Last Sat. a.m. I walked in the Run for the Hill of It 5K (second 5K race this month). It was cold (I wore my fleece lined pants, wool socks, gloves & winter headband), very windy, and muddy. And totally fun! At one point, a deer crossed the trail in front of us, got caught in branches trying to cross the creek, and managed to free itself and scramble up the bank. Going UP the steep sledding hill section at the finish (altered somewhat due to muddy conditions), I managed to get up the hill in 1:58 (goal < 2 min.). Total time of 48:06.
My Fitbit said I was on an elliptical, and my heart rate was at Peak for 73% of the race. Not bad for a trail event with hilly sections, tree roots, rocks and mud... had to slow in some spots to navigate; my shoes and pants knee-downward were mud-spattered but I stayed dry.
Afterwards, one of the runners (cute male maybe half my age of 62) saw me take a big cookie and said "that kind of defeats the purpose." I laughed and said I do this so I CAN eat the big cookie! Life is too short to not eat big cookies.29 -
I am starting to see a small difference in the appearance of my face. Up until now, my weight loss hasn’t felt “real” to me because I still pretty much look the same as 25 pounds ago. So, finally seeing some visual confirmation of my progress is nice.25

haven't wore this weight lifting belt since 2003. When I started WLJ last April, I couldn't even get the belt through the buckle at all.

@brenn24179 I find the same thing. I am on point with my food and every once in a while I have an 'eat bad' item day and it results in kick starting something back up. It was my birthday weekend this past weekend as well as Canadian Thanksgiving. I indulged in foods I hadn't since my journey restarted and I lost 2.6lbs! I am now down 32.6lbs since July 22, 2019!15

I have been able to maintain my proper eating habits through quite a stressful time. I have a need to comfort myself but fortunately have been able to find it through healthier means.37

1) my ring is now slipping off my finger
2) my legs (especially my left one) are becoming very defined

I lost weight during Thanksgiving, I haven’t updated my weight on here because I can’t believe it. Maybe both my scales are broken? I will update it next Monday just in case I was dreaming. 🤷♀️ Also, my muscles hurt from strength training and my clothes are fitting better woohoo 🥳20

Nothing fits me right anymore. I can get back into pants I haven't worn in a year. Shirts are actually oversized. My tight jeans are loose in the thigh.22

Just completed my first 10k since last century34

A lot easier to get my tights on this fall22

I can finally do chin ups27

Last time I wore these pants was at my Dad's funeral Aug 2018, 75 lbs heavier, and they fit SNUG. I didn't wear the shirt pictured, it was way too small, but now it also is too big.

Last year, 78 pounds ago, when I would do a shoulder stand, all the blubber would slide down from my waist and chest and pool around my neck, nearly choking me. Gravity was not kind.
Yesterday I did something new for me, a declined (?) bench press. I was so interested that nothing slid backdownwards I forgot I was pressing!

I've been only doing this 2.5months and lost 28lb and these are my NSV's so far:
My new pencil skirt I bought 2 months ago for my new job is loose and slipping down. It was expensive and doesn't have belt loops. I may have to sew on some elastic on the inside so I don't have to buy another.
I can now see below my stomach again. No more sweat rashes next summer whenever my stomach rubs in a B shape. Still got a stomach of course but it is finally visibly shrinking.
I can sit for long periods now. I would go for bus and tube journeys and have serious butt pains after only a few minutes and then trouble getting up - and the pain! Now I hop up and there is no soreness from sitting.
I was at work on Monday and had to put lots of items on the bottom shelf (near the floor) and I easily got down on my knees for each handful and back up to repeat and didn't have any trouble with any of the movements or become out of breath. I really noticed this because before I would have trouble getting up and down.27 -

Somewhat related, based on your story and also that picture I'd say you not only did a great job losing fat but that you got pretty lucky in the loose skin department too. Bonus!5 -

My NSV makes me very happy. I have had a particular pair of jeans that look soooooo good on me but they were always too tight around the stomach, so the upper part of the belly fat would just pour out of it, and I had to suck in everything I had to get into them.
I've kept them with me for AGES, and yesterday I tried them on again. Imagine my utter surprise when I realized that not only do I have to hold my breath to get into them, but that they're actually so comfortable to wear, and so loose that I need to wear them with a belt!

Realised I was going to be late setting off for the train. Instead of reaching for the car keys I just worked out how much jogging was needed to make up the time and made it.29

I've got 2! I've been really discouraged with the scale after a week of vacation and a week of being sick so I'm trying to focus on the progress I'm making. I took measurements and I'm down an inch and a half in both my waist and hips. Also, my husband took a picture of me swinging my kids outside and, for the first time in a long time, I didn't feel like I looked chunky!29

Bright a size 14 dress and it fits!32

Everything I’m doing is becoming consistent. I turned up for a training session (leg day) despite not sleeping well and having to get up early. I wasn’t really in the mood to go but I did and it was a great session. My eating is 90% good and I don’t crave sweet things. When I do have anything sweet it’s more because of habit but I don’t beat myself up for it, I just adjust the rest of the days food.

i was looking at myself in the mirror at the gym and did not feel short and dumpy. That is what my Dad would call me. I felt pretty small.47

Fit into my old 36 waist jeans with room to spare. Was busting out of 42's last April. 34's here I come!36

Friends asked my husband and me if we'd like to join them on a week-long cycling trip next summer. The NSV? That they actually think I'm fit enough/strong enough to do the trip with them!34

This is my favorite kind of victory because it shows the change in habits and mindset which are the biggest hurdles. When you change those, the results are inevitable.13 -
I'm perpetually in the doldrums of not being able to see much of a difference when I look in the mirror - though I'm mostly ok about it since my focus is on feeling physically better. But, four co-workers in the past two days have spontaneously made comments like how I'm melting, the pounds are falling off, etc. I'll call it a NSV win
Even better to me, though, was how one of those comments also included: "Wow, I think I should just have whatever you are eating from now on. You are so healthy and are looking amazing!". Aww shucks, someone thinks of me as being healthy!!! 🥰30
