    I watched the trailer and I think the guy they chose for Christian is awful. He does not come off as controlling and domineering. He just felt kind of pathetic. Not how I pictured Christian at all. I'm okay with Ana. She at least seems to be in tune with her character.

    I didn't read the books but I would have thought Christian would have been cast as a more manly looking dude. Oh well, I'm only going to go see this because my wife will probably make me. Should I fake cancer or a sore tooth to get out of going to see it? Decisions.

    My Inner Goddess is telling me that I'll hate it as much as the book...and I do agree with a lot of people that the casting is completely off.

    I didn't read the books because I prefer my porn to be live action in my boyfriend's king sized bed...but that being said, the dude looks like a puppy dog. He doesn't look at all like the character he's trying to portray.

    I have not read the books. I hear it was fairly vanilla in terms of sex literature- so I kind of really haven't been interested- but I know little of them- and I felt his character appeared very anemic for a lot of reason.

    She seemed pretty good- but yeah- he was a big.fat.meh.

    I felt like his character needed to be completely comitted one way or the other- either bigger/more ripped- more fit (he isn't fit looking at all despite the "workout" scene of him running on the docks all hooded up (seriously- no one runs like that- you'd die from running into texters)

    OR- be a slightly portly fellow- unassuming but powerful but not physically so. He had zero personal zest what so ever.

    I posted about this earlier on my newsfeed earlier today.

    Horrible. Looks boring. Actors are really average-looking, especially the dude. I have no clue who either of those actors even are. I never read the books all the way through because they were so badly written and I honestly hated the characters, especially Anastasia. It's also a huge misrepresentation of the BDSM lifestyle to the point where it sort of pisses me off. If I want to read some good BDSM, I can get it for free online - and it'll be much better quality and WAY more accurate - and preferably with no women involved. :)

    I was actually excited about the trailer just because of the steamy factor, but it was just a huge disappointment. I don't find the guy playing Christian attractive at all, and the girl playing Anastasia looks too old for that role.

    Just...bad, bad, bad.

    The book was so bad (I barely read it. I flipped through looking for the "wild and hot sex scenes" and didn't find anything remotely shocking). So I am guessing the movie will be really, really vanilla and lame as well.

    I will say though that the author had one heck of a marketing agent and I can only hope to have someone like that working for me when I get my book published.
