Actually did a cute “Pinterest mom” school craft with my kids (generally not my style, I’m too lazy)—we talked about hibernation and they made a graham cracker “den” glued together with frosting for their teddy graham bears. I did not eat a single bear, graham cracker, even the leftovers!—nor did I lick the knife. This from the lady who volunteers to cut the cake just so I can scoop up the leftover frosting 😆23

I was in a room full of 30-somethings and they all thought I was younger than them! When they found out I’m 42 one said “you don’t smoke or party and you work out all of the time” lol I stupidly smoked for 25 years, drank to excess far too often and only started working out October 2018!
One of the ladies said “you are my inspiration”
My life has changed dramatically in the last 2 years!34 -
Without even thinking about it, I walked across the room, in broad daylight, naked, in front of my boyfriend and did not feel self conscious at all. If anything, I felt that he was a lucky man. (P.S. I'm 51)45

36 mile bike ride today . . . . it was supposed to be 31 miles but I got slightly lost due to a lack of signs on the road and had to do a bit of back tracking.
It was fun though.
I keep thinking though, that I should have just carried on and done another 14 miles to make it a round 50.19 -
I went to buy a new belt on Saturday. While I was out I decided to try on some pants just to see where I'm at now. I started with size 46 when my diet began last April. I grabbed two pairs of 38s that I assumed would fit fine, and a wishful pair of 36's just to see if I could get them buttoned. I tried the 36 first and not only did they fit, they were comfortable. I didn't even take the 38's off the hanger!33

Well, I thought it was a cool number Shame I have to do another 11,111 miles to get to 22,222 miles. At this rate, it will take me 22 years to get to 99,999 miles Hmmm. I'll be seriously old by that point. Will have to ramp up the mileage!
DH thinks that my bike may be a little worse for wear. He couldn't believe that I've gone that distance.
Anyway . . .
My bike ride today took me into a neighbouring county. I didn't realise that it had so many hills . . . up and down, up and down, up and down until I went down one hill and started going up the next one, only to see a warning sign that it had an 8% incline.
I will admit, I saw that sign and silently (or maybe not so silently) cursed my decision to go that way, especially as the wind was at 15mph . . .
Only one way to go.
UP.
So up I went. It was a massive struggle, I was down to my lowest gear, my HR was up the hill way ahead of me and I was bordering on hyperventilation. Every time I looked up, I just saw more road. The end took a long, long time to be in sight. Or so it seemed. Stopping and walking up the hill was NOT an option, even though I suspect that for a lot of the time I was cycling at a slower pace than my walking speed.
But I made it. Then went down the other side and up yet another hill (not so steep though).
Reached my destination, after yet more hills, turned around and started back for home. Then I realised that, just when I thought that things couldn't get any worse, they did. Because I was heading back directly in to a 15mph head wind. Great. But at least the hills on the return journey were slightly kinder as they were up a longer slope. Still had to use bottom gear a few times due to the headwind. And going down that 8% incline was fun. Briefly.
Got home completely exhausted. I think that's the first time I've been that tired after a bike ride and I've been on some twice as long (this was a mere 26 miles).
Maybe I've become complacent with doing the same routes over and over again. Time to explore further, me thinks, and take in some more varied terrain.
I am considering doing the ride again, but on a slightly less windy day.
Way to "earn your turns." Those brutal rides make you stronger. I have a few hills that I still dread and fear...5 -
I ordered a pair of jeans from Amazon in a size 7 and THEY FIT!!!! *gettin jiggy wit it*22

bought some cheap jeans from Matalan just for housework, decorating etc.
Matalan are a bit notorious for vanity sizing, so I picked up the UK8 instead of the UK10 I would choose at a more expensive shop.
I know it's not a genuine 8, but I enjoy the size on the label18 -
Willpower NSV again—I know I need to be consistent in my mobility program to keep my hips happy, but it’s not my favorite thing to do. So this morning I didn’t have time to do a full session, so I did an “active recovery” short one. Better than skipping it.
Then I get to the gym and all the rooms are in use for the two hour window I have available. Okay, I’ll go out to the outdoor strip of sidewalk and do a session out there. On the concrete. In 36 degree weather. Goal accomplished, hands only minorly angry (probably bc they were so cold I couldn’t feel the roughness 😆). And noted, need to align my schedule with room availability.14 -

NSV: I cross-country skied 23 miles, farther than I ever skied before.18

Joined a gym and have actually been going! The last time I had a gym membership was over 10 years ago, and I went once in the course of a year probably. I'm shocked, frankly.
Yesterday I jogged for 20 continuous minutes on the treadmill (but not fast). Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to recall that 20 minutes was some kind of benchmark for c25k. Those of you who are doing it, have I achieved something?
All my life running has been a real weak point in my fitness level. I could walk 5 hours but not run 5 minutes. Honestly I don't know what changed because I've mostly just done walking as my exercise to lose the weight. While I do know that jogging on a treadmill and jogging on the street are two different things in terms of exertion level, I could not be more surprised and thrilled to realise this accomplishment.22 -
Here’s my latest, more cinch required than the last one I shared.

My most recent: All my shoes are too big AND the first person outside my family noticed my weight loss. A nurse at my doctors office (who hasn't seen me in 6 months) said "You've lost a lot of weight haven't you? Well done!"25

I haven’t worked out or logged for nearly a week and I’m feeling great about it because my baby girl was born early Thursday morning and she’s perfect and taking care of her is way more fun and important than logging meals and getting in a workout for the time being.59

I can wear certain underwear that were once way too tight.17

My measurement between December 22nd 2018 and Feb. 15th 2019. 10 pounds and 4 inches. Not much, but enough to keep me motivated for a while.16

I have three daughters who are Girl Scouts and are selling cookies.
I am a school teacher (high school) and have BOXES and BOXES of cookies at school I'm selling for my daughters (and they are flying off the shelves).
My NSV? I've not eaten a single Girl Scout cookie this round.46 -
@ecmorgan101, my kind of guy, disciplined spelled DISCIPLINED! Keep up the good work and collect your NSVs along the way.9

Today was my second day this week back at swimming after about 8 months23

I put on 3lb due to TOM/Salt intake/full moon/day ending in 'y', who knows.
I'm absolutely typical pear shape. All my weight is on my legs and they're lumpy bumpy at their fattest. My NSV for today is that, despite putting on those 3lb over the past couple of days, I can see the lumpy bumpy parts of my legs disappear! It's this NSV that makes the number on the scale not matter so much.
I'm also spectacularly pleased for my husband who is a mfp newbie. After about 6 weeks he's lost over a stone (he has a lot to lose and that includes the "water weight" initial loss - he's evened out to about 2lb a week) and he's got to buy new trousers and make new holes in his belt already! His happy little face this morning was so adorable35 -

Thanks . I don’t actually do any group fitness classes but I’ll use one of the rooms when they’re empty for my mobility work. 10-30 minutes of doing frog hops, bear crawls, and monkey moves is so much more pleasant in a big empty room than in my cramped little bedroom, trying to maneuver around furniture!11 -

Yesterday I managed to keep my pace at or above 8km/h for all the jogs of week 3 day 2 of c25k. I've been working at this for a few weeks so it's good to know I can finally do it.
This morning was week 4 day 2 again. No work on pace this morning. I looked down at one stage and was going only 6.5km/h so I did up my speed a bit then, but this morning the achievement was just keeping going. My other half had a bad night sleep last night and all of his tossing and turning kept me awake. I could have easily stayed in bed this morning, especially knowing I have bootcamp this afternoon, but I got myself up and off I went knowing that an extra hour of sleep wasn't going to make me feel any better anyway, but the walk & jog would wake me up, which it did 😁
On Tuesday my boss and the other lady I work with both commented that they could really see that I'm losing weight now. They both mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, but they said you can really tell now. They both know I've been trying to lose weight so it's good to know that others can see it now too.
Then yesterday, a patient and friend from a property out of town who doesn't come in very often asked me what I'd been doing. In my true ditzy self, not getting what he was talking about replied with "mowing", he laughed and said "You've been doing a lot more than mowing by the looks of it, you're losing weight" 😂12 -
This is day 400 for me here

Managed to reach my first nsv of fitting comfortably into all my work clothes post mat leave. Now my next goal is to NOT fit into them, and accidentally save enough money each month by bringing lunch that I can buy a whole new work wardrobe in six months time.28
