Today is Let’s Laugh Day. As I waked in a few minutes late to a meeting, one of my colleagues said “Apparently Elaine laughs a lot!” I gave her a puzzled look and she said that someone had just mentioned that laughing burns calories! It was a very creative way to say I’ve lost weight! 😂12

I love this thread too! I appreciate being able to celebrate little and big wins with others on the same journey. But it is just as important for me to read about other people’s successes. It really helps me stay positive and inspired. Keep those posts coming, everyone!9

Speaking as a parent, with grown children, any day you get to see your children is a special day. I haven't seen mine since Christmas.
My parents and I are in a constant battle to not inconvenience each other, lol. It's how we show that we care. I did not want to inconvenience them by making them drive me back home after dinner.
Oh, also I saw them anyways because they came over to help me put on my spare tire, lol.

I have been going to an exercise class 3x a week since September called Clubbersize (if you haven't heard of it, it's basically dancing in the dark to dance tunes with glow sticks - it's amazing!) and one of the songs we learnt in November-time has 72 star jumps in, in 2 rounds, with this weird jumping thing in the middle of them. When I first started, I managed about 8 star jumps per round. Now, I'm managing all 72 and the advanced moves on all other dances! Made even better with the fact that I walk home after said class up a MASSIVE hill which I managed to RUN up AFTER raving for an hour!
It may not seem a lot to some but it is so nice to feel such significant progression in my fitness💃😊30 -
Fit into the smallest dress I've ever bought. Size 8, bought it the last time I lost weight for a work photo. Thought I was going to have to lose another ten to fit. It's definitely fitted, but I wouldn't say it's tight. Gonna wear it tomorrow to work.
In celebration, here is the first actual photo of me I'm posting on this account, a picture of me wearing the dress.
Edit: bonus cat included.
Edit edit: forgot to mention that this dress is so special because it's the only piece of "skinny" clothing that I kept. I couldn't bear to get rid of it, both because it was so pretty but also because it may have been the last remnant of hope that I could lose the weight again.

Finally broke a 10 minute mile!30 -
I just touched my toes for the first time in at least a decade. Without pulling any muscles. Feet shoulder-width apart, knees flexed slightly.
I've seen people palm the floor with their feet apart and their knees locked, but 1.) I can't do that, and 2.) I'm not sure it's a healthy exercise anyway.19 -
I wish I never did fall off the wagon when I started in 2015. But I am here again now. Had a mini goal to lose 5lbs in March. Lost 6.8lbs so far and March isn't even over.19

80 days since I started my "Bike to Oregon" virtual ride challenge. 551 miles down. 2,423 miles to go.
Not a bad start to the year. Averaging 6.88 miles per day. That's my NSV.25 -

My Grandmother could stand with her feet together, knees locked and put both of her palms flat on the floor when she was 90. She was over weight to boot. I doubt I will ever be able to do that.7 -

I can do this with barely a stretch, I think it has to do with arm/leg length, some people can do it easily and some can't no matter how much they stretch.8 -
Completed c25k this morning!!! Well the final workout anyway. I'm far from done with it! 30 minutes of jogging. Never in my life have I jogged that long! And truth be told it wasn't even that hard. Proof that my fitness is improving 😁 I was hoping to jog 4km in that 30 minutes. I wasn't actively trying to though, I just wanted to see what my starting point for a 30 minute jog would be. When I looked at Map my walk with 3 minutes to go and realised if I just pushed myself a little harder I would make it, I stepped up the pace a bit and got to 4.07km by the end. So freaking happy and proud right now 😁😁😁33

Got up at 545 this morning and went for a three mile run! I love to run but I am NOT a morning person and have always made excuses about why I couldn't run in the morning, but last night I decided enough was enough, laid out my clothes and charged my gadgets, and was out the door on time and at work on time!!! Now I know I can do it so I can't make any more excuses!16

Yesterday I touched my toes for the first time in well over a decade. Feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly flexed.
I've seen people palm the floor, feet touching and knees locked, but I'm not sure that's healthy.7 -
My husband’s arm fits around my waist in a totally new way.
For my birthday I got new sneakers and a GC for an eight week group training class. And that made me super happy.
I keep having to buy new clothes, I’m keeping my wardrobe small as I know I will shrink out for summer. From a 22/xxl to a 12-14 and a teenage medium on top!
I now KNOW, not just hope and wish, that I will reach my goal weight and fitness level. It’s an entirely different mental place to be.17 -

Nah, I have short arms and I could do it as a teen. I am working on it and can almost get there. I'll be able to do it in a month or so. Right now I feel the pull in my hamstrings.4 -
I've always been able to touch the floor, even when I was 280 pounds. I can put my palm flat on the ground now at 179. I think it has to with the ratio of arm to leg length not just length.4

I decided to splurge for my birthday last night. I went out, had pizza, a salad, and a margarita. I only went 40 calories over my calories, and that was my daily vitamins (50 calories of gummy vitamins). This is a victory because 1) I fit a "big splurge" in my calories no problem, and 2) I feel like I've learned to pace my food better, that I could stop at 1.5 slices easily (ate the other half of my child's) and not feel deprived, like I'm finally getting to a place where my brain recognizes an appropriate amount of food.26
