A good friend asked me last night when I was going to start competing in physique or powerlifting (she’s a power lifter). I was flattered, but demurred bc of my crappy hip and sub par squat. She insisted on knowing my lifts and was confident I’d do well for my age/size on the state level if I just competed in bench and deadlift...so...maybe I’ll join her team for a few sessions and see what the coach says 😬 def a confidence boost just to have someone ask me about competing!27

A lady I haven't worked with for almost a year turned up today and after a while said: 'you've lost quite a bit of weight since I last saw you'. Not even a question. Anyway I just replied, 'yes quite a bit,' and left it there.20

I was able to sweep and steam-mop the downstairs vinyl flooring in one go. Before this I had to sweep laundry room and back hall and sit for 20 minutes while my back recovered...sweep kitchen...sit...steam mop laundry and back hallway and sit....steam mop kitchen, and sit....and that was all I could do that morning, I hurt too much.
Today I did all that in fifteen minutes. I'm going to sit while the floor dries, but then I'll pick things up and run the vaccuum cleaner. This is great! I can handle the scale not moving much if I keep having things like this happen.26 -
Today one colleague said my clothes looked baggy because I'm so petite.
Another colleague today said my pants are falling off and she was going to buy me a belt. I agreed my pants don't fit me anymore. She's petite like me 4'11" but always was a good bmi.
I went home thinking the pants I was wearing was a size 6 - it was the size 4 that I had saved hopping I'd fit in them again since 2007. But now I don't fit because I'm 8.5 lbs from my doctor's goal for me. I never thought that would ever happen. I started as obese in the Asian American bmi chart and now I'm in the normal range of the same chart.

I had to use a belt on a dress that was too baggy. I bought the belt last year after I'd experienced some major weight loss. I noticed that I've moved 4 belt holes smaller from when I first got it. 😊

This week’s NSV: I’ve never had so many guys rush to open doors for me. I’m loving it. Doors are very difficult to open.29

I PR’d my shoulder press yesterday and today o signed up for fitness competition- my first ever. It is ok if I’m last place - I just hope to finish.18

My cheek bones are still indistinguishable from the fleshy part below them, but now I have like... valleys in the parts of my cheeks that run along my teeth-line. Wow, it's kind of hard to phrase this so that it makes sense, and I'm not sure I succeeded.20

Thank you!
Today I walked twice as far with the dogs. I used to be exhausted after this particular round and needed to lay down for a bit, but this time when I came back I just sat down behind my laptop to do some work. I'm so happy I'm feeling better already while I just started. Now I'm only hoping to stay motivated and working on keeping going. Have been on a weightloss journey in the past only to be stopped by health... Praying and hoping it won't happen again 🙌16 -

You're a winner no matter how you slice it.4 -
I decided to ‘kick start’ my weight loss for February but eliminating desserts/baked goods and limiting alcohol. This approach really helped me when I started losing weight in August. I’ve gone up on the scale the last month-just eating too much junk (probably residual habits from the holidays). Feeling more in control!19

What a difference a year can make! Amazing!4 -
I haven't posted before because my weight loss felt insignificant compared to other people's journeys. It's all "vanity weight", but those 15 pounds really affected the way I felt and my confidence levels. Now that I'm into maintenance, these NSVs are all I can focus on, and I achieved two that I'm really happy about:
1. I finally lost inches in my hips which had never felt possible before. I went from 35/26/38 measurements to 35/25/36 measurements which dropped me down a pant size!
2. I progressed from bodyweight squats all the way up to 40lb goblet squats in the first month of the NROL lifting program I'm working on.25 -
Company provided lunch yesterday, typically I always overeat and don't log when we have lunches like that. But I ordered the lunch this time, so I knew what we were getting. I made healthy choices, I logged prior to eating and most importantly I stuck with my plan and didn't say "screw it" and indulge in the treats that I would have loved to have.23

Ran 3 miles at a sub 9 min mile pace. 8.48 to be exact. My fastest time EVER. When i first started running in April I was barely able to get through 2 miles at a 14 min mile pace.31

I'm normally someone who's super focused on food when eating. Went out with a friend for lunch, and was so involved in conversation that it took forever to finish my food.20

I started this endeavor in mid November. Tonight hit 2000 km / 1240 miles on my indoor bike. Also my resting heart rate dropped from 61 to 52. Used to hate cardio when I was "young" and now it's what enables me to reach my goals.
Never felt this fit before.
PS: Netflix and Amazon Prime are a huge help during the training sessions.14 -
Every day activity is easier with prolonged bouts of standing and walking with lil to no back ache enabling me to do more and be 🤗better. .18

Got my body fat tested today and my BF% has gone down 2.5% in the last 4 weeks.25

I used to fantasize about an exercise bike that would power my TV... if I stopped pedaling, I'd lose what I was watching. Yeah, I'm someone who needs that kind of motivation.17 -
I didn't work out for a few months and I recently went back to the gym to start conditioning for half marathon training. I wasn't sure I'd be able to run for more than a few minutes, but I was still able to run for 30 minutes with no pain. It wasn't fast, but I didn't quit!22

I discovered that I can close my hand around my other wrist and touch my thumb and middle finger tips together. Works with the ring fingers too.13

I realised I can use the chest strap on my backpack and it’s not even at its most expanded!12

I do this too! I could just barely touch my thumb and middle finger together when I started, and now I can overlap my middle and ring finger over my thumb.12 -
I signed up for a 5K fun run through a soapy obstacle course. It's called Foam Fest.
Old me would have been like "I'll never make it I'm too fat and out of shape" but new me has decided that I'm GONNA make it.27
