I read the book because all of my friends had read it and they were really positive towards it. My god. It was the worst book I have ever read! The main person was dull and boring and the plot.. what was it again? I am not going to watch the movie. In my experience the movies are worse than the books, and I will not do that to myself:p

I didn't read the books because I prefer my porn to be live action in my boyfriend's king sized bed...but that being said, the dude looks like a puppy dog. He doesn't look at all like the character he's trying to portray.

You obviously haven't been introduced to German porn.

I have, and I have zero interest in stomping on my bf's testicles with stilettos because I refuse to wear heels higher than 2 inches.

Also, I prefer to keep waste products in the toilet where they belong.

    But to each his own...

Oh yeah, I have a better movie for you if you like the premise but hate the books. The Secretary. Way before these books ever came out there was a crazy sub/dom movie featuring James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. You are welcome.

I just hope who they picked lives up to the role and does justice. He does not look like a dominating man to me.
Agreed. He looks like a loser

the books are twilight for middle age house wives. They did the job. Got all of the wifeys hot and bothered.

I read them all. they weren't great, but just consider the source, it's not like it was meant to be these amazing works of art. Didn't hate them, didn't love them.

I think they did a decent job of casting Ana, but I wish they kept Charlie Hunnam as Christian....oh my word. That would have made a good movie despite the poor books.

I know nothing about BDSM so I didn't see anything wrong about it, sucks to hear it was poorly represented.

I am probably one of the few women that really couldn't give a frak about it... It sounds lame and looks lame...

I am more excited over the new tornado disaster movie than I am 50 shades of blah.

Interesting observation from when I worked at a bookstore and these books came out. The majority of purchases of these books were accompanied with Christian Inspiration books. I just thought that was interesting...

That's because we are all repressed feminine beings... ;)

Never read the books. The movie doesn't look that great either, but I like the new version of Crazy In Love.

Same here, everyone at work was raving mad about it. I ended up borrowing it from my boss (of all people) and when I asked what the plot was I just got blank stares. Didn't even bother with books 2 and 3, the first one was so bad...

I think I need to read the book first before I watch it because adaptations into film usually change things up a bit, with the book being better most of the time. But sound like it will be a great movie from what I've heard people say about the book.

    <writes this down>

you know what semi scandalous movie I kind of enjoyed?
Dangerous Beauty- not really BDSM- but it was certainly an interesting slightly "racey" if I watched this with my mom I'd be uncomfortable movie for it's time. Inspired by a true story I believed.

Let me know when they make the Sleeping Beauty series from Anne Rice into a movie.
