    Hi!

Just wanted to post on here so I could save the thread for later :). Hope everyone's having a great day!

Ok posting a short note so I can find this later on. I replied to old thread first and figured out I was on the wrong one. Hopefully everyone can find us again. Mexican food sounds great! My favorite food but unfortunately the calories are too high when eating out. It is hard for me to resist the tortilla chips so I'll just cook somthing mexican at home. Making a list of healthy foods and heading to grocery store. My family is going to get healthy right with me because I"m not buying any junk food. Just too much of a temptation for me. Have a super great day everyone:)

Hey everybody, glad you made it..I just wanted to go ahead and make a new thread in case we ran out of space at the other one, I think it goes to only 20 pages....
Yeah, I have to make my own Mexican at home too...I bought some low sodium taco seasoning and am making it with lean ground beef. I bet the calorie and sodium count is outrageous at the Mexican places! Good thing we never go out for Mexican, I love it, but the family not so much, they love my tacos though...weird. I added it up on my food earlier and it doesn't look too bad, that's what we will have for supper!

I had a good day food-wise today until I went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. There's not really a good way to eat out, and I'm still figuring that out. I'm going to try to be better tomorrow, but my friend is having an Oscar's party, so I'll have to be very careful. I think I'll try to eat dinner before I go over there... she always has a lot of delicious food, so it will be hard. If I had exercised today, it would not be a problem at all, but my back has been hurting, so I'm taking it easy. Oh well... one day is not the end of the world, but I would like to figure out how to keep these days to a minimum.

I love chinese food too. My hubby offered to take me out last night to my fav chinese restaurant but I didn't go knowing I would probably eat too much especially since it's a buffet. Tonight I made a healthy pizza made with whole wheat crust. It was really good. That was my treat for the day:)

    *******Sundays Challenge********

Allright this is the weekend and hopefully you don't have to work tomorrow!!!. I know during the week it's always rush rush rush! Having to eat on the run and grabbing coffee to go. This can be hectic so I say for tomorrow, let's all relax and enjoy a good healthy breakfast. Try to pack in some protein too since this will help with your energy level and get you going for the day. Let's really get our metabolism going by getting a good healthy start:) Have a super great weekend~~

I was running late after Saturday shopping, so I just did 15 minutes of snow sweeping from my driveway to earn a few extra calories and breathe some fresh air.

I did get to Costco and picked up a pair of Ryka Reform toning shoes as my "pampering challenge". I'm wearing them at work tonight and finding them quite comfortable. They remind me a little of the Roots and Earthshoe negative-heel shoes I wore in the '70's. I had tried on Sketchers toning shoes a while ago, but found them uncomfortably tight in the toes. These are snug in the heel and forefoot, and just roomy enough in the toe box.

Also at Costco, I found Fage Greek non-fat yogurt--new since last week. I plan to mix it half and half with my Zoi honey Greek yogurt to downsize some of the sugar calories. I'll let you know what I think after I try it. By itself, the Fage is not too tasty!

    Happy Sunday, ladies!

I have to eat the Fage yogurt with honey. I agree that it's not very tasty on its own. Unfortunately, the non-fat yogurt isn't made with honey... not a huge problem, though, because I just add my own honey to it :).

The Fage non-fat is apparently Costco's first foray into Greek yogurt, since this is the first time I've found it there. Costco is well-known for its limited variety of any one product. I'll probably go with Greek Gods traditional plain next if I can't find Zoi in plain full-fat (not yet available at the store where I get the honey-flavored).

I posted on the other thread, because I didn't read all the way through to see that we "moved."

Had the stomach flu yesterday, so I'm pretty sure I was negative cals for the day, but puking doesn't show up in exercise, so I'm not sure exactly (JK!). Feeling better today, started my morning with PB &J toast to get some proteins and sugars into my system. Stomach still isn't right, but I can eat, so I better log it, if I don't I'm bound to eat 1500 cals in saltines and ginger ale.

Also not workingout this weekend. I think I needed a break, but I'm a little bummed becuase I was just about to hit a 2-week straight stretch of at least 30 mins everyday. Oh well, I certainly couldn't do it while puking.

In case people are not looking back at the old thread, Bragg's Liquid Aminos is a great substitute for salt. You can find it in health food/organic stores. They're apple cider vinegar is killer too, b/c it's got live bacteria it's healthier and tastier and that too has much less salt.

Ha I did today's challenge without realizing it, toast with peanut butter and a cup of tea. Of course, I didn't have a choice in the matter cause that's pretty much all I have in my house. I need to go shopping today and I can get some walking there too while I'm at it. Bonus!

Has anyone else had a hard time staying on track on the weekends? I'm great during the week but every weekend I lose steam and eat something I didn't have to or don't feel like getting out of bed. How do you stay motivated on the weekend?

I think I got a pretty good breakfast in...my breakfast has been about the same everyday since I started, Natures Own 100 calorie roll, egg, cheese, and sometimes meat on it...today was turkey. I love it! No more donuts or convenience foods for me like I used to have. I do love my bacon though...moderation is key.

nikki, it is hard to stay on track on the weekends...since I'm a stay at home mom now I find it easier because the days pretty much seem the same to me BUT when we go out, that is my biggest hurdle. It's so hard to keep up with the calorie count and make good decisions but I find if I plan ahead and suggest a place where I know there is bound to be something decent and healthy on the menu then I do better. It's ok to have a cheat day sometimes as long as we don't go buck wild, lol, and then get right back on track. If you feel deprived all the time then you will give up. That has always happened to me in the past. On this new way of eating I almost never feel deprived...sure there are days where I just want to sit around and eat reeses cups but then I think about the summer and looking good and where I want to be and then I change my train of thought.

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and is eating a good breakfast! It's meatloaf again here today for lunch and supper, I love that Cooking Light recipe and so does the family which is a big plus!

Hope you get to feeling better soon Olivia. I'm sure you don't feel like doing anything. Maybe it's just a 24 hr bug:) I enjoyed my breakfast especially since my husband cooked it. He fixed bacon, sasuage, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. I didn't eat the biscuits and gravy and instead had a 1/2 of a 100% whole wheat flat bread with my eggs and 1 piece of bacon. Amazing how much more energy you have eating a good breakfast!
Has anyone tried out the Leslie Sansone's Walk at home weight loss BootCamp? I bought it last night and going to try it today. My scale isn't moving this week but down in some inches which is progress! Good luck everyone on tomorrows weigh in:)

I ate the same breakfast this morning that I eat most mornings. I had a whole wheat English muffin with almond butter, and 0% fat Fage Greek yogurt with a little bit of honey. I've found that since I've been eating a good breakfast, I usually feel much better during the day, especially through the morning. A big part of it for me is just taking enough time to eat breakfast at home instead of grabbing something quick on the run, or something unhealthy once I get to work.

I'm exactly the same way ceejay during the week....it's just so hectic. I get up early and seems I don't have enough time to eat breakfast at home. Never tried almond butter, that sounds delicious. I have so much more energy too when I take the time to have a sit down meal instead of just rushing to get something in. It's a rainy sleepy day here in Kentucky. I need to get motivated. Been cleaning all day. I think I should have exercised first!

Dreading tomorrow's weigh in, ive been pretty good all week up until yesterday & today. Yesterday I went out so went WAY over my calories due to drinking far too much vodka! Although I done a bit of dancing so must hav burnt some of them off!
Fingers crossed I have actually lost something this week!

I tried out the non-fat Fage Greek yogurt mixed half and half with Zoi honey-flavored with 3 oz unsweetened raspberries added. Pretty good tasting, though not very sweet, but that's ok since I want to retrain my sweet receptors to like foods without added sugars.

I really like the Ryka Reform shoes I got yesterday. I wore them all evening at work and my feet were very comfortable. No morning backache for the second day in a row--don't know if that's from the shoes or my increased walking this past week. Anyway, it feels good.

Re: the weekends. I usually rotate onto 4 weeks of weekends after 2 months of weekdays (I work in health care). I have a much better time staying on track when I work, since I pack my planned dinner, and that's it. Being home in the evenings on my days off hasn't been as hard as I thought it might be. I just plan something special (steak or salmon) for an entree and fill in with veggies/salad and a fruit for dessert. Not having high-calorie/high-salt munchies in the house really helps. I can feel the times where in the past I would have reached for the bag of chips or eaten a couple of bagels that I really didn't need.

Hi everyone, just realized we changed threads! After a week of funeral "stuff", too much family and food (why do people bring SO MUCH GOOD FOOD :) when someone dies?) I am back. We needed a change of scenery so took off for the beach for the week. Good news is that there is a gym right here for me to keep working out. Bad news is there is no scale. I am gonna see if I can find one for the weigh in tomorrow. Good job to everyone who has been working so hard this week! I sure hope I can get right back into it!

I've been trying to eat breakfast, but as someone who'd rather eat more later in the day, it's been hard. I've tried to be really good this week, with exercising and my calorie intake. The last couple weeks when I've weighed in I've seen some really good numbers... I'm trying to prepare myself for when I don't see that good of numbers tomorrow. I just have a feeling I haven't lost any weight, I don't think I gained any, but I don't want to be disappointed when I don't see a 2 or 3 pound loss...

    Good luck tomorrow!

Just weighed myself, not wonderful but at least I've lost this week :D

    14/2/11 - 235.4
    21/2/11 - 235.6
    28/2/11 - 233.0
  • I was so excited for todays weigh in b/c I took a sneak peek on Friday..............and things were looking awsome!!! Imagine my horror when the scale said I gained a pound since last weeks weigh in.............................which means four pounds since friday.
Okay.......................it was my sons birthday party on Saturday and I had pizza/cake and icecream. Since when does a person gain four pounds over the weekend because of one screw up? I am VERY dissapointed with todays weigh-in. Hoping it is just that time of the month and that I am retaining ALOT of water from the salty pizza (which by the way i limited to only ONE piece).

This week I am going to increase my water intake (I have been slacking) and continue to not eat in front of the TV. There, I said it.....now I have to do it!!!!

I weighed this morning. Not the greatest. But i didn't gain. 177.2....
    On friday i was 177.8...
  • Hey hey hey! Ok well as for yesterdays challenge I had egg whites on toast. I have to eat a good breakfast of I will get sick. Which is good for my metab but horrible if you are running late :) As for weigh in this week I am kinda irritated as I just got back on BC and it made me gain rather then loose. Although I gained more in the middle of the week and I am already taking it off atone point this week I had gained 2.6lbs BUT I took some off thank God!
    SW:142.8
    2/21: 141.8
    CW: 142.6
so gained almost a pound. but thats ok. Next week I'll be back down to 141 again. Now if I can just pass that!
