Hi all:
Its been two weeks since I got back to the basics so to speak; I have gotten to the gym 5 days a week and I have been eating healthy. Hubby did research on glutin and we have been improving on that as well.. I usually get bored at 4 weeks and yoyo diet...I am determined not to do that this time :-)
I also attend WW meetings, I am hoping to get to goal this time around between WW meetings and MFP. I am getting so encouraged by all your posts...thank you!!!
Tomorrow I weigh in at WW so I am hoping for a loss...last week was almost 4lbs ..which has been so overdue...I have been gaining every week.
Saturday nites is our date nite (hubby) lol...and we usually have drinks and I make horderves....just trying to keep it within my 1400 calories; I have been under all week so I am hopping the weight loss keeps coming, lol.
Wishing you all a great weekend:-)

Good evening! I felt so much better today. Possibly because I skipped my water pill this morning. I still had some lightheadedness, but not nearly as severe. My diastolic BP was around 68 most of the day. Of course, the systolic was a little higher too, so not sure which number is more important.
I just got back from my third walk of the day. I walked 45 minutes at the mall this afternoon. I can see why people walk at the mall. It's cool and not sunny. Then we walked with the dogs, then I went out by myself. Fitbit says my grand total for the day is 12,584 steps! A new record for me.
I talked to my son for quite a while this afternoon. In spite of his little scare last night, he told me he's feeling LOTS better since he started getting his antitrypsithan infusions. He doesn't need his oxygen nearly as much now, and doesn't have the feeling that he's at deaths door. So that made me very happy. Hopefully it will continue.
I'm not posting the joke of the day today because I thought it was rude and racist. Maybe tomorrow's will be better.
Well, I think I'm going to take a long shower and go to bed.
Nighty night!

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Heather, thanks for the update on Amanda…..wow, she has been waiting a long time for her surgery…I bought my ankle weights from Amazon at a time when they had free shipping….I hate to think of what the shipping would have been because they were so heavy.
 Carol in NC, congrats on getting some sleep and getting so many steps
 Kim, congrats on losing another pound….I admire your persistence in installing the garbage disposal.
:flowerforyou: I have been very lax about strength training except for plank once a week---I guess I’d better get my copy of SWSY off the shelf and get busy again.

Here it is Friday already, this week zoomed by. Tuesday we had a killer (and I do mean KILLER) hailstorm that took out my seedlings and shredded most other plants. I think I've been depressed ever since. It's going to be a rather ugly-looking yard this summer. :ohwell: Most things at the vegetable garden did ok, I sure hope the squash plants survive.
I'm still fighting an inner ear problem from the virus I've had. It's been 5 weeks now, geez! Might need to go see a specialist, I just heard of a great ENT Dr nearby. Really getting tired of this. Bouts of vertigo, too. Not fun! :grumble:
Ok enough complaining. I've been trying to get back to logging regularly, doing ok with that. Exercise is mostly gardening, but I did start up with doing wall pushups and squats this week. Wait, did I only do them on Monday? :blushing: Ahem! I'd best get after it before I melt into a puddle of mush.
Nice to see so many new people here. :flowerforyou:

Edited to add that Mariah had her 2nd chemo treatment yesterday, this time it was administered in her brain. I haven't heard any news about how it went, but I know she didn't feel so great after the 1st treatment. I'm afraid the poor girl's in for a long, long haul. Good thoughts and prayers most appreciated.0 -
Did 50 min of spinning today. Tomorrow I'm planning to do Jari Love Revved to the Max DVD. You know something? I think it's about time for some new DVD's for me! Well, Total Fitness DVD's will be having their sale soon.
After exercising I went to mahjongg since it rained last night and it's probably too wet under the deck to do any riverrocking. Left early and went in the pool, then came in, had some nuts and started preparing dinner
Meg - that "aqua boot camp" class sounds really neat. Wish they'd do something like that around here.
Carol in Monroe - I swear, the absolute WORST part of an aqua aerobics class is having to walk in front of a mirror in your bathingsuit. But on the positive -- it doesn't matter how you look since you're in the water! One lady in our water aerobics class is (how do I say this nicely) so big that she needs to have someone help her put the floation belt on. But she's a real trooper and I can see how baggy her bathing suit has gotten since she started. I don't remember who it was (Meg?) but she's so right. It does seem that the more "mature" women have a good relationship with their bodies.
elliec - welcome
A big welcome to everyone new that I don't mention individually
Kim - it's real hard to recommend a DVD. However, if you go to Total Fitness DVD's website, you can search by "beginner" and view clips of the DVD's to see if it's something for you. When looking for DVD's I usually go here first, view the clip then check on Amazon.com for the reviews. They don't have clips but many times their price is better than Total Fitness. However, you do need to have a minimum $35 purchase for free shipping at Amazon and you only need a minimum of $19 at Total Fitness. I used to try doing the body pump youtube videos, but I found that I could see my screen if I was standing, but as soon as I was laying down on a bench, I couldn't see the screen.
I usually lay in the pool for an hour (only an hour as I burn fast and don't want to burn) but now I've started using my body board and I do two at least two sometimes three laps (good for the legs, I guess). Then, to sort-of dry off so that I'm not dripping water, I sweep the stairs to the pool and then see if I see any weeds growing among the riverrock. Sometimes they do, but it's surely less than there was before. Today I also used the aquabroom and cleaned out the spa. Vince suggested that I keep the batteries in the mud room (duh...why didn't I think of that?) so that I don't have to traipse thru the house if I'm dripping.
Cynthia - for sure you'd be missed if you didn't check in. Yea for the smaller sized jeans
Alison - try to have a good time in NH.
monogain - where in the Poconos are you? We used to live in Stroudsburg. Boy, has 611 gotten built up!
Carol in NC - congrats on being able to do all that walking! I know it'll help you lots. We had a big rainstorm yesterday and it took the temp down by about 10 degrees. You certainly wouldn't know it today, tho
Cindy781 - I do hope your friend joins us
teri865 - welcome
Sylvia - When I took the SafeServ course, there were some things that I never in my life thought of when they were discussing cross contamination. Glad your son is OK
Vicki - we just read where Harley Davidson is coming out with an all electric motorcycle and I thought of you. So sorry about your hubby's sister. Congrats on those shorts. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you
Joyce - glad you had a good night's sleep
drkatiebug - you did well at Ryan's. when Ryan's was around here, they would grill some chicken for me.
Joyce - one of our cats got to be 22lbs right before we moved into the house. Well, we were in an apartment and he didn't get much exercise. As soon as we moved to the house, he lost (down to about 18 or 19lbs) and we're sure it's because he was walking up and down the stairs and all over the house. We give our cats the Authority weight management dry cat food (PetSmart's brand). It's the cheapest and they don't seem to mind. When we give Loki his medicine, we give the other cats (and Loki after he's taken his pill) either Fancy Feast dry or this cat chow dry. They don't get it in the regular food dish, so to them it's a treat. Plus, it's cheaper for me....lol. Even tho PJ was overweight (the 18lbs one) I always looked at it "he's happy".
Sylvia - so glad your son is better some. What a relief!
jb - good thoughts being sent for Mariah.
We went to a play "Forever Plaid", it was very good. Tomorrow I'm determined that after I exercise, I'm going to go to the farmer's market, probably stop at CVS and then Bi-Lo since I'll be by that way, just for the things on sale.
Vince thinks it should be OK for us to riverrock tomorrow. How I want to get that done!
Michele in NC0 -
I needed to put Heather’s note to self to use last night, and didn’t. I ended up awake most of the night feeling awful, and unable to do much but sit and read today. We went to the concert with neighbors and I had sangria. (too much sangria) :blushing: Does anybody remember that stuff from the bad old days? Wine and fruit juice and who knows what. Sweet and fruity, and contains a bunch of alcohol. I don’t’ think I’ll have sangria again for another 40 years. :noway: At least, not if I can help it.
The good news is that I felt good enough to read. I’ve spent most of the last 24 hours reading Diana Gabaldon’s newest book, Written in my Own Heart’s Blood. I’m almost done with it, too, but I’m going to bed. I can finish it tomorrow. I love her books about Jamie and Clare and I'm really enjoying this one despite feeling lousy. I am feeling some better now.:embarassed:

Sylvia – how scary! I am glad your son is doing ok.
Vicki – Drives me crazy when I get left out of the loop until things are critical… sending good thoughts!
Great NSV on the new smaller shorts! The anniversary of your son’s death is hard, take care! :flowerforyou:
Kathy – what a great hubby, I bet you could rent him, not just loan him out.
Viv – maybe you can plan an evening munchies, I do – fruit or veggies or even a WW 90cal. Ice cream bar.
Meg - I love Indian food, but only one friend does so I don’t get it often…
DrKatie Bug - Good job!!!!
Phyllis- keep up the good work… sometimes if I know I am having a spluge night I do some extra exercise to give me a few more calories to “play” with.
JB – sending good thoughts to Mariah….
Michele – thanks for the lead on the web page, I did not even know where to look – to be completely honest I have rented a DVD from redbox, or checked one out of the library, but have never bought one or been given a DVD…. So I am a real newbie on this stuff. You had mentioned Total Fitness, I just assumed it was a store near you.
Nothing much going on here… getting work done and enjoying the quiet.

Hello ladies. It sure is hard to keep up around here!
My news is that the scale has finally moved, and i have lost 2.4 kilos! That translates to 5.28 pounds, It sounds like more in pounds, doesn't it?
Thursday I ate over my points but logged every calorie. Our weekends are usually so busy. Today is a stay at home day. I hope to et quite a bit done in the house and the yard/garden.
Enjoy your weekend!

Good morning! It is warm here!:glasses:
Katla - oooohhhh yes, that sangria is a killer! It slips down like fruit juice and then kicks like a mule! Did you log the calories?
I got through 400 cals of alcohol plus 900 cals of food last night, which took me just up to my TDEE. Phew, not too much damage done! The cauliflower cake went down a storm. There is still some left for lunch, so it has easily served 10. Also I have goat and sweetcorn curry left for tonight, so todsy ix a cooking holiday for me! :glasses: :flowerforyou:
It helped that the man guest is a recovering alcoholic, which I didn't know before hand, so not too many bottles were opened. He left the juice from the rhubarb desert which had Cointreau in. If I had known I would have made an alcohol free one for him. I can understand why people don't want to broadcast these things, but I did email them to ask if there was anything they can't, won't or don't eat. Lots of desserts have alcohol in them.
Anyway, it was lovely to have them round, but he looked so tired. He had spent the whole dsy with his 93 year old mother and at 10.30 he had an emergency phone call from her so they had to dash off. She slso has a 90+ mother and it reminded me of some of you.:flowerforyou:
Today is the village church fete, held in the grounds of the biggest house in the village.( Noblesse oblige. ) I expect we will go to show our faces. I hope my yoga friend will be there. Two of my other yoga friends are helpers on the baked goods stall. This is the first year they have had good weather for it. Two years ago it was washed out altogether.
Vicki - hope your DSIL gets the help she needs. Such a worry.

Happy Saturday Everyone,
I will start the day with some yoga. Then my workout is strength training for chest and back. After that I will be on the treadmill. Yesterday got so hot and muggy. I stayed in and worked on my latest art project. You can see it on my profile page photos. I still have some work to do on it but I am so pleased with it I wanted to share it with you. I don't know why it loaded sideways though.:grumble:
Vicki, hugs. :flowerforyou:
Pam, congratulations on your weight loss!
Sylvia, I'm glad your son is OK. What a scare!
Kim, glad you are getting some quiet time.

Eye appointment was great. The other eye doctor thought he saw a cataract forming. My regular eye doctor gave me the all clear. Car got its alignment. It wasn’t too bad considering all the pot holes we had and have up here in Minnesota.:grumble: So far no water in the basement after almost 10 inches of rain this month. We live near a creek, but it too has not flooded. About twenty years ago they constructed a watershed project. Shortly thereafter we had a ten inch rain in one day. No flooding as a result. What has kept the water out of our basement this summer is our gutters are working better and I regraded the window. We had problems with it last summer. Over time the soil in the garden built up right to the sill. I dug it out. Unfortunately some of the areas close to me have not been so fortunate. Prayers to them. Having dealt with minor water damage in our basement area I know how awful it must be for those dealing with major flood damage and mud slides (shutter).:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Today will enjoy the dry sunny day we are having, so I wake to a healthier tomorrow.

Pam in the Netherlands: Congratulations on your loss! 5.28 pounds definitely seems like more than 2.4 kilos. I wonder what line graphs would look like side by side.:flowerforyou:
Heather: I logged every last bite and swallow. I try to keep honest about that although there have been plenty of occasions where I’ve had to guestimate portions. At home I can measure them, but not in a restaurant or food fair. I hope you enjoy the village church fete.:flowerforyou:
Margaret: Congratulations on the positive eye exam. I’m happy you haven’t had problems from all the rain in your area.:flowerforyou:
Cindy: Your artwork is wonderful. I’m really impressed with your talent.:flowerforyou:
I am alive! I survived the sangria hangover and am severely chastised by my own body. :blushing: Today looks like it will be lovely weather. I expect to play with our boats. DH replaced the windshields on the fishing boat yesterday. I wonder if he’ll want to launch it today. The sailboat is having big time battery problems and the grab bar DH had modified doesn’t fit and will have to go back to the welder for adjustment. :grumble: I plan to finish the last bit of Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, too. I hope there will be another book in the series. There is plenty more Revolutionary War history to provide drama and battle accounts. I’ll find out at the end whether it seems likely the saga can continue. It takes Ms Gabaldon about 4 years to write these things, so this one will have to hold me for a while. I’ll be able to reread it. Any book worth reading is worth reading again. And again….
Happy Summer Solstice! May your longest day of the year be filled with good things and fun.:drinker: :flowerforyou: :drinker: :flowerforyou:

Wow! I got so behind on the posts ... so skimmed along ...
Happy to report a full week ... with final exams (regents for those of you in NY) ...and son was headache free!! Saw his neurologist who is convinced it is the Botox working ... and I'm convinced it's the diet ... but we're both thrilled to see him break the pain cycle. Doctor plans to do another Botox treatment in August and I'm still doing the diet modifications since we're all feeling better on it ... so hopefully son's health will see permanent improvement! It's good to see smiles on my son's face again.
The couple pounds I've put back on since Easter are finally leaving. Lots of work this weekend to do outside so hopefully the last of it will go as well and I can start losing again towards my goal.
I pray for all of you when I'm reading... but sometimes one of your names or situations pops to mind while I'm driving or working. Alison ... you came to mind a lot ...
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi from sunny York
Not a bad day so far, two dog walks done, washing on the line, most of the chores done and food (so far) logged!
:flowerforyou: Michele I envy you being able to sit by your beautiful pool, our garden is quite small and it sometimes feels as if I'm in a goldfish bowl! I do sit out on the patio on a sunny morning, but by early afternoon the sun has moved around to the front - it's nice to sit out on an evening though when it's too hot to be inside, we just need to finish off the tiling - had to abandon it last year when the weather got too wet :ohwell: so we need to get that done before it rains again.
:flowerforyou: Well I've been on the pc long enough and I still have a few bits to tidy up before tea, 15611 steps on my fitbit If I do another Lesley Sansone walk after tea it should take my steps up to 18000+
Have a good weekend everyone0 -
:flowerforyou: Good Morning from California. I am new to this post and new to the message boards. I have used my fitness pal off and on individually with some success but always stop. This time my whole family is participating; my husband and twin teen daughters. My husband and I are the only ones who need to lose weight.
My amazing daughter has encouraged us to change our lifestyles and continue to improve our eating habits so I introduced the whole family to my fitness pal and we have all started tracking what we eat to make sure we have the correct balance of foods and for the girls enough calories ,
I have quite a bit of weight I want to lose, but I am tired of the yoyo dieting and want to do it right this time.
Are there any general norms for posting on this message board?
Brenda0 -
Hi gals from the hot and sunny beaches oh Clearwater. We're having a great time so far, working hard on unwinding. Eating horribly, but trying so hard to make smart choices. Walking every morning on the beach. Plus staying on the move. Aaron finally saw Winter the dolphin yesterday. Tomorrow is Disney. Hung out at the pool this am and just chillin and doing a little laundry right now.
Hope everyone is well. Not able to read back. Will check back soon.

:flowerforyou: That's a great question. If you read a few of the posts, you'll see that we are all encouraging and supportive of each other.....there are no negative comments about anyone else's lifestyle, personal choices, or eating plans:bigsmile: this is a good place to share your successes and frustrations regarding your weight loss journey or other aspects of your life....it's a good place to ask questions and to share good ideas about life or weight loss.

Brenda, welcome! Talk about anything that effects your life. We love getting to know each other. I think that everything that touches your life effects your weight goals in some way, either good or bad. Congrats on getting your whole family on board. Having twin daughters must be fun. They seem like pretty smart girls, too.
Gloria, such a shame that you have to do laundry while on vacation! I hope you have a great time!
Beth, great news for your son! Fingers crossed that it continues.
I just finished walking at the mall. I got home with FOUR steps short of my goal, but of course I got those just walking across the garage. Tonight there will be a dog walk at the lake, so I should be well over 10,000 for the day. I'm feeling better today too.
Ok, I liked today's joke of the day:
Three men wanted to cross a river. They had no idea how to cross it, so one man knelt down on his knees and prayed "Lord give me the power and strength the cross the river." suddenly the man became very strong and swam across the river. The next man thought: if it worked for him, it'll work for me. So he knelt down and prayed "Lord give the skills and the strength to cross the river." the man built a canoe and rowed himself across the river. The last man thought: if it worked for both of them, I know it'll work for me. So he also knelt down and prayed "Lord give me the wisdom and knowledge to cross the river." He turned into a woman and walked across the bridge.
Have a great weekend!

Hi girls! Happy summer solstice for those who finding meaning in the day and who are inspired by nature’s rhythms.
I should have kept my mouth shut about the weather; we emerged from the restaurant into a storm and by the time it ended, we had nearly 7 “ of rain!!! It came down in buckets! Our tree out front has some damage; looks like some is from the storm last weekend and some from last night. One of our awnings came out of the tracks too. Today it’s hot and very, very humid. I worked in the garden a bit and was dripping with sweat.
Dinner was fabulous; they have a new Indian fusion menu, so believe it or not I had a wonderful steak. DH had tandoori salmon which was magnificent! Tonight we are going to the Omaha Community playhouse to see Young Frankenstein…that was DH’s father’s day gift.
DrKatie: I’d say that was a victory too!
Cynthia: yes, Indian Indian, or as my dad would say, continental Indian. My friends had tandoori chicken and lamb and it was delicious too they said. I have the fitbit one….the one that tracks your sleep.
Sue: I see SD is getting some bad weather too and I hope you are clear of it.
Joyce; yes, brushing cat and dog teeth is important! Our cats do not have any claws and they don’t bite, so other than lots of squirming and fussing, it isn’t too hard. The “little” cat weighed 13.9 and the fat boy weighed 17.9 which was surprising…we though he was pushing 25!
Phyllis: what kind of appetizers do you make? We have started having “cocktail hour” once a week or so and I don’t really have good ideas for that.
Sylvia: both numbers of the BP are important, but the diastolic (bottom number) is more important in looking at how hard your heart is having to work. Glad DS is better. Great job on the steps! That was a great joke!
Jb: sorry about the hailstorm! We’ve had too much of that. Sending prayers to Mariah. I just can’t get over how cute the puppy pic is!!!!
Michele: yes that was me saying the older ladies seem to be more comfortable in their own bodies and don’t really care who sees them or what they think. I’m getting sick of that river rock too LOL!!!:laugh:  Sending you pixies to help get that done! I’m sure you will be delighted when it’s complete!
Katla: so sorry you over-imbibed! I hate sangria. Way too sweet for me!
Kim: a quiet house is marvelous, isn’t it?
Alison: have safe travels and a good trip
Pam: congrats on that weight loss That is fabulous!
Heather: sounds like that rhubarb dessert is something I’d like!
Cindy: wow you are so talented! Oh my gosh that is gorgeous!!! What medium is it? On the computer it looks like charcoal or pencil. I am so envious of your abilities!
Margaret: glad you are staying dry there!
Beth: hooray for all those headache free days!!!
Viv: what a great step total!
Brenda: welcome aboard. I don’t know about Norms, we all seem to get along quite well. I do know everyone here is respectful of our differences.
Well I am off to get a few more things done before it’s time to start getting ready for the evening. Take care all Meg from Omaha where I’m not commenting on the weather any more!0 -

Happy Saturday, everyone,
Made it to yoga this am which went well; about an hour later, while sitting, I turned slightly to look out the window, felt something shift in my lower back and felt a fairly sharp pain, and have been uncomfortable ever since.........Aspirin and ice for the remainder of the day, I think.
DD had quite the spill yesterday. She was about 5 miles from the house during her run yesterday when she stepped on one of those spiked gum balls from a tree and went down. A very nice man stopped his truck and helped her up and offered to call 911 which she turned down and tried to "walk it off". Ended up calling me to pick her up---quite a mess..........skinned hands, skinned knees, one skinned elbow and arm, sore wrist from impact and turned ankle on the left side, lots of blood from the knees. Brought her home and helped her into the shower to see just what the damage was. Got the dirt washed out of the scrapes and the bleeding stopped and bandaged and she spent the rest of yesterday in the lazy boy with ice at various points on all four limbs. Today, she's moving like nothing happened..............ahhhh, youth.
Nothing much else new here.
Someone (Kim??) asked a few days ago about hitchhiking...........nope and nope.
Sangria...........Had 2 small glasses last summer at a party; no ill effects, delicious!!!
Beth...........So glad for your DS's migraine relief!!! Wonderful!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
yanniejannie
mid-Atlantic...........lots of rain overnight, birdbath was overflowing this am!!!0 -
Good Morning ladies. The walk home from work yesterday was not to bad but I was soaked by the time I got there as it was so muggy. What a night! We had rain and hail and we lost half our apple tree. No other damage that we could see last evening. We did have a nice evening with our CMA group and am sad to see acouple moving away. Now today I am working and tonight we have a wedding. I think it is strange as the wedding starts at 6pm. I am getting off early to go.
Meg--My fitbit vibrates when I reach 10000 steps. Surprised me the first time and then on the web page was a smiley face. We got several inches of rain again last evening and large hail. When I got to work this morning the night charge nurse had the back window of her car broke out. Our pastoral person today showed us pictures of his siding with large holes. I want to go home and look at our house as it was dark last evening and this morning when I went to work.
Sylvia--glad to hear DS is doing better.
jb--Thanks for keeping us updated on Mariah. Keeping her and all of you in my prayers.
Katla--Sure hope you are feeling better.
Pam--congrates on your loss and it does sound like more in pounds. Keep up the good work.
Beth--great news about DS.
Gloria--sounds like you are having lots of fun and relaxing. Good for you.
yanniejannie--OMG I sure hope your back feels better soon. Somedays I think the harder I try to get healthly the more I end up hurting myself. Glad DD is ok, sounds like she took quite the fall.
Well not alot else going on so best get some work done so can leave early to go to the wedding. Sounds like more storms tonight and tomorrow. Sure hope not. Remember we are not in this alone.
Blessings, Vicki from stormy Grand Island, Nebraska0 -

Alison – have a great time! Take time for you!!:flowerforyou:
Pam – Great job on getting the scale to move! And on logging everything even when you go over, for me it really helps me figure out what was important for next time.
Heather – do you keep notes on friends likes/dislikes or who is a recovering alcoholic? I do… I have each person on a 3x5 card with their name, address, email on the front…use it for Christmas card mailing – then on the back the top bit is for directions to their house and the bottom bit is for dietary issues…. Then I can just check when I am inviting folks…:blushing:
I think the idea of a village church fete is delightful; in CA we don’t really have anything that is comparable, as nothing really includes the whole town – Dublin (my town) thinks it’s Irish and does a St patty’s day thing but there is a charge for everything and it is spread around..very commercial.
I did look, when you first put the pic up because the top is a beautiful color but you looked heavy, and I looked at all your pics and like the black (maybe dark brown) and white dress best, you look stunning in that pic.
Cindy – that drawing is STUNNING!!! What an accomplished artist you are!
Beth – a whole week !!!! YEAH –

Well Levi and I walked this morning did the "hills" which are far from hills but little inclines and I felt it! then finished up the recipe booklets, marketing list, did the marketing, un-packed it checked against the recipes and repacked it - then packed up all the pots, pans ect... The center I teach at provides a fully working kitchen but NOTHING else - I even have to bring dish soap. So that took from 6:30am-4:30pm I need lunch:frown: think I'll just do an early dinner. When I was at the store, I saw some shrimp on sale and picked them up for tonights dinner... don't know how I'll do them but something - I have some peppers in there and salad fixings, there is brown rice or the low cal noodles... hmmm typing out loud - the message board version of thinking out loud.....
I will finish up a couple of jackets tonight and tomorrow and then little to no embroidery until next weekend. My hair needs a cut - and I just called and she is booked for a whole week...:frown: I should not have waited until my hair looked like a sheepdog's !

OK Meg, you need to walk me through this!!!! What kind of a tooth brush, how often, how in the world do you get your cat to cooperate? It was bad enough having to squirt a syringe full of medicine in her mouth. She does have back claws, doesn't use them that often but she does know how. What kind of damage might I have done by not doing it these months. I think we have had her for almost 2 years. I want her to be healthy.
We have so many new members, it is going to take time for me to get to know you all. Please excuse me if I don't remember you. I have MS and my short term memory is one of my problems.
It is not that humid here today so at 90* it only feels like 90*. I am grateful for that.

:flowerforyou: I am glad someone asked about norms about this forum. It has not come up as a dividing issue, so we must be doing something right. I also believe that it is about respecting each other, our beliefs and our boundaries. In addition, it is about acknowledging and encouraging each person's journey. That validation is a huge part of this forum's continuation and most certainly has been something that I have been grateful for.
I had an unpleasant reaction last night to one of the puffers I was prescribed yesterday. So, for now I will stick with the one I can handle, based on what the pharmacist confirmed. I actually felt better today, and since I am not contagious, I went to visit DD with infant without having to use a surgical mask. Oh my, he is quite adorable. He has very dark hair, just like his mommy when she
was born. At 4 ms. all her dark hair fell out, and came back blond. Go figure. Anyway, I had some beautiful bonding time with little GS. I am taking next week off to look after mom and baby, while daddy goes back to work.
I called my mom (like I do every day now) and she sounded good. She is such a cheeky old woman. I do think some if it is the morphine speaking, of course. But nonetheless, it maybe that she hangs in there for another couple of weeks. Who knows. She keeps surprising us at 91 and skin and bones. She is receiving very good care. My 2 sisters and I happen all to have a lot going on in our Lives. Murphys law, isn't it. My brother tends to be absent in times such as this.
Today is the first day of summer and I did a bit of deadheading in the flower garden after I had a nap. It made me feel better about all the goings on. And it's a gorgeous day here in paradise.

Well I am disappointed in my weigh in today. I am doing WW and have until July 22, which will be the end. One reason I came back to My Fitness pal, It worked for me in the beginning so am trying again. I reset my goals back to 0 so I can see how I am doing from this point. I was so excited to find an app for my iphone that is a pedometer that connects to MFP. I started today and will definatley have to move more It will even keep track of my steps if the phone is in my purse. But guess what it can't keep your steps if your purse is in the cart. Went shopping today and duh put it in my bra after I realized it was in my purse. Had a good Saturday got to have lunch with my son and my 2 grandkids DIL was out of town. So nice to spend time with him. He works nites so i try not to invade their family time on the weekends. I see my DIL and GKs a lot for dinner so I felt like I got an early birthday present today.
Went to the health food store, does anyone drink Aloe Vera juice? What are your thoughts?
Keep up the good work ladies, me on the other hand back to salads, fruits and eating better I knew I blew it with food this week.

Yannie Jannie, I believe a sweet gum ball was the culprit for my broken wrist. Those things are deadly! Hope your DD will be okay.
Speaking of my wrist, I haven't whined about it lately. It has been 5 months and I still don't have full range of motion, although it is much better. The thing that bugs me most is that my shoulder seems to have shut down. The PT gave me exercises for it, so I hope they will help, she dismissed me last week since I can basically do what I need to do at home.
You all have a great Saturday night and a restful Sunday.0
