Five guys....ffffffffff

Hahaha! I've tried their food once and it was way too greasy for my stomach to handle. Never eaten there again, but it seems like everyone else LOVES it. Guess I'm lucky that the temptation just isn't there.

Not all that impressed.0 -
We don't cope... we're mostly overweight.
^This - It is hard to avoid, because fast food is everywhere and our busy lifestyles often make it seem like the only choice. It takes a great deal of planning and preparing ahead to make sure you can feed your family-on-the-go a good healthy meal. It only takes a couple of minutes to run through a fast food drive-thru.0 -
We only eat at 5 guys very rarely because they're all an hour away one way but it's worth it as a treat.0
-
I've actually never been to Five Guys. I prefer to eat at home or a at a nice restaurant.0
-
Five guys... meh. They are just average to me. Now Smashburger.... that I can get behind.0
-
I've never heard of it! I take it it's named because it makes you the size of five guys?0
-
Honestly I was never impressed by them. Yeah their burgers are good, and you can order it almost any way you want for no extra charge. My problem is their price. For that much money you could get better food in more quantities. And the biggest thing is I hate their fries. Well, that style of fries as a whole. So maybe that's not their fault. Oh well. To each their own :happy:0

I really think, this is the best burger place in the U.S. but just because it tastes good, does not mean, I am forced to eat there a lot.0

We have a much cheaper and way tastier (and even slightly healthier) chain called Cook Out. It blows Five Guys out of the water. Plus you can get 4 different sizes in burgers, and the fries are reasonable portions, not the giant bucket you get from Five Guys. And they have excellent grilled chicken as well.0

I miss In N Out.
that's what she said0 -

Cook Out is cheaper...but the food is tiny. It takes three of their meals to equal one little cheeseburger and small fries from Five Guys. Five Guys is da bomb.0 -

I concur!0 -
We have 2 near us, both about 15 minutes in either direction. I really don't think they are that great.
I tired the "Cajun Fries" but found them to be too spicy.
I also highly agree with the calorie information other people have posted. it's just not worth it.
So give it a try, say you went, and never look back
PS: I went to an In N Out in Tucson with my brother and sister in law. I didn't like that place very much either. Not enough options.0 -

Oh yes! Smashburger rocks! I haven't been to one since we moved three years ago, and I miss it so much!0 -

It's not even that hard. There is one less than a half of a mile from my work- and I have eaten there once since I started here- almost a year ago. And I go out to eat at least once a week to eat lunch.
You need to make a choice about where you're eating. plain and simple.
I like a good burger- 5 guys is okay. I prefer In and out- but I mean I'm not really all that picky- even dive bar burgers taste good to me. As long as there as at least 1/2 pound of meat and fresh tomatoes/lettuce/onion I'm good. I only have a burger once every 4-5 months- so they pretty much all taste good to me LOL
Anyone tried Elevation Burger? I hear good things about them.
Same with Burger 21- new chain in our area- also serve beer- it's right next to the brazillian steak house- so when we drive down there- we never go for burgers- but I hear they are tastey LOL0 -
I miss In & Out too, insert eyebrow waggle here. I used to live on the West Coast and we don't have them here in NY.
Just wanted to mention in passing that 5G now makes shakes. With the option of adding bacon. I mean seriously, if there wasn't enough to love already...0 -

In & Out vs 5 Guys debate has finally showed up in a fitness forum after being over done on yelp on other food related sites.
If you like one more than other, more power to you, but to constantly put the other down is pointless, though when 5 Guys came to my neighborhood, I wasn't impressed but that could be due to the hype. The animosity some people have towards the one they don't prefer is cartoonishly stupid.
I think I would rather go to 5 Guys for the peanuts, but for burger taste, In/Out gets my vote because they use Harris Ranch beef.
My In/Out order: Cheeseburger: protein style, light spread, whole grilled onion, extra pickles, extra tomatoes, no salt.0 -

No.
Is there even a burger in that picture? I just see a lot of gooey toppings on a bun. :huh:0 -
How do you Americans cope?

My husband loves their burgers. I can't ever justify spending the 700 calories (minimum) for a burger there so I just split a little fry with him or take half of them home and have them the next day. It keeps my calorie count under 300. I could live off fries though.0

We don't have In n Out here, but we do have Mooyah, Jake's WayBack and a number of great local burger places.
I'm afraid I'll be disappointed when I ever get to try In n Out.0 -
Used to be one of my frequent meals before I decided being fat sucked. Two double cheeseburgers, half their largest order of fries, and a liter of soda to wash it down.
A couple times when I was on low carb, I craved the grease so much I ate their cheeseburgers with no bun. An expensive treat, but it tasted about five thousand times better than my homemade ground beef.0 -

I had 5 Guys just yesterday. Burger no bun, grilled mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and jalapenos. Yum. I don't like fries so they do not tempt me.0

The spicy fries are the best part. Dipped in ketchup ( I hate ketchup).0 -

I only like those skinny crispy fries from Steak 'n Shake. Now that's a place I have to stay away from because there's the domino effect--if I get a burger I want fries and if I get fries I want a shake and then it's all over.0
