Mine is also my coffee creamer addiction. I would jump for joy at a new flavor (and I still do!). I am also like you I limit myself to (2) cups of coffee and 3 TBL. of creamer only. I used to drink a pot of coffee/day with at least 1/2 cup of creamer eeeeks. I tried adding almond milk in my coffee and its just not the same..........My other is Red Beers (Coors Light w/clamato juice) I also just limit these to "high strung days" when I want to unwind quick and sleep good!

and the food that i give up that i dearly love is whole milk. I can drink a gallon a day, no problem. shame it's not like water. i'd have no problem getting my 8 glasses a day. I have gone to a non-fat milk that I limit my self to 1 glass a day because of the sugar content in it. when I get to my goal weight i will probably go back to the whole milk but just 1 cup a day.
  • I am not giving up anything. Why should I. I do entitle myself to a cheat day. I just don't go overbaord and do so with moderation. I also make sure that I go to the gym and burn off most, if not all, of the calories.

Instead of giving up my favs, I adjust. Like I don't drink regular sodas anymore... I drink diet....etc.

I do have a regualar soda every once in a while to give me that ahhhh! feeling like a Coca-Cola does...but very little.

Amen! This has certainly worked for me -- I still eat the things I love, jjust a lot less of them. I never feel deprived or hungry, and right now I feel better and look better than I have in YEARS. Once you learn portion control, and then get off your *kitten* and exercise, the weight takes care of itself. Sure I may have to push myself a little extra so that I can have that Five Guys burger once in a while, but I make sure I work off the calories FIRST.

I can't say I gave up anything. I have bonuses. Ice cream one week, candy, Then I dont feel like I'm punishing myself. Most of the time I dont miss any of it. When I started to clean house I thought giving up soda would kill me. Now I drink at least 8-8oz of water a day and haven't once missed soda.

    Have a great fit day!!!
  • I try not to feel like I'm depriving myself of my favorite foods, but I'm learning to try to sub the processed "frankenfoods" I can't live without with real food that I can live with. So for my must-have crunchy snack - almonds or Beanitos. For my driving-home-from-work-but-stuck-in-this-stupid-traffic-jam moments when I used to whip into a fast food joint, I now keep an emergency stash of cut veggies and hummus snack packs in my lunch pack. The one and only food I will not , can not give up - CHOCOLATE:love: - but now I eat the really good stuff, Godiva 70% and find that I don't want to binge on it because it's too good to waste (and too expensive, too!)

Definately bread - I know you shouldn't exclude it from your diet completely but I know I eat too much. :D

Mine is coffee creamer too! I have cut my consumption in half but I have to have my morning coffee! :) I also have 2-3 Starbucks a week. I work them into my calories or exercise calories but I won't give it up! I'd rather quit eating. lol.

Ice cream! but now instead of eating a "bowl" full, which was like 3 cups! I limit it to 1 or 2 scoops and not every night just 1 or 2 after a good workout!

pasta and alcohol. I looooooove pasta, any kind of pasta (fettucine alfredo, mac n cheese, spaghetti w/ meat sauce). I have started buying the whole wheat pasta instead of the regular stuff in order to try and make it a little better. As for the alcohol... I have still had a problem cutting back on that. i only drink on the weekends, but it's still tough to limit myself. :drinker:

I don't give up anything either. I like what I eat. Most people looking at my food blog though would probably consider my answer to this question to be good, dark chocolate. :)

I haven't really "Given anything up" but I have focused on making better choices. I no longer purchase coffee creamer at the store, so if I have some during a special occasion or gathering, it's a treat, but I'm also okay with declining. I no longer puchase potato chips (for myself) or full meals or french fries when we go out (although I was never big on fast food or fries). I try to eat the same as my family, only I eat healthier portions and concentrate on making the entire meal more health friendly. All 5 of us in our family will not be hurt by better meal plans.

My husband LOVES tortilla chips with a shredded cheese sprinkled on top (baked in the oven) with salsa for dipping once a week for a treat. I still do this, only I measure mine out and use minimal amounts of cheese. I've had pizza and a beer. I've had a glass of wine or two. And all those things are ONCE IN A WHILE. Not every day! But I plan for those things and make sure I stay under my calorie and fat allowances.

If I gave things up, I'm afraid I would binge and fail. I tried the restricted things in the past and in college I fought with a horrible anorexia problem (denying myself and then binging and purging) which was a horrible time in my life. I don't want to be tempted to go there again.

Moderation, portion control and healthy choices. That's my motto. :) So far it's working. I'm down 13lbs in 8 weeks. I'm extremely pleased with that and intend to keep this as a lifestyle change!

my cocktails...I have to indulge at least a few times a week. I make up for the empty calories by adding some extra time to my workouts daily.
  • Starbucks bottled Mocha Frappuccino coffee drinks! SO HAPPY they come in "Lite" now!!!!

I guess since I am now watching my sodium I can say anything that comes out the sea that I might like to consume lol I'm a huge seafood lover but the sodium in somethings are just out of this world. On occasions I will have my Alaskan Snow Crab Legs. On those days my body has to take one for the team. I drink my water and I don't have any health issues such as high blood pressure nor am I a prone to have it because it doesn't run in my family. So I'm good with this one.

ONE food? HA! :) I have to include two: cheese and red wine. I save my exercise calories for red wine on some days, that way I am still eating enough food calories and can budget in "empty calories." I have found nibbling on pungent cheese helps me eat less but still feel satisfied (aged cheddars, stilton, parmesan reggiano, etc.).
Ditto! Just add in some crusty French bread for me please!

I would give up anything if it was necessary to do so in order to be fit/lose weight. No food is worth my health. That said, I eat whatever I want....just very sparingly, occasionally and in reasonable portions.

Red wine, beer, mac and cheese, cheese in general, and a good steak. And I REALLY wish it wasn't the case but I love fettucine alfredo...

I agree, I haven't given up anything. If I really want it, I just have to workout harder ahead of time to "earn" it. I even had a Caramel Egg yesterday because they are a weakness of mine. But I still stayed under calories:) Yummy!

Pain au Chocolat. So yummy, I don't buy them regularly, but if I do buy them I WILL find a way to work them into my calories!
  • My vice is coffee, with International Delight creamer. But I limit myself to 1-2 cups a day. I've given up pretty much everything else sugary/salty/fried and don't miss it at all, but I can honestly say I would feel deprived without my coffee!!
  • Beer and Cheese. I'm a big craft beer lover, I write up and rate all my new beers, go to beer festivals, even plan my vacations around visiting breweries and sampling beer. Beer is a hobby of mine that I have no intention of letting go. I've dropped my consumption substantially, from 1-2 a day to 1 every 1-2 weeks.

Also, cheese. Man, I love cheese. Keen's Cheddar, Humboldt Fog, the more exotic and expensive cheeses (go figure, to go with my expensive beer hobby :-(. These 2 go hand-in-hand like peanut butter and jelly. Just love'em. In fact, I've found myself dreaming about these things, lol!

XL DD from Tim Horton's (for you non-Canadians out there, that is an XL coffee "Double-Double" (i.e. two cream, two sugar). 280 calories for one... but it is SO yummy. Only twice a month or so do I indulge but I just can't give it up completely!

There's nothing that I've "given up", I just have them as treats instead of every day foods. Those include pizza, beer, cheese, chocolate, ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and Kraft Dinner. I plan on living on this plan forever so I don't see any reason to hurry to a weight and to forego things that I enjoy to possibly getthere a little bit faster (assuming eating "clean" makes you lose weight faster than strictly calories in vs calories out).
  • I have a BIG list ><
I don't give them up. I sometimes binge on them during weekends, I know I shouldn't but working on that will power to stop!

I find that if I give something up totally, I crave it even more and makes me a little bit paranoid and depressed.
