Great job, everyone! I love reading all these NSVs, they're so motivating!
I decided today that I am going to sign up for a half marathon this year! I realized that I have done at least one half marathon in every city we've lived in, so this new one will be no exception! I'm still deciding when in the year to do it -- summer is sweltering with humidity (like I have never experienced before...it's brutal!! 😓😓😓 ) and I haven't been running in about a year so I'd need time to train. Maybe May or so? Wish me luck!! 🏃♀️🥇😅18 -
I went to a coffee shop this morning and got a decent good looking gentleman give a discreet and subtle head to toe quick gander. He then suavely started a conversation to get a better look and continued to try till he saw my ring. I haven't had this type of attention since 2009 when I was last in the normal Asian American bmi chart range. Im feeling encouraged to keep going to finish the last 10 lbs of my weightloss journey.18

I took a flight yesterday and at security they wanted to do a pat down. As she ran her hands round my waistband I realised just how much of a gap there was!14

Just looked back on my Runkeeper, and last year I ran the equivalent of 4 marathons. That's 8 half marathons. Or 17 10ks. Or 34 5ks. I did my first ever 5k a year and a half ago.
Running a Marathon by 30 is looking pretty dang possible.19 -
I was taking a picture of myself and didn't feel the need to angle my phone up over my head.
Because I don't have a double chin anymore!
I didn't even realize.23 -
I can wear my watch one notch tighter. It’s now #3 from the end, and I finally have enough strap left over to tuck away!
And I threw away a pair of underwear today since they just would not stay up.20 -
My dad noticed! He lives abroad and I haven't seen him since Christmas (but then I was wrapped up in jumpers and lots of layers), and the last time he saw me in cycling kit was in November. This morning I walked downstairs and he asked if I'd lost weight considering he's not normally the most attentive when it comes to that sort of stuff that's definitely a victory!25

It's definitely time I sorted out my underwear drawer and threw some away. I have been at work a couple of times and have felt my panties slip down and the only thing stopping them is the crotch of the work trousers. Fortunately, no one can tell especially as my work trousers are no longer tight and I wear a belt to keep those up. No way I want to spend £100 on a new pair of work trousers until I am done with the weight loss - can probably get away with not replacing those because of the belt. But the panties.. I need to replace those because I sometimes wear a work skirt. There is no way I can hitch panties up in front of clients without being seen so fortunately, I don't have to with the trousers on!
Oh and bras... how exactly do you know when your bra is too big? One of them I bent over and my boobs slipped out.. that was an obvious one but the rest of the bras - how do you know for sure? They probably are all too big but it's a bit costly to rebuy them all especially as I am only nearly halfway done.
I think my shoes are getting loose for several pairs but I've been a much lower weight before and have always had the same size shoe.. but all these threads about shoes getting loose has made me look at mine and wonder.

After losing 70 pounds last year I got lazy. I didn't track my food, ate things I knew I shouldn't and just fell completely off track and gained back 20 pounds in the last 6 months.
So my NSV is getting back after it. No more eating things I know I shouldn't eat, tracking my food, exercising and just getting off my butt and starting again.
The funny thing was I had logged 300 days in a row and then I went where there was no internet. So my streak ended and I used that as an excuse to stop logging and that was the start of my downfall. It was a foolish thing to do and I regret it.
Down 4 pounds already and I'm happy even tho I know it's water weight.
I have a new motivation. I want to take my wife someplace fun for our 50th anniversary in September. Maybe Bali or Thailand. She said it cost too much, I told her to go on her next 50th then.24 -
Today at church, a lady called me "skinny mini"... I have NEVER been called that in my entire life... so close to doctor's goal for me and so encouraged...18

...weird non scale victory. Wore one of the pants i bought from boxing day to work today, and they are quite a bit more form fitting than anything I would have worn before. I appear to have quite a butt in pants. It's like a lady butt. It's just out there...are women into this even? Huh. Puberty 2.0.7

There are those of us who appreciate a fine rear view. No worries.

My brain was mush today and I was feeling quite sorry for myself for various reasons. However I had some wins:
- I went for both a lunchtime and evening-commute walk which brings my steps to 10300 today. My average in 2019 was 4790per day, so far Jan avg is 7100/day. Goal is to have at least one month this year with a 10K/day average.
- Instead of buying All The Snacks (crazy selection of nuts in a new-to-me store) I exercised my lack of decision making power by buying none.
- Even though my tummy was rumbling I did yoga before dinner13 -
For the 177,000th time, I'm starting a new day one today. I know it's the right way for me to lose weight, but fall away from it so easily.
But, for today, I will count the win.21 -
1 big and 1 REALLY BIG ONE...
#1. Pulled out the ole Leslie Sansone Walk Strong dvd...I used to do this one when I was obese and overweight and it was tough, but I could get thru it. I used to LOVE this one, because it's an interval training/cross training on a mini-scale (low impact for sure) with a stretchie band --nothing tough, but you will sweat a bit and feel it nicely. Anyway, pulled that bad boy out and it was WONDERFUL. It's a two mile BUT, you stop and your muscle work in-between 2 brisk walks. I remember I hated to do the squats on this one so much, it was so hard AND I used to hate the holding your arms up while doing kick-backs...NO PROBLEM AT ALL NOW--yet, again, I felt it and it felt GOOD--I LOVE Leslie Sansone so MUCH! So, that's number one. I didn't do any "formal" exercising to get down to the size I am now (from 219.8lbs/size 22w to 134.0lbs size 6/8), and I've been desiring to do a wee bit of formal exercise for the past few days and BAM--mission accomplished.
#2. (THE BIG ONE)
My beloved handsome best friend hubby was watching me, and he said..."WOW--you're her (Leslie's) size now".
SAY WHAT?!???!!!!? When I was obese and overweight, my FORMALLY (what I deceived myself into believing was) my IMPOSSIBLE DREAM figure/body was Leslie's. I ALWAYS used to tell myself and others that Leslie Sansone's body/shape was EXACTLY what I wanted and for my husband to casually tell me that ( I got her figure now), sent me to the moon (but NOT during the exercises though --but AFTERWARDS, I hugged and kissed and thanked him profusely for sharing that with me. "You're down to her size"He said "you are" ...I thought to myself for real--then thought...FOR REALZ--YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Seriously, mere words can NOT express the joy/delight/humilty I feel--Thank you Lord and BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
P.S.--uhhhhhhhh. ummmmmmmmmmm...The answer is WOW and YES and BAM!25 -
@NewLIFEstyle4ME I wish there was a LOVE button on here; "Like" is not enough for that NSV!2

Girlllll...honey---I am to the MOON about this one. Absolutely positively WOW!!!!!! Thanks boo4 -
I sat in a chair while taking my girlfriend to the office today. It was an armchair. It did not pinch my thighs.21

Recently spent entire day at medical center getting remaining pre-op work done. A few times, med staff looked me up & down, then launched into lecturing me about what to eat for random micronutrients, because "you probably are not getting enough of it". O rly? Each time I very politely lectured back - pulled out my phone, and quoted my daily & weekly goals/averages, and cited sources for why my intake is stellar
It felt very, very good to prove that appearances are not everything 😁22 -
Seems strange because it involves the scale, but hear me out:
Stepped on the scale and saw I had gained about 1.5lbs in three days, but when I took my measurements I had lost 5.5 inches total in those three days! For the first time I truly did not care about the number on the scale, I was so proud of those inches!!33 -
Lol at the various above comments, I saw a Disagree on my decision to run a race, and I was like, "...wha...? Maybe they're disagreeing about the humidity part?" Then I noticed all the other disagrees with everyone else. I feel sorry for people who rain on others' parades, if that's the case.
Anyways!! I came down with a touch of the plague (I'm exaggerating - but I was very miserable!), but it's cleared up quickly and although I am not ready to resume my workout routine, I have an appetite and energy to go grocery shopping. I made some great choices at the stores today! And I weighed myself this morning and was down a whole bunch. I know it's totally not real (just from not eating hardly anything for three days) but seeing that temporarily-deflated number motivated me a lot. I know I can get there. This sickness was sort of like a 'detox' and I feel actually kind of refreshed and ready to make good progress now! I still need another day or two to completely rest my body but I feel in a healthy mindset and in a great place to resume control.14 -
Wore through the soles of my running shoes.
As of today, I have replaced most my everyday wardrobe. All the shirts are L instead of XXL. The shorts and jeans are loose 36.
I am keeping 1 XXL shirt and 1 40 shorts to wear for an "I did it" pic when I hit my goal weight.29 -
Student said I looked like I was in my twenties and my actual age is 44. Her mouth dropped to her chin and her eyes bugged out when I told her my age.12

Got another compliment at the gym today... "You're a strong woman!"18

So, me and my scales have been not on speaking terms this week. It's one of those weeks where the fecking thing refuses to budge, despite the fact that I KNOW I'm at a deficit 'cause I'm trackin' everything and my weighing scales just lives on the counter now 'cause there's no point whatsoever in chucking it in the cupboard only to take it out again in a few minutes.
(Especially since it doesn't weigh enough for that to count as resistance work..)
It's not as if I don't know full-well that there's a ton of very good reasons for this. I'm a month in to this, so the time of water-weight pounds just whooooshing right off me is over: I'm into the long, boring slog of it. And I've upped my intensity in the weights room and again, I know full-well that that lovely ache in my glutes the day after a heavy session at the squat rack is gonna come with my body holding onto, oh, pounds of water for as long as it damn well pleases.
Still, I'm always gonna huff at the scales when, for the sixth day running, the fecking thing hasn't budged a single ounce in any direction. I may know why but, damnit, I like it when I get to punch in the smaller number and watch the line on the graph edge downward. It's nice.
And so, this morning, I was giving the scales my filthiest glare after the wee fecker was holding the same line it's been insisting on all week. But fine. FINE.
...and then I put on my jeans, tie up my belt, put on my top and as I'm adjusting my top... HEY WAIT A SECOND.
The scales may be deliberately trying to wind me up. But no matter how the scales try to mess with me, nobody can deny my belt cheerfully and effortlessly closing one loop further in the right direction
Me and my scales are officially no longer friends. My belt is my new BFF45 -

So I think you have the same problem with your scales that many brands have. The thing is it has a memory to stabilise is so it doesn’t take too long trying to work out your weight. The downside of this is that every time you hop on the scale it just compares your sort of weight to the memory weight and shows the memory weight instead of spending five more seconds figuring out what you exactly weigh. Because apparently people get angry at having to wait. And you are 10 or 20lbs within the range so must be the same person.
What you need to do is give it a completely new weight in it’s memory so that when it weighs you it knows you are a different person being weighed and will take the time to find your exact weight.
So go and put something heavy on your scale that is not your weight and it will wipe it’s memory with the new weight. Then weigh yourself.

I pick up my cat so I can weigh her too lol.6 -
Y'all. Y'ALL! I work at an elementary school, and there is ALWAYS food, and often it's good but not mind-blowing, and the staff kitchen is 10 feet from my office, and I ALWAYS partake, and often more than is strictly necessary by a wide margin. This is a MAJOR source of above-what-I-need calories and a large contributor to my large *kitten*.
Somebody brought left-over cookies from an event, and they sat there yesterday from about 10am, and I avoided eating them! Well, technically I had like 2 bites, but that was it!
Then today, the PTO moms brought me a mini bundt cake for my earlier-this-month birthday. Y'all, it is chocolate chocolate chip, which is awesome. And I only at 1/4 of it! And logged it! I'm feeling pretty good about myself
