OH MAH LAWD. Why do people care how other people lose weight? If they're losing weight, GOOD FOR THEM. Cheer them on, don't tear them down. I mean, jeeeeeeeeeez!
You could look at my diary and say I eat wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much Chick-fil-a, but WHATEVS. I've still lost nine pounds and I'm only gonna KEEP losing, so YEUHHHHHHH.
Peace, love, and happiness, mon.
i think I can best illustrate why people care if I use extreme examples.
If someone loses 10 lbs, yay...right? What if they did that by cutting off part of their leg? still yay? should they be cheered? I would say that losing weigh by removing body parts is something that would not be supported by most people. Now I know it is extreme but there are things out there that people do for weight loss that could - listen carefully, because this is important - that could cost someone their life. Are there too many petty arguments here and there about trivial things? Probably. But I always like to read them to get more information. Information is good and helpful.
I think most people only care that people are a) being responsible and healthy in their efforts and b) not harming themselves and/or promoting something dangerous to others.
So, I think that's why people care and refuse to blindly cheer someone on when they could be doing serious, long-term damage to themselves.0 -

Well, then, maybe I should have been more specific. In my mind, I was thinking about a previous post where people were fighting over whether calories in vs. calories out was more or less effective than Paleo. I'm not saying that people shouldn't care when others are starving themselves or cutting off their leg to lose weight. I'm just saying that if they're doing it healthily and the pounds are coming off, then there's no reason to argue over what's more effective because, obviously, what that person is doing is working. That is all.0 -
OP is high as a kite, right? Has to be. For shizzle rizzle.

Specificity would have been appreciated in this case. I am sure you will find that, by and large, people in general don't care as long as someone is being healthy in their approach. But that isn't to say that there won't be people here and there who love to argue about every little thing. That's going to happen when you have a community this large.
I find it helpful when you see annoying arguments like that occur to think about the hundreds of people who aren't posting at all about it and who are contributing nothing to the argument, because it is they who are the vast majority not caring about it. And that's exactly what you are wanting.0 -
I keep hoping I'll come back in here and see someone translate this, just for the luls.0

My suggestion: keep your diary private. there are a lot of peeps that will berate you for your food choices, if you miss a workout, what your pic looks like etc. For some, this can be motivation- but it's clear that a lot of them do so with the "I'm better than you" intent and are doing it just to be mean. I agree with you. Who gives a shazbot what I eat or how I work out. Different strokes for different folks. While you're young, enjoy the fact that you can eat Chik-fil-A and still lose weight- as you get older, it gets harder so enjoy it while you can.0 -

You're not alone. If it makes you feel any better, I immediately went to Facebook and shared that joke with my sister. :laugh:0 -
I only posted this because I was reading another post about how calories in vs. calories out doesn't matter as much as WHAT you eat and people were actually ARGUING about it. And I say, who gives a dizamn? 'Cause the goal is essentially the same, and whatever works, WORKS. Keep doing that.
OP I completely agree with your argument about arguing. On the other hand, I've never had chick O whatevers but you really should eat less of that and more organic kale with an apple balsamic vinegarette. The vinegar actually acts like an acidic fat burner, so the more you add the more the fat melts off. And cancer. And raspberry keytones. :flowerforyou:
You're welcome:)

Only thing that bothers me is when people eat too little..
If I actually give a crap about them, I say something because it just doesn't end well most of the time in the long run.0 -

Nothing wrong with different perspectives ...
... but it's nice to at least try to stop people from spreading blatant misinformation that will hinder newbies from reaching their goals.
