Aerosmith about 1980 at Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands. So bad people were throwing food at the stage to get them to stop playing. Steven Tyler's response "thanks for throwing us such a great lunch".

My worst was a free Nickelback concert. It was free because they suck.

Eugh Nickelback are really the worst

no, NIckelback is still better than 99% of what is played on top 40 radio and 100% of hip hop.

You say that, but go see them in concert and watch that guy try to bang his microphone.

id rather see that than Drake, Kanye, Miley etc.

    Yeah fair enough...

But there is a lot of amazing hip hop out there

amazing hip hop is an oxymoron.

    This guy gets it.

Crappy rock is better than the best hip hop.

I have seen garage bands put on a better show than "insert hip hop star here".

if only hip hop and rap could crawl back into the hole is came from.

No no no no no. I love all sorts of music, punk / hardcore / drum and bass / electro - I'm not some hip hop soulja, but honestly if you go away from the main stream there is a lot of good shizz out there. Saying you don't like hip hop is like saying you don't like any music with guitars in, if you can listen to Souls of Mischief 93 till infinity on a summers day without it making you go a bit wibbly you have no soul.

As a kid, I lived near Branson and therefore was subjected to many country, bluegrass, and Christian concerts that all made me (a big Madonna/Cyndi Lauper fan at seven and later, a goth/punk teen) want to DIE. Of those, the worst was probably a group called "The Whites" performing at Silver Dollar City in the boiling sun sitting next to Ricky Skaggs -- who was married to one of the women onstage, causing my mom to fuss about how whiny and angry I was about being there and not on a roller coaster 100 ft away.

But as for actual concerts that I chose (and paid) to attend...all of 'em were pretty good, honestly. Ministry at Lollapalooza didn't impress me much though (and I was a fan).

    Steve Winwood.

I truly wanted to shoot myself.

And being from Canada, this is almost sacrilegious but, The Tragically Hip when they had been touring in support of their album Trouble in the Hen House. Complaint rock. It's a genre I think.

REM, Monster tour, World Music Theatre, 1995. I was a huge fan and way excited to finally see them live....

Except they sucked. It was like they were just going through the motions. Major disappointment.

Taylor Hicks three weeks ago at a casino in WA state. Paid $40 and got exactly 40 minutes of him on stage. Totally disconnected and unenthused...

Finch in 2004 or 2005. I'd seen them once before, and they were great. I took my sister to see them when she moved in with me, and they were awful. They sounded like they were playing drunk, the singer sounded like he had the microphone in his mouth, and there were pauses like he forgot some of the lyrics to the songs. Totally disappointing.

In high school a boyfriend took me to see "Thin Lizzy" and "Blue Oyster Cult". Awful awful awful. I am and have always been into country.

Ummmmm, I'd give someone else's left nut go see Blue Oyster Cult in concert.

My worst was a free Nickelback concert. It was free because they suck.

The second worst was Duran Duran, after Simon LeBon got old and out of shape but still ran around on stage with no shirt on.

I used to say "why does everyone hate nickelback?" And, you know, I was listening to one of the radio hits they had from the 2000's and I was like, "You know, the lyrics are pretty sophmoric and meat-headish." But I still like the half-dozen songs I like from NB.

Seeing the "best concert" thread, it seems only fitting that we have a worst one too.

    For Me:

January 19th, 1986. Loverboy w/ The Hooters. First off, I wasn't (still aren't) a fan of either band, I went because the girl I was trying to have 'relations' with was into them. Second, it was a Sunday night on a weekend that I had Army National Guard drill, and I was working on less than 4 hours of sleep....actually fell asleep in the stands. Third, and final strike, I didn't get laid.

Wow, who is "into" Loverboy? They only had like one good song. That's funny...(said the gal who likes Survivor and Foreigner...haha)
Um, I am actually really into Loverboy. They're Canadian and some of their songs are epic and nostalgic for us Canadians. Ouch :brokenheart: *crickets*

Sorry, I love Canadians. I take it back. I love "Working for the weekend," but I have to admit, I've never heard anything else, that I know of. Peace, eh? :flowerforyou:

The absolute worst concert I was ever at was Rod Stewart at the Canadian National Exhibition back in the 80s. It wasnt loud enough and the sound bounced around the outdoor stadium. Baaaaad show...

An endless Brahms chamber music concert in Munich a professor assigned to us and it had so many encores I thought I would run screaming out of the place but the professor was there with us and we couldn't escape.

Bryan Adams circa 1985. Here's the thing.... you don't realize it until you've seen him in concert, but all except maybe 2 of his songs have exactly the same melody. He just sort of changes the words a little bit. I swear to god it felt like I saw three 40 minute songs broken up by three regular length songs.

    Tragically Hip.

Not because they were bad, it was because it was at a first rate concert hall yet all the drunken stonies jumped up and blocked the view for everyone behind them. Ruined the whole show.

    Drivin and Cryin.

They were playing a festival we were at, and they sounded good on the radio, so we stayed to see them. Big mistake, they were awful.

Candlebox with Our Lady Peace and Sponge. Candlebox was the headliner but OLP and Sponge stole the show. Candlebox showed up late, sucked wind, and didn't even play Far Behind.

I had the unfortunate experience to go to three big name concerts in the late 80's at Oakland Coliseum. What was totally bad is all three had the same opening act: OMD (Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark), ugh they were awful. Lead singer flapping his arms like a chicken. This was before they started making hits like Forever Live and Die.
