I've been on MFP for years, just on different accounts. Every time I go on a post, I always see that one mean person. You can't even ask a question on here without someone telling you how you feel or telling you about your own life.

I don't need a counselor, telling me what I should do with my life; I already have one.

So why is everyone so mean? Or trying to tell ME how I feel??!

Please don't be rude on this post, I am just looking for NICE people.

I don't need a "congrats" everyday, just want to see other people and how their doing with their progress :)

18 years old, going to college in Fall

    You start by saying there's one mean poster in every thread and then end by suggesting that everyone here is mean. I would like to nicely suggest that painting everyone on these boards with the same brush isn't very nice.

    what constitutes being mean? i've been on here for a couple of years and have a **** pile of nice friends...i've only encountered a small handful of people who are actually "mean"

    Agreed. Too many people here wanting to shove people down. Its not necessarily being mean, but there sure are people here who "know it all" instead of just offering friendly advice.

    I have seen mean people here, but they usually get smacked down and booted pretty quickly by the mods.

    I have to admit, I am amused by the irony of someone who openly admits to having misrepresented herself on this site for years lecturing the community at large on proper behavior.

    LOL ** TELL ME ABOUT IT:) Just got back on here and there seem to be quite a few haters since a few years ago. It was my understanding that we're all in this together but then you've got your "Know it alls" and former "heavy weights turned light weights" and now discriminate against being overweight. (Clearly the weight loss did not help (ALL) of their issues.

    Hang in there, girl:) There are quite a few cool people that are straight up:))

    I don't think there are very many people that go out of their way to be mean. On the other hand if you suggesting or promoting a diet that is unhealthy people will certainly be quick to point this out. Some people are just a bit blunt about it.

    Often people who are seen as mean are really just honest. Some people have their feelings hurt too easily as well. Its the internet, what do you honestly expect??
