From a guys perspective his TOM guy sounds like a real douche... Just dump him, you can do better girlfriend! :flowerforyou:

Another supporter of the Mooncup (probably called the Diva cup in USA!) - since I started using mine, my periods have got more regular and much easier to cope with. yes there is an 'ick' factor but I find leakage way less of a problem than with tampons. Plus you can wear the mooncup if you think you are going to start - its silicone rubber (not the dangerous silicon they use in boob implants!) so don't have the risk of leaving microscopic strands of cotton behind!
As far as work outs go, I get really tired a couple of days before and for the first 2 days but usually do what I can. If i've had a heavy flow all night I won't get up at 5am to go to the gym and have a day off.0 -
I do long runs in the extra thin maxis and never have an issue.0

Can you wear compression shorts under some running shorts or something? Have you tried a menstrual cup like the Diva Cup? Or maybe just workout at home those days so it doesn't matter what you think you look like?
I've found that working out has made TOM easier on me. Tampons don't work for me, and I hate pads, so I use a Diva Cup. (I know TMI, sorry.)
The diva cup was an awful experience for me. I'm strangely uncomfortable with touching my body so having to fish that nonsense out almost sent me to the hospital cause it was stuck. I've heard so many positives about it but yeah it was unbearable for me
I'm sorry it didn't work for you. After 2 husbands, 3 kids, and working as a CNA, I'm pretty much okay now with bodily stuff. Not everything works for everyone, though, which is probably why there are so many different items on the market.0
