Do you get offended and hurt when .................

Nope, don't get offended.
And I delete people who are very obviously harming their bodies with VLCD that's NOT doctor-supervised (I ask) and who brag about burning more than they eat and/or starving themselves. I don't have time for that and considering I was borderline anorexic at one point, frankly, it's triggering.0 -
It depends. If it's someone I really know and with whom I regularly interact then yeah. If it's someone to whom I don't really talk or with whom I have nothing in common then no.
The real question is why all these threads? You seem to be way more interested in how people feel about rejection than you are in diet/fitness, based on your posting history.
^Agreed. I think if you are losing friends (or unable to get new ones), you might want to rethink what you are doing to possibly cause this (like these threads). Just putting the thought out there.0 -
When it is someone I genuinely like, I'm usually shocked and saddened, but understand that they have their reasons.0
-
Not offended - everyone has their reasons and if they don't want to hang with the cool kids, that's their problem
0 -
yes. I cry every single time. Kidding, unless the person and I formed a bond, it happens.0
-
...and the real questions is - why are you even checking? I don't remember getting pop-ups that tell me when a friend dropped me... and honestly, have never checked0

With election season right around the corner... there will probably be plenty of deletions on here and FB.
The most common reason for deletes on FB is political shares.
I have to admit, they are annoying.
Unless I agree with them.
If I disagree, they are just making them selves seem so ignorant.0 -

I really only delete people who haven't signed in for 30 days or more. I'd also delete people if they're blatantly offensive, but I haven't had that come up
Same here 30 days and they're gone.
I also delete for stupid cardio logging "SoAndSo burned 659 calories doing 45 minutes of cleaning or food preparation". Bwahahahaha! Gone!0 -

Honestly I don't even notice, so no . I'm not going to be everyone's flavor, and I'm okay with that.
I delete people when they are constantly negative, or inactive.0 -
No. Honestly, I probably wouldn't even notice...0
-
So far I've only deleted one person, and that was just because of the unrelenting self-pity and self-loathing he was filling my feed with every day combined with his complete lack of willingness to actually take a positive step to actually do something about it. The non-stop negativity was just too much.0

It's happened a couple times where I didn't understand why and it hurt a tiny bit, but mostly no.
I tend to only delete if the person never logs in, or if there's a lot of drama around their posts.0 -
Nope... Life is too short to allow a stranger to affect my emotions...and by stranger I mean ANYONE I INTERACT WITH ON THE INTERNET and have not touched physically... IF I can't or haven't touched do they even exist???
I agree.0 -
Someone I really liked unfriended me. I shouldn't care, but I do. *takes swig from mysterious flask*0
-
Don't notice, don't care. I have way too many other issues going on to be worried about someone deleted me off mfp. lol0

...Oh.0 -
i delete people when:
1. I'm drunk
2. They are inactive for ever
3. They never comment back
4. They support clean eating0 -

That's what the hide button is for... but I only use that if the person is being really annoying.. and then I unhide after the political season.0 -

I agree.
What about people you know in real life but haven't touched-- are they real? Wait, how do you know the people you HAVE touched are real? Turtles all the way down . . .

Nope! Don't notice, don't care. While I'm happy for my MFPals when they make their accomplishments and enjoy some of their posts, and will get further involved if specific help is requested, I don't invest a whole lot of time and emotion into them. I've got plenty of other things to worry about in my real life.
Then again I'm older and my life doesn't revolve around social media.0 -

And I use it a lot.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well.
I guess people tag me in stuff, or my friends start commenting on a mutual friends meme, or a mutual friend gets tagged in a meme and it still pops up.
Oh well.
I'm a big girl who can give a meme a healthy eye roll and move along.0 -

It depends, sometimes I don't notice but recently someone deleted me and the only reason why I noticed was the person was quite active and I didn't see their post anymore so I looked them up and sure enough they removed me. It did hurt a bit as I see the person all the time on the message bords but oh well.
I delete people that they have a blank profile pic with no pics and when they are inactive and never comment on my wall post.I also reject friend request when the person seems sketchy0
