Since I'm on the higher end, I'd go maybe 60, but I prefer 30-50.

I think anyone older than my dad would be too old. Although I am the same age as Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas is about my dad's age and that doesn't seem creepy. On the other hand when a woman about my age married Tony Randall (who was born the same year as my grandfather) that was a bit icky to me.

I've never dated a guy younger than me, and the oldest boyfriend I have had was when I was 18 and he was 38/39. On average, the boyfriends I have had are 5-8 years older than me. Most of my friends are that much older than me too. I would have to top it off if you were the same age my father. Sorry. That could get creepy and not just for me, but my dad.

Crap I meant to say university, not college (UK).
I wasn't aware there were any rules about professor student relationships cause legally I'm an adult? I'd never go with my professor to make my grades better though, I'd much rather work hard and earn it myself.

As for the professor, he doesn't seem like a creep, honestly. I've met old guys who hit on me and obviously just want to have sex, but he really isn't like that. He's really polite and gives a lot of compliments and although he has expressed his feelings for me i don't feel forced into it and he'd never do anying I didnt want I dont think. I admit I do kind of like him. Sorry guys, I just hope I didn't make him sound bad!

College/University: same thing pretty much in the US. Most schools have strict rules about teachers dating students. It's pretty unethical, because when grading and authority are considered. one is an inferior and the other is a superior. That's why. Sorta like officers and enlisted, but not quite.

In my understanding, the professors in the UK aren't as much superiors as ones here. Am I right?

Married to a guy 5.5 years my senior (our picture from 5 yrs ago is on my profile pix list), if I were looking -it would be 30-60 (but only if the 60 yr old was pretty fit, liked to dance for hours - not ballroom lol - and had a positive life view). FWIW my 75 yr old aunt is married (2nd marriage) 25 yrs now to a man almost 20 yrs younger. She is one hot spry mama tho.

    spelling edit

I'm 41, oldest I would date would be probably 49 but I generally like younger women. Youngest I would date would be 25 though just because of maturity. Realistically, I'd say 30 - 40 would be more likely.

My university chemistry prof hit on me pretty hard, back in the day. I liked him, but I had a boyfriend so I didn't even consider going out with him. I was incredibly flattered though. The school dismissed him for inappropriate conduct within a few months. Apparently he had hit on others who were less gullible than I. I had actually believed that I was an exception, unusually smart, mature, whatever. I was just a skirt. Be careful.

I'd have to say even some 100yr olds are
in tip top condition .. on mfp.

If I were on the market, I'd probably
need a younger one, since I'm so very
    old.

GoldThisTime - I love your response.

But to the original poster, I also love my men older. My last serious relationship was with a man 52-54 when I was 26-28. BUT, I was 26, employed, living on my own.... settled. AND he was not my professor., so it was more of a mutual adult relationship. (Although, I will admit that it ended due to age - he wanted to get married, and while 28 is not by any means too young to get married, I was not willing to move to the suburbs with him and leave my "oh-so-cool" working city girl in NYC lifestyle.)

I think the issue is that is jarring is that he is your professor. I would think this is inappropriate even if he was significantly younger than 50.

I'm almost 41. I don't think I'd go older than late 40's, but then again I'm married so I don't need to worry about it.

I am 31- if I were not married- I would say my dating range would be 28-45. I tend to be attracted to older men in general, although my husband is only a year older than me.

48, if he was in really good shape and health. I'm 28.

When i was seventeen I had a thing with my 25 year old dentist. I'm 21 now and if the situation is right, id go as old as 30. It sucks that girls don't date younger guys, honestly it is so hard to afford most college girls, especially when your in college yourself. I wouldn't want a girl who pays for everything,. that would make me feel non-masculine. but someone who can get by without there parents and someone who drives to. what do you GIRLS think about this, would you go younger? or is older a must?

Oh great... I meant no older then 30, profile still says 29.. so i am safe! it seems like I can't open my mouth without insulting someone... or even touch a key board. I should just learn not to socialize.
