a very very slow two miles today- really feeling the pain in my legs. I think I've run further in this challenge this month than I have for the whole of the year. determined to complete my goal, and hopefully better it next month.
@hayleymawr- You're progress toward your goal is phenomenal! 50 miles in 1 month is a HUGE milestone, especially if you haven't run 50 total miles in the rest of this year. If your legs are aching and you're certain its not an injury a day or 2 of rest might help. Those very slow miles are making your legs stronger every time you run, but you need time to heal if you don't want to end up on the disabled list. You're more than half way to your goal- slow and steady will get you to 50!:flowerforyou: Keep up the great work; I'm cheerin' for ya'!

    9/1/2014 Monday 04.92 miles 00:47:15
    9/3/2014 Wednesday 11.00 miles 01:58:20
    9/6/2014 Saturday 09.29 miles 01:45:11
    9/9/2014 Tuesday 03.22 miles 00:31:32
    9/10/2014 Wednesday 05.13 miles 00:50:56
    9/13/2014 Saturday 13.10 miles 02:30:45
    9/16/2014 Tuesday 03.00 miles 00:36:00
    9/17/2014 Wednesday 05.86 miles 01:06:39

Total So Far 52.52, a little more than half way. It looks like it will be close; can I make it to 100 miles? Conservative estimates based on what I have that passes for a training schedule say maybe, leaning towards about 13 miles short, but that also depends on how I feel, and how often I do things, such as farting around on MFP, when I should be in bed! I have a 5K coming up on the 28th so I was going to do shorter runs and give myself two days off before the race. I want to go all out, well, all out for me, and finish in 25 minutes or less.

JUST A REMINDER SINCE WE ARE VERY CLOSE!

Folks, we are on the 20th page of this thread. After we reach a total of 500 comments (the 25th comment on this 20'th page), the topic will roll over to a new thread. You will no longer be able to make comments on this thread. However, at the bottom of this page (once we hit 500), there will be 2 links that says " continued at this topic" and "last part of this topic is here". If you see these 2 links, click the "continued at this topic" link. "this topic" will be blue. From there you will be able to continue logging.

If you get lost, go to the group page at: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/21182-monthly-running-challange
And I will try and make sure I add the link to the rolled over topic. The rolled over topic will be called, "September Running Challenge (Part 2)" .

Everyone is doing great. Many of you are doing something like this for the very first time and are doing great things. Keep up the great work, everyone.

I am so excited this morning! After being so down and out of it yesterday (5! inactivity alerts on my monitor!) I ended up taking the pup out for 'just a nice walk' since it was still warm out. Once we got out though I realized it was lovely out and we just kept going and mixed in a some running. I went out on the trail and we ended up going 5 miles! This morning I got up early again and went out for a run before my first meeting! I really feel great and am so happy I was able to do Tues run, Wed run/walk and Thurs run with no foot issues! I am actually optimistic now about being able to finish the half marathon in October!! Tonight - strength training!

I don't comment much (I guess I'm just a natural lurker...though that sounds creepy ;P), but I wanted to send out general congratulations to all of you.
~For all the beginning runners trying to figure this crud out
~to those of you pushing for more miles/better times/greater frequency
~to those of you who are competing and giving your all
~and to those of you who are nursing injuries and stubbornly refusing to let them ruin your goals.
Every time I read one of your triumphs or even one of your issues/fails, I feel more determined because I know I am not the first person to have these feelings and face these challenges.
Super sappy, I know... but thanks everyone.
    Keep doing what you do!

Thank you for posting this! I can relate to this 100%. Reading these posts makes me feel so inspired and...connected! I don't have any runner friends where I live as I recently moved to the area, so this group has become my new running "family". :blushing:
Great job everyone! Let's finish this week strong one mile at a time! :drinker:
