Thinking about a beard

TEAM BEARD!!!!0

Been bearded about 18 years now, I've only shaved it off twice in that time & immediately grown it back. Beard is always better than no beard. Just maintain it well, everything else is up to you.
Oh, and this happens *all* the time.

You're still young enough it would look good...I grew on for a couple of months, shaved it off a couple of weeks ago.
At 62 it's white...it really really REALLY made me not only look old but it made me feel old. I am soo glad it's gone I
didn't look like Woodkid for sure!!! It's too bad you can't just 'get' a beard down to your naval over nite, growing it is
so tedious and caring for it is time consuming.....I also hated the feel of it when I shampooed it in the shower...don't
know why....anyway you should try it out...have fun!!!0 -
Yes to beards. Trimmed and groomed anywhere from scruffy to full, but not the shaggy marooned on an island look.0

...to add to that...on the right guy they look good....like the guys pictured above....thought I should mention that !! cheers !!! :drinker:0

Although, as great as it is to have a beard, please keep this study in mind:

My husband has a glorious, thick luxurious beard. It is seasonal so I get the best of all worlds. Its thick and full in winter, he goes mutton chops in fall clean face for a few weeks each spring and various stages of sexiness throughout the summer. He is a blonde so his beard is a million shades of blonde brown red auburn and yes a few grey, although on him they just look super blonde.
I love everything about his beard, except that he doesn't really like me fiddling with it...... With my hands0 -
Yes...always yes0

NO. I'm pretty sure that 99.999999% of women have been walking around with boobs for a long time and at no point did anyone decide they were no longer attracted to boobs because peak tit.0 -
My dad has a beard that could rival those found in ZZ Top. My mom loves it. Of course, me seeing beards like that makes me think of my dad...
My husband has a very short, neatly trimmed beard, and I like it a lot. It makes him look a little older (especially because he's starting to get a few grays in there). Which is good, for me for purely selfish reasons... He's older than I am, he should not look younger than I am. He's got such a young face.
In general I like beards, and if you can grow one... I say go for it.0 -

I have hardcore beard envy and would rock a full Ned Kelly if not for the inconvenient lack of a Y chromosome.
I must say though, I feel as a fashion trend it has reached critical mass. Unfortunately the look is now being sullied by men who either A) lack any sense of style, or see it as a convenient way to avoid grooming.
These are the guys who end up bypassing 'sexy' and head straight to 'captive in the basement'. Avoid this look.0 -

Who has them, how do you like them, how do you women like them, do you wish you could grow one, do you think I should grow one?
If you are worried about how your family will react to your news then sure why not.......Otherwise....why not just tell them the truth.0 -

This is the joke I was going to make. I feel as though I would beat you to the punch if I had COFFEE. But no, I am out and now Jac is making my jokes.0 -

I think that you should perform a study to prove your hypothesis. I imagine you'll want focus groups and demonstrations to be a part of your experiment design. The Independent? Blatant scaremongering from threatened elitist hipsters!
