Starting Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (in 6 weeks)

To keep me motivated for the next 6 weeks, I thought of trying (again) to attempt to do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, 5 days a week (there's no way I can do it for 7 days a week) for the next 6 weeks. If I follow it, I want to know how much of a result will I get. It's only 20 minutes a day, so that's doable. I will also supplement with another 40-60 minutes of additional cardio for extra fat burn.

I was wondering if anyone wants to commit with me?

We will commit for the next 6 weeks, to do the Shred 5 days a week. You can opt to do additional exercise or not. I want to see if we can lose 20 lbs. or more. Wouldn't that be AWESOME!?

We can check in every Monday with weigh in's, and progress/tips. At the end of 6 weeks, do a final weigh in and measurements.

I have read on past forums that it is best to stick with your diet plan (stay under calories) and of course, be active 6 days out of the week to see maximum results. I'm doing Shred only 5 days because, well, I get easily bored. So I'll supplement with my Zumba, and treadmill, and outdoor walks.

So who's with me....starting March 1st?

    Sounds great! I've already completed the shred once, but have gotten kind of lazy in my workouts. I just started doing the C25K since the weather is getting better but I need the strength training and the abs. 5 days seems like a good goal!

    @Kerri: Great! You've completed the Shred once! (bowing down to you). Yes 5 days. I have attention deficit so I think that's more doable.

    I'm in! I'm on day 3 right now, but I don't do weekend either :laugh:

    I'm going to supplement with the elliptical too.

    Okay, everyone can post their starting weights or whatever you use to measure. Then, check in on Monday mornings for results. But also check in daily to post progress. Mention what Level and what day you are on, since we're kinda all starting on different days.

    This will be my 3rd 30DS.

    Didn't finish the first time due to lack of motivation.
    Couldn't finish the second time due to surgery.
    Finally, finished my 30DS on the 10th of this month!

    I absolutely loved the results so I am going at it again!

    Starting level 1 day 1 tomorrow.
    Will post my measurements tomorrow morning.

    ooo...before and after pix...that's a great idea. i just took a sort of "before" pix a few weeks ago. i agree with TakeOne, only if it shows a difference!!

    excited for everyone to join. i'm definitely motivated to start tomorrow in the morning!!!

    I JUST finished it right now!
    L1 D1: DONE!!!

    The first circuit I was hating life.
    The second circuit I was feeling the burn.
    The third circuit....I was flying home!!

    29 more days to go!!

    Ok, so to keep me going, I would take one phrase that Jillian said, and have that as a mantra in my mind for the whole workout. Today it was: "Don't Phone It In!" and "You don't get THIS for FREE!"

    What is everyones favorite portion..the cardio, abs, or strength?? I have to say abs for myself, since that is the area I need the most help with : )

    @TakeOne: I actually like the Abs portion, to be honest....it gives my knees a rest...and I get to lie down and catch my breath a little! LOL
  • Can someone tell me how to log Jillian in as part of my excersize? I just can't seem to figure out how. Thanks in advance good luck gjspiller! I do Jillian every few days, not everyday ( I found I gain weight when I do Jillian everyday) but I do love the 30 day shred!

    I hate the jumping jacks :angry:

    Love the ab's, makes them feel strong!

    @ThresaGlass: yeah, i plan on doing it 5 days out of the week just because my body needs variety. i am still adding at least 30-40 minutes of additional cardio to it, though.

    @sweebum: i hate the jumping jacks, too!!!!!! but i tell myself it's only 30 seconds...ugh...i'm sure it'll get easier.

    Where is everyone?? Just finished Day 3..so tired :yawn: I really had to fight to find some energy to do it today. How is everyone else coming along?
