    I hate Planet Fitness's marketing and their business model.

    However I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from getting fitter, so if a person wants to go to Planet Fitness I've got no problem with that as long as they don't express the same anti-fitness sentiment as PF.

    If you like PF, then by all means continue to go :)

    I belong to Planet Fitness and my only complaint is that it's a pain in the butt to drive there sometimes, because it's across town for me. But otherwise, I have no complaints. I think it depends on which one you belong to and the individual owners.

    As far as Planet Fitness goes (is that even what this thread is about anymore? :huh: ), it seems to me like it heavily (HEAVILY) depends on the location.

    I've heard of a lot of locations sounding the lunk alarm and kicking people out on a routine basis. On the other hand, I've read a lot of good reviews from people who said that this never happened at their location. As far as I can tell, the Planet Fitness in my hometown sounds alright. I'd rather go to the YMCA, but I'd say close to 90% of the people I know that go to the gym have a membership at Planet Fitness. I haven't heard any complaints from them (save one, but that was about the trouble they gave her for cancelling her membership; it had nothing to do with the quality of her workouts).

    It's a franchise, so every location will be a little different depending on the management.

    Whatever any of us feel about PF itself, imo no one should be disparaging the people who work out there just because they workout there.

    If the complaint is that PF discourages achievement, it's important to realize that making people feel bad about their gym of choice is going to do the same thing.
