    Thanks for the info everyone!

My work out regimen is usually treadmill, aerobic and strength training (alternating days)....and I don't do the treadmill everyday. But I will start out with a commitment goal of 50 miles this month.

Maybe it's about time I start moving my *kitten* on the treadmill more anyway, so what the heck

I've never tried a challenge before so I am looking forward to starting in March. I figure if I can do at least 2 miles a day minimum then it will be a great start. I am going to try to walk a little more as I go but I don't want to shoot for the moon and then feel guilty that I didn't reach the goal. This one I can do with my kids. So I am excited to join!

    Wow look at those goals!!

Maybe I'll have to put more thought into my goal for March?

What does everyone count walking, running, biking, elliptical, swimming, skiing and ?

    Have a good nite!

I do my miles on the stairmaster, the treadmill, the elliptical or walking outside.

My goal for this month is 150.

I have been thinking on and off all day what my goal really should be? I decided on 100, its going be a challenge, but I'm ready!

Thanks toots99 and everyone for the inspiration and we haven't even started yet!! :flowerforyou:
  • I'm new to this site, but would love to join a challenge. How do I get the ticker to show on my MFP profile? Can I do this challenge too? What do I need to do?

@fit, a 100 mile goal is more challenging for sure, you have to be in some kind of shape to do it.
Miles done on the elliptical or riding the bike might be 'easier' so to speak, however I think that no matter what workouts you choose to do, consistency is the key.

@jesn, once you set a target mileage, you can get an exercise ticker from www.tickerfactory.com and paste it in your signature, or just add your goal manually in your signature

I count treadmill, bike, walking. I hope to add swimming and rowing this month. Good Luck to everyone. Hubby has agreed to walk everywhere with me. The nearest store is 2 miles away so we will use the car less....esp. with the price of gas. There's no public transportation here; so my feet and bike are my new friends.

I hope it's ok for another newbie to jump in. I am setting my goal a lot lower than most, it seems, but I am aiming for 50 miles to start with- I might end up increasing it.

My only goal for March is to lose SOMETHING! I plateaued last year then went through some medical issues so I stopped weighing myself because it was adding more stress to my plate. (literally! lol) But I'm finally relatively healthy again and as I started eating better and getting back on a normal exercise routine I weighed myself for the first time in about 6 months. It surprised me (happily) that I was still at the same weight as I was last year. So my goal for my first month is easy. Just lose something! :D

I've never tracked my miles before. 100 miles sounds like so much! But I need more motivation. I like the idea that March has 31 days... but maybe I'll shoot for 2 miles/day. I walk a lot, but I won't count walking to and from class. So 62 miles for me!

everyone is welcome....you can join whenever you want...just say hi and add your goal...you are competing with yourself....i strongly suggest you pick a moderate goal to challenge yourself but not too high that you stress over achieving it.....you can always push past your goal and do better than you planned which always feels better than failing cause you didnt make your target miles....

I'm in too! I think I said in February my goal was 75 for March. Any activity I can track is going to be included here.

    Good luck everyone!
