily and I’m already feeling so much better. The fact that numbers are dropping is a bonus.23

Heart rate and blood pressure down significantly.17

Very exciting NSVs this morning. I just noticed my lower stomach pouch is reducing! The best part, today is the start of my TOM and usually I’m bloated but nope! I thought I would have to do some serious weight training to get rid of the pouch but it’s slowly coming off on its on with continuous caloric deficit and patience. One more benefit of the slow weight loss approach. They say abs are made in the kitchen, I get it now. Oh another NSV, my legs are finally looking like normal feminine legs. For years my legs looked like 2 gigantic turkey legs, I’m happy it’s looking smaller.24

grumblefluff wrote: »The awesome red suede boots (with the biggest calf I could find) that I got for my birthday, the ones that wouldn't zip up past my ANKLE and made me cry...I just put them on and zipped them ALL THE WAY UP! They are still a little snug, but they went on! (and seriously, they make me feel like a a superhero) Those boots were my main motivation to start this, because I was so ashamed, and depressed that they were so awesome and so seemingly out of my reach...and they weren't, i just had to get off my butt and work towards them...and it really worked!
Good for you! I know exactly what you mean. My calves wouldn't let me wear the sexy boots, either. It was ankle boots or none at all. I so happy for you! That's an amazing feeling!6 -

It doesn't sound at all silly. I'm getting very close myself to being out of the obese category and, believe me, I'll be thrilled! Congrats on your success.17
