oatmeal...other ways to eat it without butter and sugar

I did it with a tbsp of peanut butter and a scoop of chocolate whey the other day. It was sort of ok, sort of weird. I still haven't decided if i really liked it. Usually i have it with a tbsp of peanut butter + a tsp of sugar, and take the whey drink on the side, but the (artificial) sweetener in the whey powder mixed in with the oats made it sweet enough.
I love chocolate whey in mine!0 -
Today I had it with half a packet of lowfat Carnation Chocolate. Yum!!! I've been seeing that on a MFP's food diary and always intended to try it. Delicious!
I've also had it with craisins, banana and chocolate chips.0 -

plain jane here.....I have just been eating mine with little brown sugar

I eat regular (not quick) oats cooked with mashed banana, milk, and chia seeds. Then I top with:
pb+honey+raisins
or
blueberries+almonds+coconut
or
almonds+coconut+honey
or
cinnamon+apples+maple syrup
And on and on and on!0 -

1/2 cups oats, weight watchers drinking chocolate, tspn instant coffee. NUKE. Then add whey protein and 1 tbsn natural peanut butter = THE BOMB!
Or
1/2 cup oats, 1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop whey protein. Leave in fridge for 10mins. Tastes like a dessert0 -

I like the steel cut oatmeal cooked slow on the stove with chopped up fresh apple, cinnamon and agave nectar...mmm think I'll have some for breakfast in the AM! Sometimes I add some liquid egg whites for extra protein to really fill me up. Sounds kinda gross, but it takes on the other flavors...walnuts are great too, but they add alot of fat (good fats, but still fats)0

Wow! Didn't know there were so many ideas - some that I need to try. I have mine with unsweetened applesauce and cinnamon. Very yummy as well.0

I add frozen mixed berries to my oatmeal, they are sweet and tart and get all melty with the heat - and are packed full of antioxidants0

Another one I do which is a bit different is simply adding a few teaspoons of oats to a warm drink like tea/coffee/mocha for when I'm feeling a bit peckish between main meals.0

I really like savory oatmeal. It's pretty weird, but nothing says oatmeal has to be sweet, right? I like to think of oatmeal as a carbohydrate, just like rice or pasta or a potato-- you can mix whatever you like with it!
An egg, a bit of cooked sausage, a sprinkle of cheese, a few nuts, chicken breast, leftover veggies, whatever spices you want to throw in... tons of things work, once you get past the weirdness of it. Would it work in a taco? On a baked potato? With polenta or risotto? It would probably work here! You don't need much of an add-in for it to change the dish-- you can get sort of a "fast food breakfast sandwich" flavor using only using a fraction of the normal amounts of, say, sausage or cheese or other 'bad' stuff.
I started this mostly because I needed a way of getting protein into my breakfasts, and putting it all in one dish was easier. It's not for everyone, but I've made some converts!0 -
1 tsp of pure maple syrup + 1 T of chopped walnuts0

This may also increase you milk production. Just and FYI.0

dried fruit! cranberries are my favourite.
i quite like cold oats in a bowl with a small amount of milk, water, and different fruits (dried or not). it really fills me up and is seriously refreshing in the morning!0 -
Fruit Jam, Cookie crumbs and fresh fruits!
Also wrap it around flour and chicken, deep fried.0 -
Probably already said, but PB2. Perhaps a little stevia to sweeten. Marvelous.0
