    If it has whiskers, don't touch them. If you touch them and get stung, you've found a catfish.

    pro-tip: if you want to put spots on a catfish, try using a permanent marker or paint.

    Edit: I also find any catfishing intended to deceive based on issues that impact real people to be heinous.
