I looked in the mirror this morning and realized that my calves are starting to scoot further up! It shocked me because I realized that I actually have pretty nice looking legs ;p18

I just realized I can stand up for WAAAAAAAY longer than before. I went through a rather dark time when I could barely manage ten minutes. I can get so much more done without being tired. And I can get up off the floor without using my hands. Honestly, house work is almost fun now (that'll wear off I'm sure) because I'm enjoying being able to bend and stretch and lift and scrub without being tormented physically!25

This was a great NSV day.
I went to the grocery store to get missing ingredients for my afternoon snack at the office, and I was already starving - big mistake. I needed both the ingredients for my regular snack and an extra snack for later in the evening. I looked around for a nice extra snack, found a new brand of gluten free oat cookies, looked at the label. The small package was over 500 calories and I would have definitely eaten it at one sitting. I put it back on the shelf and bought some ready-to-go overnight oats.
After those snacks I was ready to hit my first adult acrobatics class. The class is once per week and runs until Christmas. My goal was to re-learn how to do a cartwheel and forward roll/somersault (don’t know the exact English word) during the first two weeks. Those were part of the warm-ups and done in the first 15 minutes of the class, and I was able to do both! The class was super fun and I can’t wait for next week. I’m going to be extra sore tomorrow, but I’m sure it’s worth it.14 -
Everyone at work knows I'm a weightlifter and even though I'm in a pencil skirt and heels, they ask me to carry the heavy stuff.... and I always can do it! that's my NSV!23

I have a weird one for you: I found out I have hair on my chest. I lost so much weight that my old undershirts are loose. I guess the tight shirt used to rub off what little chest hair I had. Not anymore.
I looked in the mirror the other day and I was like, "what is THAT?" Scared the crap out of me until I figured out what it was. Then I figured out what was happening and I smiled. It was weird...and awesome.20 -

I love this thread and I’ve read every single entry. Mostly things are repeats (or variations on a theme) because hey, we’re not that different but this is a new one!10 -
Today I did a work out but could put more into it than I could at the beginning of Quarantine. Now I am so much stronger7

I walked a half mile after dinner.
Understand that I was told 20 years ago that all I would ever do on my right foot was transfer between bed and bathroom and chair, and I have been hoarding my weightbearing time and metering it out carefully so that I could manage to cook meals and clean... and you will understand why I am so amazed and overjoyed.39 -
Today, for the first time in nearly 20 years, I rode a bicycle. It was really tough and I only made it a little ways down the street and (most of the way) back, but I went out and put in the effort. And, even though my heart was pounding and my legs were jello, it felt like I discovered something pretty amazing about myself. So, that's my NSV for today33

My spouse blew my calorie totals by serving me way more calories than I thought - but I logged it anyway. And I just realized that it was still slightly under maintenance - so not a disaster. It's an NSV to be able to think of it that way.26

Today I found out that my fibro flares get better if I, despite the pain, exercise. It's like it resets my brain and then that bit of my brain realizes, "Oh, right, that ankle isn't sprained. There's no sunburn pain from the skin on the thighs. Never mind!" and turns off the pain.13

3 weeks into my effort to loose weight, Have been struggling to find the motivation to goto the gym but have managed to do 7 sessions so far.
Measured this morning, And I have lost 9 pounds, and my waist, stomach and chest are all over an inch smaller.15 -
2 NSV today:
Wore my size EU 44 navy shorts - they finally fit!
Went out to lunch and brought my own Tupperware to pack away half! Chatted to my friend about saying I was feeling a bit self conscious and hoped it didn’t embarrass him. He was very supportive and pointed out how great it was both not to waste food and not use a disposable container. I feel empowered 😃22 -

I had two NSV's today!
The first one was at the gym when I was doing my treadmill workout. Not only was I walking and talking easily at 3.2 mph, but when I looked down around the halfway mark, my pulse was still in the low 140's! Not too long ago, it would have been in the high 150's by that point. Plus, even at the end, my pulse never got above the mid-150's. I'm still pretty pleased with myself ^_^
The second one was when I got home and took my dogs for a walk (another thing that wouldn't have happened before-- I usually would have taken an hour to rest before taking them!) and looked down at my legs because I felt a bug. To my surprise, there were these dips in the sides of my leg, right behind the ankle bone. I thought they were some kind of injury, at first! But then, I realized my ankles just aren't swollen anymore...23 -
I crossed my arms and hit one of my left knuckles on something hard. Y'all...
It was my right bicep!
I have legit arm muscles 🤣35 -
I have collar bones!20

Yeah!!! This is one of the things I’m truly most excited to see again someday!6 -
I have found an analogy that I think will help encourage me not to overeat low fiber carbs. I would not overfill my car gas tank and I certainly would not put diesel fuel in. Thus, in taking care of myself, I can see the harm in overfilling, especially on the wrong type of fuel.21

moonangel12 wrote: »Sunburn pain on thighs - do you take acetaminophen, or anything that contains it?? I always attributed that particular symptom to a fibro flare only to find it was actually me developing a drug allergy! I had it off and on for years (don’t take Tylenol often), but it wasn’t until a major surgery when I was prescribed one of the hydro- pain meds that I realized the correlation. It got to the point that sitting on the toilet made me want to cry! Called my doc and they said to stop meds ASAP and to label myself allergic. Thought I would mention it just in case.
It's good to know that can be a symptom, but no. I don't take any OTC painkillers on a regular basis, just, ah, herbal ones in my nightly piece of fudge.
I don't take hydrocodones anyway when I have work done on me because they shut my gut down and bind me up like there's no tomorrow. Only thing I've found that doesn't do that is Tramadol.3 -
I was able to jog for 6min 35secs without stopping. I haven't done that in over 20 years!19

One more (now three out of five) diabetes meds stopped! Woo hoo!
Blood sugar absolutely normal!
My Fitbit waistband is one notch tighter now.25 -
I did C25K week 5 day 2 today. Two 8-minute runs with 5 minutes walking in between. However, the NSV was that I was feeling so good after that I decided to just run some more. Ended up running a mile without stopping, clocking that mile at 13'20". Obviously not fast, but it was steady and comfortable. I wouldn't have been able to do that two months ago.22

I've been going to HITT work outs for 3 weeks, in my first week I couldn't even hold a single plank for 4 seconds. Tonight I held a plank for 18 seconds 3 times in a row. It's not much but it's a hell of an improvement!22

I last posted in this thread in 2017 shortly before going through a difficult breakup and falling off the weight loss bandwagon.
I tried to get back on track in 2018 for a bit, but just couldn’t manage it.
So my NSV is that I’m back.
Two years later and with a starting weight 80 lbs heavier than my all time lowest, but I’m back.42 -
Had some brand new one-size smaller underwear in my drawer, and it's so comfortable! Did you know you can put 100% cotton old underwear in your compost pile?! (minus all the elastic, of course!)11

I had company come over earlier than I said. And I told them to come an hour later so I could finish my work out. They did not listen but I managed to finish my work out anyway. No excuses. My legs are getting stronger.15

I've been doing almost exclusively online pickup orders for my grocery shopping, which really helps me avoid buying the sweets that I would typically binge on. This evening I had a craving for rotisserie chicken, so I decided to make a run to the store to pick one up. While there, I made eye contact with a package of chocolate chip cookies and for the briefest of moments, I considered throwing away my last month's progress and grabbing all the processed sugar my heart desired. But then I said, "no, just pick yourself out some tasty sauce to have with the chicken" and I left the store with only my chicken and sauce.31

Just had my first week back in gym after lockdown and, according to my PT I smashed it and I am only 3 lbs up on my pre lockdown weight16

I put back some of the crackers I'd logged and was working on as an evening snack. I was about 3/4 through them when I realized I wasn't hungry anymore and figured why continue.
What an odd experience to someone who generally doesn't get moments like this! (I often don't feel "not hungry"; rather, I am hungry unless I'm F-U-L-L.)17
