I hear even junior sizes are getting away from the hip hugging jeans now. My 15 year old daughter needed jeans a few months back and specifically asked for high waisted. The staff at Delia's said they are definitely back and were able to find several styles she liked. Too bad I had to give away all my old "mom" jeans because they were too big, I would have been right in style.

Yep, if I have a muffin top, I don't really fit into those pants!

See...I'm tall..and I prefer high wasted cuts in pants and that tends to eliminate the muffin top. If I have something lower cut, I can't stand the way that looks. But if I buy a looser size in order to avoid that, then they fall down. If I put a belt on, bam there's the muffin top again.
So I just go with high wasted. I'm in a very very loose size 20 but all the 18s I've tried won't fit.

Buy what looks nice and flattering and is comfortable. Size does not matter. But people who wear jean too tight with fat tummies hanging over do NOT look thinner! It's just gross!
