I swear I really struggle to stay on task this time of the year. I never want to exercise and always want to snack which does not make for a good combination. In addition to this laziness I feel my arthritis in my lower back and right knee has flared up and really bothering me today. I procrastinated all morning with today's workout but finally got it done.

Today I completed the Cardio Mix and Melt dvd from the Melt It Off series.

Congrats on overcoming and getting the exercise done!

:flowerforyou: today is the day I get to start being creative about exercising in the house......it has been snowing since 7:30 AM with a lot of blowing wind so except for walking the dogs first thing this morning, I haven't been outside.......my wonderful husband has been taking the dogs out     ---the exercise bike and walking and dancing with various videos has been keeping me active......the poor dogs wanted to go to the dog park but there's no way we can drive there:cry: .....we live on a private road that doesn't get cleared by the city and our house is on a hill which makes driving even less likely....and, of course, being in the house so much makes me want to snack....fortunately we don't have any really bad food but even too many apples with peanut butter can be too much

Weighing in... down 1.3 lbs. :) Good thing too because we went to Olive Garden for lunch, hehe. But that was after walking around Ikea for 2 hours. Hope everyone is well!

    Way to go! Congratulations!

    We love the Olive Garden.

Just popping in to tell all of you that we now have another cat. Those who have been here for a while might remember how happy I was that my friend that lost her home got rid of her pets without us having to take them all in. My son rescued a stray cat from getting killed by a group of kids at the high school. He (my son) ended up in ISS for fighting, and the cat was seen by the school nurse and fed by the school cafeteria. The next day kids were trying to run the cat over with a car and my husband and son intervened. The cat came home that time and is very happy to not be outside any more.

I am very proud of my son for standing up for an innocent animal at his own personal risk. I am amazed my cat hating husband let the cat in the truck.

Its so sad what people will do to animals. I'm glad they rescued the poor kitty. We adopted a dog from our local shelter... my shelter got him from a shelter in Indiana and his past is unknown. The poor guy is terrified around everyone and the slightest noise can send him running. We think he was abused, and he's more scared of guys (especially tall guys) than he is of females. It took him about a year to get used to my (tall) husband! He's my velcro dog and is such a sweetheart. It breaks my heart that people are so mean to animals.

Good afternoon everyone! My arthritis continues to bother my lower back and right knee so I will be taking it easy this week. Today I completed the Burn It Off dvd from the Chalean Extreme program.

I am not an animal lover at all but can't imagine ever hurting them. I'm glad your son acted so self-less and stuck up for the defenseless animal.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: It got sunny and almost above freezing by midday so Jake could shovel the driveway and put out the garbage can. Our roads got cleared and the garbage man was able to drive in even on our hill.....later, I braved the roads and took the dogs to the dog park where they ran in the snow and barked at birds for 30 minutes, now it's getting colder again and I'm glad to be indoors.

 I put on a video of a musical and walked (like with Leslie Sansone) during the dialogue and danced to the musical parts.....what a fun workout.....I watched the whole movie in 20 minute exercise segments over a few days.

:flowerforyou: I've been riding the exercise bike and watching "Skating With the Stars"

  JAM your husband and son are true heroes......enjoy your new pet emoticon-animal-011.gif

What is wrong with people? I just cannot understand the mind that thinks mistreating animals like this is acceptable. Kudos to you for taking in the poor kitty.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: My Wednesday line dance teacher is in Florida for Thanksgiving so there was no class today so I cleared an area in the entrance way of the house where we have wood floors and had my own line dance class....first I danced some dances that I know without any review, then I taught myself a dance, then reviewed one from the regular class.......later I took the dogs to play in the snow at the off leash dog park...in between I rode the exercise bike and watched "Skating With the Stars"....i am so grateful for my DVR so I can watch something good whenever I want to.

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the concern about the new kitty. Things are going OK with him fitting in. I don't understand people either and I don't understand the school for treating it more seriously.

I've upped my daily time on the bike to 45 minutes. It seems to take forever to get that last 15 minutes over with. I'm doing OK with my calories. Thank goodness for the exercise calories.

Tomorrow I am going to do 1 hour on the bike to help cover the Turkey dinner and I got batteries for the Wii Balance board so I can start doing yoga for stretching again.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the USA.

:flowerforyou: JAM, I can't ride the exercise bike for more than 20-25 minutes at a time so I ride in two or three segments

Happy Thanksgiving my MFP pals. Today has been a great day. It began with me completing the Fat Blaster dvd from the Turbo Jam series and then eating a nice hardy bowl of oatmeal with a banana. I then got dressed and headed to the volunteer program. I was assigned to the clothing center which is set up like a little department store and I was responsible for escorting clients in and helping them select items of clothing. I also assisted with folding and hanging up clothes. Everyone was in great spirits and I am so glad I decided to spend my Thanksgiving day giving back. It was very rewarding.

Babygurl: MFP is a great place to come for support. Everyone is super duper helpful and supportive. You've done a great job thus far so just know you are more than capable of taking off the last 18 lbs.

Good evening! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and are still enjoying the fun and laughter with loved ones. Today I completed the Cardio-week 5 dvd from the Kettleworx series.

Thank for the support Barbie and Jam. It was a great way to spend my holiday and I'm trying to sign up for Christmas too.
